I love the coffee. I love the chocolates. I love the staff, the ambiance, the décor! I do NOT love the last time I went in with my husband for my birthday and ordered six truffles, a hot chocolate, and a coffee… and was charged thirty dollars! I said that’s not right, and the gentleman at the register assured me that it was, with no explanation. My husband suffers from extreme anxiety and does not like confrontation, otherwise I’d have made a scene.

Great coffee, awesome treats, and top notch service! From the outside, this place looks really small but what I didn’t realize is that it’s actually pretty spacey! Great place to grab coffee and desert with some friends or just to relax and enjoy time pass.

I usually like this place, but my last visit wasn’t the best. My drink was overly syrupy and I didn’t even end up finishing it because it was really mediocre. I ordered a bagel with pesto and avocado and it took 20 minutes to come out. When I finally did get it, it was cold and chewy. I could tell they made it a while ago then forgot about it and brought it out cold. They could have at the very least reheated it. I am not impressed and I feel like I wasted my money. If I judged this place solely on my last visit, I would give this place a 1 star. I have had some decent experiences with this place so I’m going to generously give it 3 stars. However, next time I will be trying a new coffee place.

I used to come to this place every week with a friend and bring out of town guests when touring old town. But last week I went in with a friend who was getting a coffee and I asked to use the bathroom. There were three employees standing in the walkway to the restroom and one of them made a weird gesture with they’re arms when I walked by but I didn’t think anything of it, on my way back out a tall male employee with curly red hair said«thank you very much for using our restroom and leaving» then smirked over at the other employees. I was very shocked and embarrassed by their behavior and it left a bad taste in my mouth for the rest of the day. I will not be going back but I do hope that this place hires some more professional and kinder employees.

We were on our way back from The Redwood Park to SF and stopped at Eureka for a quick coffee. I ordered only 2 things — white and black hot mocha and the almond chocolate biscotti, and they were amazing. I wanted to drive all the way back for more!

This is the best coffee shop in Humboldt outside of Brio. Their prices are right and they roast right there. I’ve been frequenting this spot for years.

Absolutely LOVE this place. Beautiful atmosphere — exposed brick walls, lots of seating and the friendliest staff. Their menu lives up to the name with a wide variety of coffee and delicious chocolates! Definitely recommend their hazelnut biscotti — which one of their employees recommended. They also have a stamp card, so I’ll definitely be making this one of my regular stops. :)

For a small town the coffee wasn’t bad. If we just rate the place for its coffee(since they are a roaster) it’s a solid 3 star. The americano tasted like the beans were over-roasted so it lacked some flavor, but that may be a personal preference.

The BEST! Espresso is delicious and my kids love the chocolate dipped goods. Always buy a bag of beans for home as well. Love the owners and the environment of the shop. Locally owned!

Wonderful coffee, baked goods, candy and friendly workers. I used to go to a science fiction book club here sponsored by one of the owners. It a great place to hold any gathering of friends.

I call this place a win-win. I wanted a cup of really good coffee and my wife wanted to shop in Old Town Eureka. So I enjoyed my coffee and a newspaper and my wife enjoyed the shops. She did stay and had a cup of coffee too before she went out, she got a Lavender Latte which was actually pretty good! They have a great selection of coffee and treats. It’s a great place to enjoy the paper, read a book, check the Internet or just enjoy good conversation with friends.

Went to this stop based on the other Unilocal recommendations. We ordered a few lattes which where undrinkable. The espresso was burnt and bitter. I kept an eye on the person making our drinks and noticed that he had little idea on what he was doing. Steaming a large vat of milk to expedite the orders. Wish these coffee shops would take more pride in what they serve… Most of us expect and will wait for a good well made cup of coffee. No need to rush. Skip the coffee, espresso and lattes in this place.

We were cold, tired and hungry after a long drive from San Francisco. We stopped here looking for dinner close to closing hours and they fired up the griddle for us and prepared some hot bagels. The server was super nice and not only gave us recommendations of nearby attractions to check out but she also gave us two hot cookies for the trip. Definitely recommend for weary travelers!

Before I talk about my most recent trip to Old Town I would like to say I usually really enjoy coming here to have coffee and biscotti with friends. However on my last visit the barista taking my order was really rude. I made the horrible mistake of asking what the wifi password was. I’m not sure if his mother died in a awful computer accident and«Wifi» is his trigger word but you would think with the amount of shortness and snark being exchanged that I had personally offended him somehow. Again that being said the coffee and treats are good and I really appreciate the trivial pursuit cards in the far sitting area.

Lately this place has gone down hill. The drinks are often inconsistent meaning some days I love my drink and others I don’t. Also the pricing is inconsistent as well. meaning some days I get charged 50 cents extra for something and another day they say it’s 1.00.last but not least a few of the staff members(a specific guy and girl come to mind) are very rude and just put off an attitude like they do not want to be there. They get annoyed at the simplest reuquest and can’t even smile.

I take great issue with a a place calling itself a coffee shop, but yet serving self serve coffee. More of a bakery than a coffee shop.

Huge fan of this place. Excellent service and quality product. However, I recently came across a promotion that will offer you a free fruit drink if you wear a bikini in. This disappointed me greatly. If I show you my body, I get a free drink. That concept disgusts me. Our town, especially such a highly respected place in the area, doesn’t need smut. They lost a lot of my respect.
