This restaurant’s food is always excellent, in Nov or Dec, they made some changes having to do with egg portions, you know 1 egg, 2 egg, 3 eggs or 4 eggs. With that said, I have to rant a bit… So when, we first walked in, the restaurant was not real crowded and 3 of the front window booths were available, they seated us, fave us menus and we waited and waited, a couple walks in about 10 minutes after us. We are still waiting to order. We were trying, to be patuent. We see a waitress coming our way, she goes over to the table that was seated after us and takes their order! WHAT??? OK, let tgat go. She then comes to our table. I order a 2 egg omelet with 2 sides, my side choices were hash browns and english muffin. After getting coffee and water abd sone smakl talk, our breakfast arrives. I look down at my breakfast plate it has a muce loking onelet, an ok portion of hashbrowns and ½ of the English muffin. I’m confused. When I asked about the other half, I was told that the 2 egg breakfast only came with half a muffin. Seriously…½ a muffin! Am I taking crazy pills. I’m sorry, but when my breakfast cost almost $ 10, I think I should get the whole muffin. Are food costs rising so much that I can’t get the whole muffin? Who knows, doesn’t seem right. Love the taste of the food, but a little disappointed about the who k e english muffun

Best breakfast food in Eureka, possibly Humboldt, especially if you are vegetarian/vegan. They offer a fantastic vegetable scramble/omelet dish with a tofu substitute. Now I should note that normally I do not like tofu. But they crumble the tofu in such a way that it is delicious and actually tastes very similar to egg. I’ve been coming to Golden Harvest for years and am always pleased with the food.

This meal was probably the highlight of my trip to Eureka and the surrounding area. This place was the last place we had breakfast while in town and I sure wish we had tried it sooner as I would have eaten there many times. So just to set the scale here I am a bit of a pancake snob. I almost always order them when I go out for breakfast as a part of my meal because they are my go to sweet flavor to go with the savory of the other breakfast items. The breakfast we had was cooked perfectly down to the over medium eggs and the side essentials. I will say that the pancakes were the lightest, fluffiest, most tender pancakes that I have ever eaten in a restaurant. Kudos to the guys back in the kitchen that were serving it up right because for a little hole in the wall this food was fantastic. I will say that if your close by and you don’t try them you are doing yourself and injustice !!

Had lunch with two friends and we ALL loved our meals. One of my friends usually has something she doesn’t particularly like but she liked her entire meal. Worth every penny.

First time eating here and I was very impressed with the menu and service! Our waitress was very polite and prompt and our food was delicious. Now, I only had cottage cheese, fruit, & biscuits(which would be really hard to screw up) but the cottage cheese is made in house, the fruit was perfectly ripe, cut to order, and thankfully wasn’t just your boring cantaloupe & honeydew combo, AND the biscuits were warm and delicious. My boyfriend had an omelette meal with fresh squeezed orange juice and he thought it was delicious as well. Not a speck left on his plate. There were so many things on the menu that I want to try! I will definitely come back here in the future and also try the Arcata location.

My family and I just went to this restaurant and I literally did not eat because it was that expensive, for a breakfast place anyhow, my husband got the smallest 3 egg let I have ever seen and my kids shared(because he is one) a grilled cheese with fruit, this meal was $ 7.19 by the way, I was going to order a $ 15 dollar burger before the waitress was rude to me. So for 1 kids meal and 1 adult omlet breakfast we paid 35 dollar(with tip). There was also by the way a $ 20 breakfast in the menu that is less food than a lumber jack slam at Denny’s. I’ll give one star for the tasty food. Beyond that, there was nothing about my two experiences at the Golden Harvest in Eureka this month to warrant going back. First, I’d like to note I’ve always had great meals and service at the Arcata location. Never a bad experience there. That was probably the reason I was so profoundly disappointed in the Eureka restaurant. To cut to the chase and spare you the agony of reading a tome, I’ll briefly summarize our experiences: Strike one: Weekday morning, right after opening. Second party to enter. Pros: seated quickly; coffee delivered right away. Cons: waited 15 minutes for the waitress to take our order; waited another half hour for the food to be delivered, this with a small number of patrons in the restaurant; no explanation from the waitress as to why things were taking so long and no checking back to see if we needed anything; small portions with high prices. Strikes two and three: Weekday at lunch. Restaurant moderately busy. Pros: seated quickly; drink order taken and delivered within a couple of minutes. Cons: my friend asked for an extra couple of minutes to decide on her meal. We waited another 15 minutes and had to flag the waitress down to order. In that time, she made eye contact with me, then went to nearby tables and took orders, leaving the room without stopping. When we saw her next, I had to purposefully get her attention to take our order; had to ask to get our drinks refilled; waited at least another half hour for our food; were both disappointed by the small portions; never got a check-in from the waitress after that, until she dropped off the bill. The only«harvest» at this place was from my wallet!

