Davis Cleaners

Davis cleaners was suggested to me by a friend who took their wedding dress there to be cleaned. After having many negative experiences with dry cleaners in Chicago, I was hesitant but trusted her word. They cleaned by lace, vintage wedding dress to perfection and boxed it up so it would stay that way. Was it expensive? Yes. Was it well worth it? Yes! I bring Davis cleaners silk blouses with coca cola stains, and they come back to me perfect. I trust them with anything now, especially delicates that need special attention. Highly recommended!

I have taken a few of my dresses and suits to dry cleaning here and they have always done a good job. The other day I spilled soup on my favorite black dress and I cajoled my husband to take it to them for cleaning. They were not sure if they could clean it completely but two days later, I picked my favorite LBD cleaned and saved! I was charged $ 10.50 for the dress which is their regular rate.
I am not sure if they are the lowest priced dry cleaners in town but their prices are reasonable (Similar to Soapie’s dry cleaning) and they definitely do a good job! Service is pretty friendly too.
One thing to note is that they only accept credit card over $ 10

At the beginning of last spring, I took my worn winter coat in for cleaning. I left it in the wrapping until just this morning, and I noticed that they sewed new buttons on my coat!!! It was missing 3 – 4 buttons down the middle as well as on the sleeve, and the remaining ones were coming loose — and they fixed everything even though I didn’t ask! I don’t think I was charged extra either because I remember the total was very comparable to other places I’ve gotten that coat cleaned.
Also, I took a pretty heavily stained silk pillowcase (makeup stains. don’t judge ok) here and they definitely did their absolute best to get everything out even though it took them a bit longer (and prob a lot more work) than normal. Thanks Davis Cleaners!!!
And finally, the people working here are very friendly and polite. Prices are reasonable. The location is convenient. Consider making this place your new cleaners shop!

I have my suit pants try cleaned and it looks pretty good and tidy. Also it is pretty fast you can do same day as long as you send your clothes early in the morning.

I have frequented Davis St. Cleaners since moving to Evanston at the start of the year and am continually impressed with the quality of my dry-​cleaned clothes and service of the friendly/​sweet ladies that run the business. Definitely recommend this place!

I have been using Davis Cleaners for about 10 years. This last year it was taken over by new ownership — and I was concerned about losing the excellent personal service I had come to expect.
To my surprise — the service got even better. A few weeks ago I picked up shirts and they handed me an envelope containing a few receipts and almost $ 20.00 I had left in a shirt pocket. I have been going to cleaners for more than 20 years and never had this happen before.
Then, the other day something wasn’t ready on time so the owner offered to drop it off at my house when it was done — which she did.
I’m impressed.
