Pretty good breakfast spot. Not the best but well worth a stop in. Good service even though they were pretty busy. Seems like a local hit.

They had everything across the board for breakfast. I had the sweetest waitress help us. I haven’t been treated as good by a server in YEARS! Food was excellent! Will be back & would definitely recommend!

Disclaimer: I just joined Unilocal and I’m catching up on my reviews! I LOOOOVED this place when I lived in Eugene as a student(2008 – 2012). This place is always busy on the weekends, so you may have to wait a while, but I think it was worth the wait. I always got the potato pancakes with the scramble, which was essentially an omelette. Sooo good. I always got waited on by Cindy, who is a huge sweetheart. She always made sure I got sat with her once we noticed each other and took great care of me and anyone I was with. I miss eating my potato pancakes and having such a warm spirit around(: When I go to Eugene, I like to go here if I’m eating out for breakfast/brunch

I have been eating here since I was a little girl. I have always loved everything. My current favorite is the Irish omelette with potato pancakes on the side and bacon. OMG I could die just eating it. Who does not like corned beef hash stuffed inside a soufflé omelette with Irish cheddar? Potato pancakes are silky served with applesauce or sour cream. I like it with sour cream. They get their bacon(which is seriously the best I have ever had) at longs meat market. Their crepes are perfect and served in many different verities. I’m not a huge fan of the French toast. It’s not bad just not great. Home fries are also meh. Eggs Benedict is not home made hollendaise which is a crime. These are the only things I have negative to say. I am looking forward to trying their sourdough pancakes as I am a new sour dough fan. I seriously used to hate that stuff. Lol. I will be going there for brunch on Sunday and will be posting pictures then

Wow this was the best meal I’ve ever had hands down. Best eggs Benedict. Best banana pancakes. Best service. Love it. Our waitress Jennifer was a delight and food came out quickly as well. I will be returning frequently! Also I prefer this one over the Portland location, in Portland they only accept cash and here they take card as well. Lovely place highly recommend it.

Awesome service and great food! Ordered the short stack of bacon pancakes and a side order of scrambled eggs. Perfect place to grab breakfast if you’re close to the University of Oregon. The parking lot is on the smaller side but you should be able to find parking nearby.

Not nearly as good as the first OPH in Portland. This one is solid mediocre. Possibly the one in Portland sets an impossibly high bar? I got the same things I get in Portland, and they just let me down. I don’t know what the Eugene breakfast style or competition may be — so I can’t tell you if this is good for the local area. But if you’re used to the original Original — you’ll be disappointed here.

Very slow service but food was good. Staff were forgetting basic items like coffee, hot sauce, box to go, but were apologetic. It was not crowded when we arrived but mostly full when we left. I’d still eat there again. Wife’s apple pancake was the highlight.

Yeah well where do I start. If your hungry or in a hurry do not eat here. This establishment runs on 1 thing its location, next to the U of O. the service was horrific, slow inatentive. I guess if I had worn a Ducks shirt I may have been treated better. I had to ask for a menu the manager huffed and copped an attitude. The server took another 10 minutes to greet the table. After 5 cups of coffee and 2 trips to the restroom the food finally appeared.

I LOVE this place. Get the ham and cheese omlett and banana pancakes, with pecans and add whipped cream. Share it with a friend.

I am was impressed with the place and the people. Yes the bacon is big and taste really good. The pictures are justifiable. I would have try it a few more times before I can give it a good rating.

Not really sure why everyone raves about this place… Overpriced and bland. All the egg dishes have two ingredients in them maximum. Had to pour hot sauce all over my green chile omelette for it to be worth eating. My boyfriend got a sausage and spinach scramble which was better tasting after some salt and pepper. His pancakes were good but small. NOT worth it at all, you’re better off making breakfast at home. This place is perfect for you if you enjoy bland, boring flavors or are trying to decrease your sodium intake.

HOLYGIANTOMELETTEBATMAN! Their food is so good and SO filling, really enjoyed it. I tried the corned beef hash stuffed omelette and it was delicious. Their pancakes are like mom makes. This is the best breakfast spot hands-down.

In town with my Niece and Nephew, so we decided to try it out. Arrived to find a very bust restaurant, but were seated quickly. Service was fast and friendly. I tried the Southwest Green Chili and Sausage Omelette. It was good, I’m not a fan of baked Omelettes but this was not bad at all. Everyone else ordered Pancakes and they loved them. I’d return just for the great service.

We had breakfast here this past Saturday and I really enjoyed it. My husband got one of the specials, and I got some Sourdough Flap Jacks with soft bacon. His special, which was a sausage and cheese omlette, was delicious! It was loaded with flavorful ground sauage and oozing with cheddar cheese. The portion was huge, and he was unable to finish it. He did say that he felt it was a little rich, but thought it was pretty darn tasty either way! My flap jacks were spectacular! It’s a flavor I’ve never had before, and I must say that it’s one I’ll be happy to revisit! I love pancakes, they’re my favorite next to Eggs Benedict, but they can be a bit sweet(most American breakfasts are, unfortunately), but these were juuuuuuust right! Honestly, they didn’t even need to be topped with a little butter or syrup(though I did both!). My bacon actually came out soft, and it was nice and thick! There was no false advertisement there! I will be MORE than happy to try everything on this menu! After tasting my husband’s omelette I’m even curious to check those out. I’m not a big fan of restaurant eggs, but jeeze, it was great! Lastly, their coffee is perfect diner coffee. Nice, dark, and strong! It was a perfect complement to the sweetness of their menu fare!

Awesome is a first reaction with the selection of food on the menu. Some weird combinations of pancakes and condiments intertwined. I got a short stack of the pineapple pancake and a short stack of the bacon pancakes. YES! I said bacon pancakes(bits of it in the batter and sprinkled on top).Delicious!!! The wife got a corned beef egg pancake and a side of potato cakes. looked scrumptious! I would say a bit pricey but its pretty close to Oregon U. so its expected but not to bad overall a definite come to if your in Eugene.

If you aren’t getting a dutch baby, or an apple pancake… then you are just doing it wrong. Great service from servers that have been there for decades. This is our first choice for breakfast in Eugene. Never, ever let down. A bit pricey… but they are so busy they can do that.

I’m a sucker for any good breakfast and Eugene is blessed to have several brunch /breakfast options for the masses. Among those options is The Original Pancake House, a Eugene local staple that does a great job of dishing out some tasty breakfast classics. In this house of breakfast, pancakes are the name of the game and the househand claim to fame. It’s hard to turn down their old fashioned buttermilk variety, though its the blueberry that wins it hands down for me. People who are looking to experiment can shoot for the chocolate bacon or even the banana whipped cream variations, it’s all pretty tasty. And this is coming from a guy who doesn’t even really like pancakes. And if pancakes aren’t your thing, you might find some solace in their omelettes. Despite the fact folks may groan over the $ 10+ prices, it should be noted that each one is massive. They almost take after the pancakes for being so wide and round … might just be good enough to share. Throw in a crispy side of bacon and/or sausage and it’s a sure fired good meal. The service is on point and the weekend waits are never too long. It should be noted that their version of potatoes are homefries, no hash browns(doh!) to report of as of yet.
