Sadly this place has gone downhill in the years its been opened. The portions are now lacking, smaller very few veggies when there used to be huge amounts and the servers leave much to be desired. This place had so much potential… I wont be going back.

Just got a tom yum soup from there for lunch and it is by far the grossest thing I have ever eaten. I’ve had plenty of Tom Yum Soups but this one was sweeter than ice cream. I couldn’t even drown out the sugary flavor with salt or black pepper. There was 0 taste of lime as well which I will probably try to add to save the soup… if it can be saved. I literally felt like this was some cruel joke, I was drinking a gross corn syrup flavored Tom Yum soup. I will stick with Thai Sookdee.

I have been to Cozy for in-person dining and also ordered delivery. It’s awesome for delivery and usually comes within 20 – 25 minutes of ordering. My favorite dish by far is Pad See Ewe with BBQ Pork(extra) followed by Chicken Pad Thai. It’s as good as it gets in Evanston for Thai food. Also would recommend trying any of the ginger dishes. Ordering online is the best for delivery.

This place was so good. It’s hard to find a standout thai place as there are endless options in Chicago, but Cozy Noodles hit the nail square on the head — with flavor. I ordered the salmon curry dish and it complete exceeded my expectations. I really liked the amount of broccoli, carrots, and string beans — and had plenty left over for lunch the next day. The décor is mesmerizing and if you are add you might have a hard time focusing on anything, but an all around good place. I’ll be back.

Tried the red curry with chicken and the crab rangoons today – very large portions for both. I left feeling stuffed, with enough leftover for another meal!

I used to look forward coming to this place but not anymore. I came here with my family and ordered crispy pad thai, pad see ew, pad kee mao, and tomyankun. Food had bland taste and the service was subpar. As soon as we entered, a female waitress took us to a table. After we ordered our dishes, I wanted to make sure she got our order correctly and while doing so she gave me this attitude saying«well that’s what you said?» Ok so maybe she was having her bad day. As we were having our dishes there was a table finishing with their meal at the table next to us. They tried to pay their bill with check which apparently they had been doing that here for a while. The waitress then said that they can’t with rude and impolite manner. The customers then called someone from the kitchen and he apologized to them and everything seemed all good. When we were getting finished with our dishes the waitress asked if she can take one of our empty dish which we said yes, but she also started taking dishes that we were using. We told her that we’re still not done and asked her for our bill. She came back with take out box which we didn’t ask for and tried to take plates AGAIN. Overall I got the feeling that she just wanted us to leave the place and it really wasn’t a pleasant dining experience at all. When we got our bill we got charged a service fee of 18% at lunch time. Now just to let you know this was a 4 people group. I might have missed the 18% thing on their menu so fine if that’s how they want to play. After charging this ridiculous gratuity, yet they still offered a place for us to pay«tip» after we paid our bill. You’re asking me to pay tips after charging 18% gratuity? Oh just come on. I don’t think I’ll be coming back here. The waitress should either fix her attitude or they should just hire someone else.

Great! I came here with a family of four and ordered a bunch of stuff like the multi appetizer plate, some pad see ew, pad thai, and some ddongyangoon(sweet spicy-ish soup)? I loved the appetizers! My favorite was the crab rangoons. But i felt like the shrimp for a dollar was totally not worth it. Like 4 pieces. Its like eating a quarter.

This is the most delicious thai food I have ever had in my entire life, and I have been to at least 20 places across the nation because I am a thai food fanatic. Their panang curry is the perfect texture, perfect amount of spice and coconut, perfect amount of veggies and chicken. Other places either do a decent job or mediocre, but theirs is spot on its amazing. The customer service is okay. The waiter is prompt and checks on you, not above and beyond if thats the sort of thing you really care about but as long as they check on you I am usually pretty happy with the waiter so that is why 4 stars for food and I awarded the one for customer service. Overall great place! I highly recommend the panang curry especially.

Good food, good prices, no complaints here. The best Thai for take-out that we’ve found in the area so far. The venue is also very cute. Service could do with some improvements, but it’s easy to get seated and food comes out quickly.

I’m so happy I found this place a few weeks ago. It’s such a cutely decorated place, and it’s perfect for date night. It has pez dispensers all over, and it’s dimly lit. The music isn’t too loud, and they usually play acoustic covers which is nice. It’s also reasonably priced, which is hard to find around Evanston! I got tofu with peanut sauce and broccoli, and it was delicious! It’s easy to mess up tofu, but they cooked it perfectly. The sauce was rich and just the perfect thickness. I would highly recommend this dish to fellow vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike! This place is BYOB and there’s a liquor store right across the street, which makes this place perfect.

