The wings are consistently good. That is the only thing you can depend on. Like most restaurants in Humboldt, they hire a bunch of kids who dont care. I suspect a well paid manager who takes pride in their work could make it a very good place. ime restaurant owners are often not willing to pay enough to attract a good manager. We have had MANY calzones come very burned(all black) on the bottoms.

The pizza is great, it never disappoints. However, on the night of arts alive on the first Saturday of January I came in to dine with my boyfriend. It wasn’t too busy and I saw a staff of at least 5 people there. The cooks were great, kneading dough and producing a great product. However, we waited 20 minutes for our slices. There was an elderly couple of women who ordered after we had been there for 20 minutes and they got their pizzas before us. The counter person seemed more preoccupied with sweeping the mats and closing up shop. I also saw the some employees playing frisbee with paper plates and bussing tubs. As a person in food service, this was just ridiculous. At least fool around in the back. BUT I will be back for the great food and I hope the employees start caring about their work place.

Paul is a a great dude. And I will edit my rating to 5 stars(because the food is that good) when he hires some new managers. The way customers are treated by staff is really poor and like others have said in the other reviews the service to customers is garbage. Lots of attitude on phone orders. Almost always getting the order wrong. It’s as if they know they are the best pizza in town so they dont think they have to try anymore to show any respect for customers.

LOVEIT! The thin crust is a little tough for me to chew(bad teeth due to messed up childhood, you know) but tastes amazing. My husband always orders two giant slices of pepperoni. When I get pizza, I usually get the Brooklyn(that’s the spinach one, right?) or the square one with the barbecue. I’m in LOVE with the garlic knots, but my husband complains about my breath after! You can never go wrong with a piping hot bowl of their tomato basil soup, either.

Hands down… AMAZING pizza! Ranch based w/tomatoes, onions, chicken and BACON! Perfectly crisp crust and well cooked toppings. Definitely bringing my business back to this place!

I’m born and raised NYCer… this is as close as I’ve found to Rays Pizza on West Broadway. Really great crust… no complaints EXCEPT… sometimes it takes a while to get your food.

I’d put it up against any pizza in the world. Best I’ve ever had and it’s not even close.

1 star because I can’t give them a negative star. Don’t get me wrong with this review, I love their pizza but their service has tanked! I have been a regular customer for well over 10 years but lately their service has completely turned me away from them ever getting my business again. I gave them three chances to get their service back on par. I have gone as far as to talk to their manager twice. Let’s start with the first bad taste in my mouth… I placed an order — 1 large half pepperoni half cheese and I got a cheese pizza. Second, one week later — 1 large cheese, after waiting nearly 45 minutes and asking about my order twice the bottom of the pizza was burnt. And then there is my attempt to order tonight — my first call was at 4:00 pm and was placed on hold for 12 minutes before I hung up and called back. 2nd call was also placed on hold but then 3 minutes later someone picked up the line just to hang up on me. 3rd and final attempt — the girl actually took my order, asked if it was for delivery or pick up, then placed me on hold for 9 minutes when I finally gave up. May order tonight was 3 large pizzas so I take it they don’t need my business so that is exactly what they get… I am done with them!

Good pizza but girl on phone didn’t have a clue. Took over an hour for delivery and I’m 6 bocks away. It was New Years eve so they were probably busy.

I don’t know what people are talking about when complaining about the customer service because I always get super nice people when calling in my order. On rare occasion when we go and sit down, we also encounter pleasant people working behind the counter. Yes, the wait can me long for delivery but I’m always informed upfront that it will be an hour or even 90 minutes. Hey, it’s a small town and there’s not too many good choices for food. When we order fresh tomatoes on our pizza, they’re kind enough to put them on the side so they’re not mushy when the pizza delivered. Good customer? You bet! Another bonus for us is the salads are prepared with mixed greens and not romaine or iceberg. We only eat pizza from Live from New York! Love this place.

The pizza was limp, very wet, and falling apart. The customer service wasn’t good. I couldn’t find any parmigiana cheese. I couldn’t get a employees attention to ask

This has been a terrible experience. I ordered my pizza at 9 and waited two and a half hours for it and it never came. They said it would be here in an hour, so I called after an hour and twenty minutes and the guy said it was on the way. It hasn’t come yet. I tried calling back but they closed. To top it all off, I had already paid for my pizza when I ordered it with my card. Seems like they will be enoying the payment for a pizza they never delivered.

Horrified AGAIN by the customer service. Called for a pizza, was told it was over an hour wait. An hour later they called to let us know that they hadn’t even started making it. Will not return.

