This was a lovely experience. We found this event thru Unilocal. The original address listed under the events was incorrect but we went to the website and found it. This wonderful event is done by the city of Evanston. It is located very close to the undergraduate northwestern campus. Let me break it down: 1. Free admission 2. Free parking around the area or at northwestern 3. Live music of different genres. And good music that you can dance to 4. Beautiful original art and ceramics for you to see or purchase 5. Gorgeous views of the lake and a beach for you to lay on 6. Food vendors with options from Indian to Nepali to Greek to vegan to Latino. 7. Activities for the kiddos such as swing sets that play music when you swing, face painting and more 8. An atmosphere of peace and serenity. 9. Perfect picnic area for you and your family 10. Yes there are Portable potties(I didn’t use them so I can not comment) This is definitely worth coming to. For 2015 it was on August 1&2 from 11am to 6pm Maybe next year if we are in town, we will return. Thank you Evanston for a lovely day.

My mom and sister live in Evanston and it’s always nice to hit up the festivals with them. This one is huge and the scenery is beautiful. Very family friendly with crafts for the kids. They also have a musician as well. I usually just come here for bath products, but this time I also decided to get a pair of earrings that for $ 5.00 was quite a bargain. Nice place to come for unique items and gifts.

Always a fun event with music, entertainment, vendors with a variety of items, a few(pricey) but solid food vendors, and activities for kids; all along our beautiful Evanston lakefront. One year my daughter and I partook of the Zumba class, and they have various demonstrations as well. It’s also refreshing to see all of the cultures and the diversity that comprises Evanston. We enjoy browsing for the jewelry, accessories and ethnic items, incense, shea butter, as well as scented oils, candles, and miscellaneous artwork! This is an annual event always in July, and it’s usually super hot! If you’re a people watcher, it’s definitely a nice place to be. People come from all over, and I feel blessed to have grown up here and experienced this event year after year, right in my hometown.

Really nice assortment of vendors, great food from a variety of ethnicities. They kicked off the festival with a marching band to greet visitors. Beautiful park to host this event.
