This small hot dog shop has several decent options on their board whenever you feel the need for a good ol’ fashion hot dog, or a change of pace. Best part about this place is it uses local Taylor’s Sausage for its sausage option which in my opinion is the best tasting around. Another interesting aspect of this little place is it works with the local school system as a work/study program for high school students to get some experience working with people, working in the job market, and learning some basic business skills(like counting cash and making correct change) along with giving these young kids a chance to earn a little money. The place is small, with a few chairs and table tops. Walk up counter service, place your order get your beverage and grab a seat — someone will bring you your food once it’s prepared. It’s never been busy on my visits, the food is good, the service friendly and courteous, and the prices are fair. Worth a visit, decent food, fast service and helps local kids get job experience. 3.5 stars — rounded up for using Taylor sausage which is just the best. 343

Dogs are great and I love eating here, BUT hours are inconsistent with Unilocal and google and phone number is also incorrect so you can’t call to confirm if they are open. I changed from 5 star to 2 star. I would love to change my review back to 5 if they could get organized with logistics

I went here today on a whim with a girlfriend of mine and I did not regret a thing! Not only do I love hot dogs, but their options were fantastic, the portions were large, and the price was small. I got their most popular dog, the Mudder, which is a chili dog and when the woman asked if I wanted nacho cheese, shredded or both, I almost wet myself. I went with the nacho cheese and jalapenos and did not regret a moment of it. So delicious!!! I will be returning to this fine, great smelling establishment and will tell all my friends.

Tried Northtown Hot Dogs n Delights for the first time today. SO glad I did. YUMMY!!! I had The Mudder and can’t wait to try other delicious dogs there. The staff is lovely and the lobby was clean and comfy. I also learned they are a Youth Training sight. Fantastic! Keep up the great work. I’ll definitely be back… and frequently.

Average. Only one veggie dog(I know, why would you go to a hot dog place if you’re a vegetarian, right?) which was plain. The linguica dog my husbAnd got didn’t taste great but the original was better. Love all the topping options. Want to try the nachos. Awesome that they hire and train at risk youth to be prepared for the workplace. I

The best place in town to get hot dogs and nachos! They serve big portions that are hot, tasty, and fresh. They also have a stamp card, ever 10 purchases earns you a free purchase. The staff is friendly and quick. It’s easy to drive over on my lunch break and eat and be back in time for work.

So I seen all the reviews and thought I would try this place. Finally today I tried it and was very disappointed. I had a chilli cheese dog, it was horrible there was so much chilli and cheese the hot dog bun was soggy. Need less to say I wouldn’t try it again.

The girls working where very friendly and helpful. Parking is odd. The main plus is the Taylor’s dogs. The bun was cold and didn’t compliment the meat. I had the stinker onions and raw garlic, it would have been awesome with a steamed bun. We will try again I always give a local place a second chance.

Really delicious dogs they will customize any way you like. Super friendly staff. They also offer gluten and dairy free buns, and have special treats for your canine companions as well.

The Taylor Sausage dogs are always great. But this place is overpriced considering the limited amount of toppings placed on the hot dogs. The bread becomes over whelming when you get a limited amount of toppings. The Sausage dogs seems to have been boiled or reheated. Although service was friendly and the restaurant is clean, it’s a bit over priced for what you get.

Service: Excellent! Both people working were very nice. Menu: The menue looks small, but that’s only because they expect you to fully customise your hot dog. I’m not a fan of this strategy. When it comes to a speciality place like this, I want to taste what they think is their flagship dog. Quality: All the dogs are Taylor sausages… which in my book are the best! Taste: I got a chili dog and the cheese dog. Both were good, but far from great. The chilli tasted like it was from a can. They didn’t offer to toast my bun, and after i started eating I really wish they had. Overall: I think this place has potential, but right now they have some perfecting to do. They also do not have a veggie dog… which i wouldn’t eat anyway, but I do have vegie friends who i like to go out to eat with.

I have been here a few times now and really enjoy the hotdogs. The mudder is my favorite but I haven’t tried many others. The staff is always helpful and friendly. The only things I don’t like are the parking and location. I choose to get it to go and I don’t go here as often as I would if it were closer in town. They use Taylor dogs which are so yummy and hard to come by around here too. I will be returning for Sure!