Worst customer service ever. Pizza is good… NOTGREAT. They charge a delivery fee and add in their own tips. Pizza arrives well past the estimated time COLD. Over priced and bad customer service=loss of customers. When will Pauls see that??? I called after the cold pizza was delivered and asked to speak with a manager. Someone came on claiming to be the manager and offered a free pizza because I was unhappy with the cold pizza delivery. He asked me to hold… someone else came back on the line and had no idea was going on. He was rude and condescending and let’s just say overall unprofessional… needless to say no free pizza evolved(and I was hung up on) Really liked the pizza, but 3 times of over pricing and 2 home deliveries of cold pizza, sorry won’t be back. DONE

Great hand tossed thin crust pizza. Great topping combinations! Slices are bigger than other pizzerias. Buffalo chicken sandwich was great! Fast and friendly service. I need to try the Sicilian style pizza next time we go.

Several years ago while in New York I made my dislike for NY style pizza known to a New York native I was traveling with. He assured me that I «just didn’t have the real, good, authentic NY pizza» Now, I should also point out this I had just recently spent some time in Chicago. Where all pizza bows before the almighty deep dish. I was still smitten, in post-honeymoon mode from the 2 inch thick meal-in-a-slice windy city pie so convincing me that a soggy slice of thin crust was going to be tough. He took us to one of his old neighborhood pizza haunts assuring us that this was the«real deal» but to me it was just more of the same. So, this is when I realized what real NYC pizza was. Thin, soggy, reheated slices of pizza that you fold in half. I really wasnt impressed. Please, take me back to Chi-Town. When we moved to Eureka I saw Paul’s Live From New York, the one in here and the one in Arcata. I scoffed because I pretty much decided way-back-when that I’d never eat New York pizza on purpose again. But then– One night after the F Street Beerfest we ended up there with a group of people we’d just met who would eventually become our good friends. They seemed excited about it, and we were stoked to meet new people in town so we went for it. The pizza was large, flat, greasy, reheated… and delicious. Pretty much every experience I’ve had at Paul’s has been like this. Late night, good friends and just a really good time with a good variety of different pre-made pizzas that will satisfy just about everyone in the group. And then there’s the garlic knots. Little morsels of curled up dough soaked in garlic oil and garlic. My mouth waters thinking about them as I type this. They knots are better later in the evening when they’ve had a chance to get fully saturated with garlic oily goodness. They have salads, pasta dishes and a good selection of beers on tap. The slices are really big, but I recommend two because you’ll want it. The service can be slow. This is pretty much my only complaint. The joke with my friends is that everything about Paul’s I don’t know why it takes so long sometimes to just reheat a few slices of pizza but they lag a lot of the time. Usually when I go it’s a big social gathering with friends and we really don’t mind. But it happens. Bonus; they also deliver! But depending on the time of day and your locale the delivery times can be a while and for some reason the woman who answers the phone makes you feel like you’re ruining her whole day by calling and ordering pizza. This might not be a usual thing but it’s rubbed me the wrong way a few times. And if they’re busy, which is always, dont think ordering ahead to pick it up yourself will save you any time. I called once and they said it was a 90 minute wait for pick up. 90 friggin minutes! So despite slow, sometimes rude service, along with my historical disdain for New York style pizza I give Paul’s Live From New York Pizza a solid four out of five stars. It’s just a place that I always end up and leave very very satisfied. The service and the wait times have been so bad it’s just comical and we laugh about it with full stomachs on our way out the door. I highly recommend going in person and sitting down at a table with friends. Maybe after some beers at The Local or after a movie at the Eureka Theater. Be loud, buy lots of pizza. Dont forget the garlic knots.

The food is not bad, it is pretty good food. However, I think this restaurant may be short staffed. It always takes a VERY long time to get food to go. You need to stand right up by the counter or you may not hear your name called. On more than one occasion I have waited for 30+ minutes inside at the counter by the door, and not realize my food was already done. I was listening for my name to be called and never heard it. No one came over to let me know my order was waiting at the counter.
If you don’t proactively wait for your food right where it comes out of the kitchen, then you will be left waiting by the counter a few yards away and not realize your food is over by the cash register. This is unfortunate because the food cools down. I do not recommend coming here unless you plan to just order one pre-made slice. Also, they use paper plates, so it can be messy since if you use utensils, as the plate falls apart.

First time to Paul’s(Live From New York) and most of the reviews are correct, this is true East Coast Pie. The menu has so many choices, that if you ate there everyday for a month you would not repeat a special. Very good, tasty, authentic, large slices, correct and on point are words I would use when discussing any opinion on Pauls pizza. I am looking forward to tomorrow, I was told they would be having Sicilian pizza slices.
