This used to be our family’s go-to place for a fun night, but it’s gradually been going downhill, and last night was so bad that I doubt I’ll be going back. We were charged $ 62.29 for three of us(included one beer and one glass of wine}. With a tip just over 10% the total came to $ 70. I ordered their grilled chicken sandwich with a side of clam chowder. Both were just so-so. The clam chowder, for which I had to pay $ 2 extra, came in a «cup» that was closer in size to a shot glass than a real cup. The sandwich came on a huge plate that looked almost entirely empty. In one corner was what looked like an empty hamburger bun, and next to it was a leaf of lettuce and a small slice of tomato(white in the center). When I lifted up the top of the bun I found a very small, thin, somewhat dry piece of grilled chicken — for $ 11.99. I’ve had much better chicken sandwiches in fast food places for less than half that amount. My wife and son also received very meagre portions — much smaller than what Gallagher’s used to serve when it was worth going there — and in my wife’s side salad she found a rotten piece of lettuce hidden at the bottom of the bowl.

Went there on a Friday night the service was so slow. It took 20 minutes for him to come take our drink order then another 20 for food. We got the clam chowder it had good flavor. My husband also got a fish platter the fish was over cooked my stake was cooked nice but was not impressed. $ 85 for two people that includes 1 beer and 1 Margarita. Will not be going back.

16.99 for 2 piece fish and chips is a bit pricey. The fries were good. The coleslaw was a bit on the bland side, tartar too heavy on the Mayo 7.50 for a bowl of chowder that tasted a little too fishy, without enough clam in it. It’s a good place, but not for the price they ask. Silverware would have made the meal better as well

This place has gone downhill. The food use to be plentiful for what you paid for. Now it tastes like previously frozen food tossed into a deep fryer, & you get to foot the bill. The Clam Chowder tastes like a fish vomited into a potato base, and you’d be better off eating chicken nuggets at Mcdonald’s for how small the Halibut is – that you nearly pay twenty dollars for. Avoid.

First thing to note, staff was very friendly. Hubby had the halibut fish and chips. Oh goodness. It was so good it’ll make your tongue slap your brain out. The fish was tender and flaky and the batter was nice and crispy. I had the Gallagher burger and it was a standard burger, cooked right to medium rare. Loved the atmosphere and would love to go when they do their live music. Highly recommend if you are ever visiting Eureka.

Garlic bread came out with heaps of raw garlic almost unedible, and when asked why he was putting a1 steak sauce in the bloody Mary he quoted«its for the flavor.»… I should have known better when he said he was up from the Scotia restaurant. If u haven’t eaten there(Scotia) then this may not make sense. It’s definitely not the same. Not even close. Even the chowder is different, and not that great. Gallaghers eureka has always been a win but it was off tonight.

One of the few places in town that was open on New Year’s Day! We were staying overnight at the Eagle House attached to the restaurant and were tired, hungry, and in need of a drink. Gallagher’s fit the bill, so we decided to spend some time taking in a Reuben sandwich, Celtic chicken, soups, and a couple of pints. The food was pretty good and the service was attentive. At one point, an older man came in to sing and play the guitar. His musical stylings were reminiscent of Willie Nelson. That was kind of cool. He didn’t stay long, as there weren’t many people in the restaurant and he stated he would like to go spend time with his wife. That was nice! The place is decorated with standard Irish pub stuff mixed with mining gear from the town’s heyday. A nice throwback!

Good food and drinks. Really like the vibe and the feel of the place. Prices are a little on the high side for me, but I’m trying to pinch my pennies. They had live Irish music the night I was there, too!

I ordered steak. I have not ordered a steak in a restaurant in probably 10 years. I ordered the New York steak smothered in mushrooms. When it arrived in was ½ an inch thick. Surprisingly they ask how I liked it cooked. I said medium rare. It is virtually impossible to cook a steak that is ½ an inch thick medium rare. It was medium well. It was not seasoned, no salt, no pepper. Instead of mushrooms I got half onions and half mushrooms. The sauce was good but there was over a cup of it. The green beans were not trimmed and included large portions of stem and brown spots on the tail ends which indicate lack of quality control. When I said something to the waiter he said that«That is the way green beans are served!» He also told us that is how they arrive, already prepped. I let him know that green bean stems are inedible. I put butter on my potato and 5 minutes later I took a bite and got the unmelted butter. The potato was not hot, just barely warm. He offered us dessert on the house but we turned him down so he comped our sodas… Our previous dining experience with them was much better. Things have changed, I am fairly certain they use Sysco Foods or Schwans.

Dogs will be a huge issue unless they are service dogs and you absolutely have paperwork. Gallagher’s Irish Pub is one of the nicest, cleanest and most neat pubs on the west coast. Everything is outdated and classic.

Ok so in writing this review let me 1st say that the server was very nice and helpfull. I decided to try this place because of so many rave reviews. I came for the fish and chips which were not very good at all. You could tell they were frozen and then microwaved possibly. They were not tasty and chewed like rubber and were not much bigger than a reguler. frozen fish stick. I wouldnt recommend this place at all for the fish and chips. Find somewhere else.

They are awesome! Served us late with kindness(weary travelers!), and their food was amazing. We had the best fish & chips ever! The fresh halibut was awesome — light batter, not greasy, delicious! We also had the portobello mushroom burger. Would definitely order both again. Can’t wait to go back and bring friends. Awesome service and great food ~ a winning combo :-)

While I cannot say it has the menu options I was specifically looking for, what they do have as far as Irish cuisine was fantastic. I was a bit turned off by the prices at first, but the quality, taste, texture, and portioning was well worth it Would recommend if you like European food with a few Irish dishes.

Authentic feel of an Irish pub, I say turn up the volume with some good olé jammin Irish Fiddle to fire up the vibe. Love that they have local brews and of course Guiness, but where’s Murphy’s Irish Stout? We were bellied up to the bar and the tender was awesome, chatty, inviting, and gave us small samples of beer without asking. I was a bit bummed they close at 9:00pm. But I get managing a business. I definitely recommend the Reuben Sandwich!!! We will be back.

I ordered the Reuben at the recommendation of the old timer that worked or owned the place and it was amazing! My coworker has been here before and said everything he tried was delicious and he was right!!! The meat on the Reuben was so tender and juicy and the bread was delicious as well. The sauerkraut was not overwhelming and blended well with the delicious meat

I have to say, this place has really improved over the past year or two. In the past, we didn’t go as often due to inconsistent service and food quality. But it seems like someone is paying attention and making improvements. We just went there for our anniversary(since we held our rehearsal dinner there for our wedding) and had such a nice time! I love the addition of music on certain days. We lucked out there, some nice Irish tunes which was fun. The food was great! It’s been at least 2 yrs since I had the reuben, because I had not been impressed… so I decided to try again. Wow! Big chunks of fresh corned beef, tangy kraut, really on point. My husband enjoyed his steak as well. The side salads actually have veggies, hooray! Of course the beers on tap are always a draw, I love that they now have RW Curtain beer. You can’t get that everywhere. And to top it off, the cute bearded guy who waited on us was super friendly and on it. Woop! Great job McGillicutty’s! haha my pet name since I can never remember Gallegher’s for some reason.