I’ve been going since they opened, and will return. I like it a lot, the dogs are good and the employees are exceptionally friendly. But every time I go in, I’m the only customer. This is a telltale sign that happens when new restaurants open in this area. If they don’t get the clientele they will close, unless they are a front… I was born and raised in Eureka, and the location they have will only appeal to people if they start advertising properly. That location only is good for commuters to/from Arcata/Eureka. But doesn’t work for Eureka locals, as it’s on the complete edge of town and only accessible by going around 101 south behind the Clarion and then back onto 101 south or basically going to Target and turning on X street onto 101 or next to Target. I’d be sad to see this place go, they offer pretty good dogs for a fair price. I only give them a 4⁄5 star because they seem to be out of the stinker every time I’ve gone after the first time. Options for your dogs are amazing; I just want them to have what they offer on the menu, all the time. Which, again, would be fine if they had clientele. So go and try it out, it’s not expensive and you might like it more than your first expectations would lead you to believe.

I ate there yesterday with a friend, and have to say for a wet dreary Sunday, this was an excellent choice. I was torn between 4 and 5 stars, I really hate giving a 5 star to a Hot Dog place, but, damn it this was good. Parking is limited and tight, will try the drive through, next time, and YES there will be a next time! Menu has lots to offer and this is where I would ding them a partial star. It was a bit overwhelming to decide! The owner was very friendly and talkative, and helped guide us through the dry-erase board menus on the wall. We settled on the Mudder dog(chili cheese) to go… This is not a dog to eat while driving and we were warned about that! Love the fact that they try to source everything local that they can, and have plans to add local buns to the menu soon. Using Taylor Sausage as their dog source was a brilliant idea, and the quality shines through. Looking forward to my next visit!

Dogs. And nachos. And chili. And nacho chili dogs. Fantastic brand of hot dogs and sausages(Taylors of Cave Junction) on a decent bun with a lot of condiment choices for a decent price. Polish, Brats, bison sausage. Special dogs off menu. Nice staff. Drive thru. I withhold a star for bare bones seating and location. I should add that star back for there being no TV. But location. You’re either blazing by it on 101 south and don’t see it, or you keep missing the right cross street from 101 north. But still. The tiny building by the billboard for Eureka Inn, on the right. Great place for actual sausage and hot dog lovers.

I’ll start with the service… superb. The owner, Chad, is very friendly and takes customer service seriously. This is important to me and sometimes hard to find in the area. The dogs… we ordered«The Mudder». Top grade Taylor’s links were juicy and flavorful. The chili was definitely not from the can and was mouthwatering! It came with multiple toppings of your choice, all included in the totally affordable price. The delights… the owner features different local bakery’s delights. Cakes, cupcakes, etc. While the selection we tasted was nothing to write home about it was still a nice treat and the owner gave it to us on the house!(There is that stellar service again). In closing… if you like a tasty dog now and then give Northtown a try. More people should support new local businesses in Humboldt!

Stopped in for a dog to go. I ordered The Standard which is an old fashioned dog and a bun with whatever toppings I want. I went basic mustard, relish(they have 3 choices) and onions. Service was friendly and pleasant. Prices seem reasonable – lots and lots of options as far as what flavor of hot dog you want and lots of toppings. Some extra toppings cost extra. I saw a chili dog go out and I should have asked if they make their chili. It looked really soupy and didn’t look like a wise to-go choice, which is why I didn’t try it. Prices seem reasonable to me considering it’s hot dogs, chips and soda. My dog and soda was under 5 bucks. I am not excited about the parking situation there which seemed pretty tight in front and getting in and out of that place requires navigating lots of incoming traffic from Northbound 101. I got to work and opened up my dog and maybe it’s because of my choice, but it was very much like having a Costco deli dog. I am pretty sure it’s the same buns from Costco. Onions were sweet which isn’t a bad call. I contemplated the spicy relish. I am a fan of Taylor Sausage so felt like the actual meat of the dog was good as expected. I would love to see something more original for a bun. Maybe something that isn’t out of a bag but from a local bakery. And still curious about that chili which might have been out of a can. They also have a nacho dog which I am wondering if it’s canned nacho cheese sauce. I am curious what the«delights» are – I was in a hurry so maybe didn’t see what that was. It would be smart to encourage customers to buy more – like suggest the chips to sell up more! I also pointed out to the workers that they have a huge customer potential right across the highway where there are hundreds of office workers. People in my office hadn’t even heard of the place and I only know about it because I come from Arcata daily. Eureka folks may never know.