It’s inexcusable to not have basic SSL security on a site that requires a credit card to place an order. Cozy, talk to your provider. Or switch to Unilocal for online ordering, since that’s where many customers start from. Waiting until after the order is placed to notify customers that it’ll take 30 minutes to prepare(or 60 to deliver) also seems customer-hostile.

Cozy is an eclectic shop full of vintage décor, but lacks real flavors to be fully represent Thai cuisine. The restaurant is BYOB if dining in, and portions are reasonable for the price. I understand there is a lack of really good Thai food in the Chicagoland, but to me this place does not help the cause nearly as much. I ordered the pad thai with chicken, which came out to about $ 7.75. Choosing either beef or shrimp will jack up the prices even more, but what I expect from pad thai is something fresh, colorful, salty, tangy, sweet, spicy, intricacy, and harmonious blends of flavor. This really did nothing for me. The noodles tasted old, the chicken tasted frozen and lacked really any flavor, and the overall dish lacked any sort of cohesion. I think a better attention to detail and fresh ingredients will truly elevate this place. The décor is very whimsical and fun inside, but the food did nothing for me.

Cozy Noodles & Rice aims to create a loving atmosphere for its customers with a whimsical décor, but ultimately fails to capture a crowd with its mediocre food. Cozy is conveniently BYOB, a factor strongly considered by many college students when they decide to go out for a meal. The restaurant is also reasonably priced, with most entrees costing less than 10 dollars. If you order smartly, you may find yourself a great deal: cheap food in a short amount of time. They do online ordering as well as delivery meals. I give the décor of this restaurant an A+, as it is right up my alley. Whoever designed this joint pays a lot of attention to details, something you might notice as you eat your meal on beautiful mosaic pattern tables. Apparently Cozy gets pretty busy and crowded on the weekends, but on the Tuesday evening when Lisette and I visited, there were only two or three other tables occupied. I ordered a taro slushie bubble tea($ 3.50), but was extremely disappointed with what I received. The drink’s chalkiness and manufactured taste hinted that it was made from a powder mix, and the bubbles tasted like they were sitting in a vat all day, based on the tapioca’s uneven and unpleasant texture. While the wait for food was less than seven minutes, I found that I should not have looked forward to much. After all, you get what you wait for. The Rama dish($ 7.95) I ordered had crunchy broccoli and chicken that tasted like it had been frozen for quite some tie. The whole dish leaned towards lukewarm, which means that it was probably not cooked, but rather heated up shortly before it arrived at our table. Seven minutes is too fast for your food to be fresh… The sweet peanut sauce helped to liven up the dish a bit, but the consistency of the shredded carrot scattered on top made me think it was soaked in cold water to prevent it from drying out. This method can be effective, but the art is in presenting it in a way that this is not too obvious. Entrees at Cozy come with a complimentary scoop of white rice, but you can also opt for brown rice if you want to pay an extra dollar. Lisette ordered Pad Thai($ 7.75), a dish that she customized with her choice of protein. The sauce had a hint of fish sauce, which is delicious and common in Pad Thai sauces, but normally doesn’t come across as strongly as Cozy’s did. The portions here are decent considering the price, though I would not deem it exceedingly generous. You get more bang for your buck if you eat there for lunch, as they have lunch special dishes for $ 6.95. At the end of the day, the food at Cozy is questionable. I question the freshness of the food, as well as the authenticity of the restaurant, but I can understand the decision of college students to continue eating their food because though the quality is mediocre, the service is great, it’s cheap and quick, and the place is just so darn cute. Pictures and full review is up on my blog!

A good girl friend and I stopped by here for dinner tonight and had a pretty good experience. The environment was really cozy with cute, creative décor. We were seated immediately and our orders were taken promptly. I had the pad see ewe(chicken) and she had the crispy pad thai(chicken). Both were tasty. And I would totally recommend the latter.

The food at Cozy Noodles is delicious but its service leaves something to be desired. I’ve ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Pad See Ewe to go a bunch of times. They usually have it ready within 15 minutes of me ordering and I get to take home freshly made, hot delicious noodles. You should get some packets of hot sauce to go with the dishes — it’s a special type of Thai chili that delivers a good kick for those who like spicier foods. The price is good, about $ 8 per dish. The portions are also pretty large for take out — actually probably more so than when you do sit down. Their crab rangoon and spring rolls are really crispy and definitely a win. I came a few times for a sit down service. When it’s less than 4 people the service is decent but once the group size gets larger they don’t do a good job of checking in on you to make sure that everything is good. We sat around waiting 20 mins for them to come get our order and and had to call them multiple times to refill the water. They are BYOB though which is cool.

