The best tofu, the best tempeh I’ve ever had, sold at remainder prices on Tuesdays and Thursdays… Oh dear lord, I never knew it could be like this… So good I’m writing about it on Christmas.

I love Surata tempeh. I’m so happy it’s made right here in Eugene. I also love that you can go to Surata on Tuesdays and Thursdays and buy gigantic sheets of frozen tempeh for $ 8.50. This is literally one of the best deals in town. Just break off what you need and you’ve got your vegetarian protein — crumble-​able, sliceable, grillable, marinated yum. They also sell smaller packages of tempeh and tofu. They don’t always have all the flavors and their hours for these «dock sales» are limited, but who cares? You’re getting an incredible product, super cheap.
