We loved this place! I had been hearing great things about the food here, and we finally stopped by today for a late lunch. The building looks a little iffy from the outside, but once you step inside and smell the smokey BBQ, you’ll forget what the outside looks like. Cute décor, nice and clean, and great food. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich, which he said was pretty good, and I got the pulled chicken, which was amazing. SO tender, moist and flavorful. The cornbread was also really great – not too sweet or corny, just right! We loved the sauce so much we bought a bottle of the HOT to take home with us. We will definitely be coming back, either to sit down for lunch or take to go. A take-home menu would have been useful, but I didn’t see any on our way out. Also, we noticed a big room for private parties. Perfect for a Hail and Farewell for soldiers. Close to Ft Drum and really good food. The only thing I think people would be missing from a hail and farewell is the alcohol. Maybe they’re working on getting a liquor license? Otherwise they’d be making a killing! I hope more people find out about this little gem :)

Brought my wife some takeout to get her opinion, being that she’s a carnivore, her opinion is a lot more important than mine on this. I was hoping this place would be good enough where she would rather eat here than drive down to dino bbq in syracuse – not saying it had to be better, but good enough where if you factor the 70+ miles drive that she’d rather eat here: nope. She really liked the brisket, saying it was pretty solid. She mostly was disappointed by the ribs, they weren’t butchered right and there was a lot of inedible tissue still attached, so she could really only eat about half of what was there. She said maybe we’ll go back in a while when they have a bit more practice on that. In fact most of the negatives seem like things that will improve with time, so here’s to hoping. Staff was incredibly nice on my second visit as well.

What a gem!!! The ribs are the best I’ve eaten. They were tender and tasty as they fell off the bone. Cornbread was fantastic and the Spark Plugs were a real treat. Very, very close to Fort Drum. This is a must eat destination spot!!!

Great BBQ. I’ve been here a couple times now. I highly recommend the brisket and the pulled pork. I wasn’t a fan of the piglickers(chocolate covered bacon). The waitstaff needs more experience, but the food is fantastic.

Wife and I decided to try out the new BBQ in downtown Evans Mills. This is exactly what this town needs. As with any new business, there is definitely room for improvement. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of food. My wife got the pulled pork sandwich with onion rings and potato salad. I got the beef brisket dinner with coleslaw and baked beans. Both of our meals were great! Very tender and full of flavor. Why four stars instead of five? We started our meal out with cornbread, which was delicious! If it had been warmed up prior to serving, it would have been perfect! Then again, we did visit this establishment about 30 mins prior to closing. Also, while the homegrown BBQ sauce was full of flavor, it would have been a perfect addition had it been a tad thicker. Once again, just my opinion after spending a majority of my BBQ eating in the deep South. In any case, this is definitely a place to try! I will be going here on a regular basis for lunch and dinner outings.