This place is exactly what it’s name implies. I live just around the block but finally tried it 4 months after moving here. I loved it, portions were good, def enough to have leftovers for another meal. The shrimp cakes were great and so were the drunken noodles. And omg the Thai iced tea comes in the cutest ever mason jars! See pic! The décor is freakin awesome I love love love the tables. Service could be better though I felt my server was kinda checked out and not really with it. I also felt she was rushing us a bit. That’s the only reason for the 4 star but food was fantastic! Will def be going more often!

I think it’s my most favorite Thai restaurant in Evanston. The interior is just so quirky and unexpectedly adorable! Pez collections, license plates, quotes… the walls are covered from head to toe. I love coming with friends. We always get the Pad thai, or Pad see ew(frikken amazing), red curry and then some appetizers. It’s also BYOB, so I remember my friends and I bought cheap wine and celebrated it cozily here at this restaurant. We shared all the dishes, and shared great conversation. It’s not very crowded~ but it’s never empty. I just think the service can be a bit better. The workers are always a bit grumpy. I have to wave my hand obnoxiously or repeat Excuse me a couple times to place my order or ask for a spoon. Still, the food comes out pretty fast. They do include gratuity in the bill! Be careful! My roomie and I love thai food and we’ve concluded that this is our place to go!

Dropped in on New Year’s as it was one of the few restaurants open that night. Ordered takoyaki — these were delish! had the rad nar and spicy udon as well. The rad nar took me back by surprise — there were no see ewe like noodles, and instead all there was were really crispy… things that resembled fried wonton skin? my partner didn’t mind but I found it so weird as I wasn’t expecting it at all. spicy udon was good. a little on the sweet side though, which I’m not a huge fan of. Would come here again, BUT it’s not cheap. and what can I say about the deco that everyone else hasnt already said? it’s heaps cute and quirky.

Cozy is super cute! My theory is that a vintage collector procured so many neat items that he had no more room for, that he decided to open up a whole establishment to display his treasures. Traditional, feel-good noodle dishes as well as interesting original creations are presented just as artistically as the restaurant. The taste is also excellent, and the waiters are open and friendly. Charming and unique, yet nostalgic and homey. Great place to go with friends.

This place is unconventional when it comes to their décor and average in their fare. In the dining area where my group sat, there were rows of beanie babies(boxed in those plastic storage containers) sitting on some wall shelves for display. Vintage Coca Cola merchandise and old-school posters were scattered along the walls, and one wall was fully covered in old license plates. The décor felt«cozy» like I was eating in an old antique shop(or inside a teenager’s expanded closet) that just happened to serve thai food. A few years ago, I ate at an all-American barbecue joint in a small town that had very similar decorations. By default, eating thai food here felt a little strange because it felt like I should have been eating bbq ribs, bbq chicken, cole slaw, and downing wedge potato fries with some sweet tea… while contemplating how many people drove through this neck of the woods to try«the best pulled pork in Utah»(or something like that). I forget the term…(context memory?) that led me to feel unadjusted to eating Thai food in a setting that was not so «Thai.» Just think of eating sushi in a Chipotle, or slurping Strawberry milkshakes in an Asian bistro. This context, albeit creative, funky and BYOB(thumbs up for that) felt mismatched with their food. To soften the blow(and since perhaps I don’t have Evanston-local nor Northwestern-student nostalgia for this place) you do get a good value for what you pay. And now moving on to the FOOD: Many(if not all) dishes were under $ 10 and are share-able portions. I got #20 «Rama» with tofu, which is the peanut sauce with broccoli. This was not bad(It’s hard for me to hate peanut sauce) and they give you generous portions of tofu/broccoli/sauce. Warning: If you order the green curry, ask for mild because they don’t mess around with their chili! My friend’s green curry was served in a huge white bowl(think Olive Garden pasta bowls) but we tried to add two bowls of white rice to tone down the spiciness. I tried it again and the chilis would not surrender. I couldn’t handle it. If anyone has suggestions on what I should order next time, do let me know! Their staff does not provide individual checks for large parties unless you can split it down to two cards. THELOW-DOWN: I would come back to either order the #20 «Rama» again or to try a really mild pad thai. It’s a fun and quirky place to eat Thai food. I don’t love this place, but ask any Northwestern student and they might tell you differently.