Not sure what’s up with all the bad reviews, but this place is so cute and yummy! When I’m old and retire, this is the kind of spots that I’d wanna hang out at in the morning. I never have time for breakfast and usually just skip right through it. The atmosphere here is very warm and welcoming. Very homey with friendly service. My friends and I ordered: $ 11.99 california benedict $ 13.99 fried chicken steak and eggs $ 5.99 two biscuits and gravy $ 12.49 large farm boy(pancakes, bacon, eggs) $ 3.99 small mocha(must get if you’re a coffee lover! very good!) Everything we ordered was so good with generous portions! Fast and friendly service. Servers came by to check up on us here and there and filled up our coffee and water. They’re all really happy which made my breakfast experience even better. Restroom is clean.

The food was okay. Not that this happens all the time but a hair was found in my friends French toast. Thought perhaps the meal would be comped or at least more empathy. Neither happened. Seems like a busy gathering place for the locals.

This is an excellent café. The portions are very generous and the food is delicious. The potato cakes were the best I’ve ever had. My boyfriend had an omelette that was amazing. Service was fast and friendly. The place is small and clean, conveniently on the 101. Do not miss this excellent brunch!

Well the only downside would be that it is pretty pricey here even by Humboldt standards. However, I have had great service every single time. Really friendly/nice waitresses who definitely worked together to make sure I had coffee, water, my order taken, and hot food. What I like about this place is the quality — the food is consistently good every single time and it is made with a really homey touch. Even though it’s a traditional café/diner style restaurant it is really homey and is nice and bright on the inside. For the people complaining about the floors — come on, it’s a restaurant that has tons of foot traffic, you can wash the floors every day but they will still look beaten up. By the way… amazing pancakes. Banana nut pancakes are to die for here :0

Horrible. Prices very high for what you get. My husband got a hamburger. It was the size of a small hamburger at burger king. They served sweet potato fries but didnt tell you that, I probably would have ordered something else. I got the chicken stripes that were half batter. The batter had so much pepper in it, it upset my stomach. It was served with ranch sauce, which was ranch dressing thinned with water. We paid $ 32 for that meal. we could have eaten at the Marina, for that price. We we tried it but never again. I agree with Anne about the flies. Never again!

Really nice brunch here today. The ambiance is a bit off but the food is good. We had good attentive service and were happy. One downside was that I had to ask for water. That should always be asked if not assumed.

Eureka location. I have been there twice and both times it was the same — awful. Filthy, flies swarming(I mean a LOT of flies in this restaurant), food took ages to arrive then arrived cold. If you look at the floors you’ll lose your appetite, just disgusting! FILTHY. And this is the area they want customers to see, right? I bet the kitchen is terrifying.

Food was great but there was hair in my food. When I brought it to the attention of the waitress I was told so our cooks are bald. That’s a lie. Then I was told it could be from a cat. I don’t own a cat. She was rude and really didn’t care that my meal was ruined. Other then the manager the place is great!

The food is consistently good. Any issues have always been addressed by staff with feedback going immediately to the kitchen. They have fresh squeezed juices and can make a decent coffee drink. Meat-eating and veggie options are available… And they make a great fresh made biscuit… Service has always been solid… Only dowside is the Eureka location is getting a bit rundown. They could use a deep clean to get rid of that lingering cafeteria smell… and they really need some new paint…

The service is terrible, they act like they don’t even want you there. The food is so-so and overpriced. Don’t order the small meals the portions are for a toddler! I’m tired of local joints thinking they can treat their customers poorly, but they don’t feel like they need to change since people still support them. This restaurant reminds me of that.

On a quick drive out of town, this gem popped up on Unilocal.Quick service. Lots of smiles and a speedy breakfast that didn’t sacrifice taste for speed. Diner style with a nice local atmosphere.

Another place vegans have blown up and for why? I do not know because vegan friendly is anything but what this place is. Vegetarian friendly perhaps, but there is a huge difference between being vegetarian and vegan when dining, my friends. After asking the waitress what could be altered, there wasn’t much. She was patient and informative and I give her much credit for that. Everything was pre-made so there wasn’t much to choose from except oatmeal and hash browns which is sort of becoming the salads and bread of dining. Receiving our meal took a while but it was quite crowded. My boyfriend complained of the water saying it tasted like unfiltered sink water but I had ordered fresh, squeezed orange juice which I think was false advertising. The portions were large, I will give them that but everything else was unsatisfying. Oatmeal wasn’t good, hash browns are hash browns and the tofu sausage I ordered, probably the only thing really vegan, was plain and dry. Extremely overrated and a waste of money and time. I hope this helps vegans in the future from making the mistake of trusting their«vegetarian» friends or reviewers who don’t know the difference between the two lifestyles.
