We honeymooned here in September/October of 2014 and had an amazing time. It was so romantic! The lake is serene and the grounds are beautiful. The lake is smaller so it’s easy to take a morning and evening stroll around it to get your daily dose of nature. Our cottage was clean, comfortable, and adorable. I’d even say luxurious! The pictures on their website aren’t overselling– it’s really that perfect! We stayed in a pet friendly cottage(Gingerwood) with our two dogs, but you couldn’t tell at all that it was«pet friendly» like a lot of other places(no bad smells or stains). The amenities were fantastic, too– the kitchen is well stocked and the bathroom was nicer than the bathroom in my house! Ha! The location is really close enough to town(Eureka Springs) that you can drive in for food and activities, but it’s secluded enough to be away from all the traffic and noise. It was a truly perfect getaway and we plan on going back for an anniversary someday. The price was extremely reasonable, and their online reservation system was easy to use. On our last day there, Faryl(the cottage keeper who lives on-site and is very friendly) even texted us and invited us to come witness the birth of their new baby alpaca! It was such a cool experience and we were impressed that she had the presence of mind to invite the guests while she was serving as a midwife for the alpaca mama! HIGHLY, HIGHLYRECOMMENDED!!!

We stayed in the Gingerwood cabin for the weekend. It was the perfect get away to be able to relax in front of the fire and disconnect from the busyness of city life. The owner of the cabin really pays attention to the little details. All of the little things that we needed during our stay were provided(ie. corkscrew, foil and gas for grilling, firewood for the fireplace, etc) We went for a walk on Saturday to see the lake and saw a bald eagle perched in the tree. It was literally 10 feet away from us! We also went in the newly constructed cabins which were cutely decorated just like our cabin. On Sunday, we went to Thorncrown Chapel which was ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. Thanks for sharing your cabin in the woods with us! We really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at the Tom Sawyer Cottage. This is very well decorated and makes you feel right at home. Everything you could want in the kitchen for great cook-outs on the many decks. Our bedroom upstairs was very roomy and the bed was so comfortable we were able to catch up on some much needed rest. The property is well preserved and love the feel of mountain living right in town. Our friends had the master bedroom downstairs and said it was very spacious and the hot tub was a plus with the big window overlooking the lake. Our grill was out of gas but not the fault of the owners, just that the previous people didn’t say something. There is plenty of seating on several decks. The peaceful area made relaxing easy and when we wanted to do something in town, helpful books and notes made that easy as well. Thanks for preserving a piece of history.

We stayed in Bayberry on Lake Lucerne. All in all, this cottage is pretty awesome. The kitchen is roomy as well as the master and living room. The cottage feels a lot larger than the advertised square footage. Being so close to Eureka Springs made it very convenient to be able to get into town at a moments notice, and we were able to cleanup after any outdoor adventures back at the cottage before the next outing. The second bedroom is a little tight, but it works. One oddity was the location of the jacuzzi tub off of the second bedroom instead of the master. Parking was a bit tight for a large truck and you wouldn’t be able to fit two vehicles here. There is an awesome wrap around porch and deck that goes towards the water, but it does not reach the water. There are a lot of trees to provide privacy from the lake, but that also interferes with the view just a bit. You can fish from the floating gazebo area and a few other areas around the lake, but we were disappointed that we couldn’t fish from our own private pier which we were expecting to be able to do. Also, the doors for the master bedroom and bathroom were difficult to close and lock which could be an issue. Arrival is painless as you just walk into your cottage and the key is waiting. The cottage was very clean with comfy linens(beware down pillows and duvet if you have an allergy) and plenty of towels for our long stay. The décor in the cabins is very, very nice. We would probably stay in one of these cottages again in the future, but may try to pick a different one than Bayberry to have better access to fishing on the lake. AT&T cell service is almost non-existant around the lake. Free wi-fi Internet access available from the kitchen of Bayberry cabin(signal only seems to be accessible from kitchen). TV is an older flatscreen tube with VCR/DVD/Cable TV with many channels available.
