Imagine everything you don’t want in a mover and this is that experience. Pick-up crew was 6 hours late, looked like pure ex-fellons, smoked in my front yard the whole time, dropped my possessions numerous times in front of me, complained the entire time about not having the right stuff to do the job, swore, didn’t take all of my things, made fun of my neighbors and then had the audacity to ask for a tip. Drop-off crew was 3 hours late and seemed generally okay. However, upon unpacking my 50″ plasma TV, the crew leader said«oh my, it’s destroyed.» They also didn’t have my floor lamp or vacuum cleaner. During the move, the company was completely unresponsive. I just filed a dispute with my credit card company and highly, highly recommend everyone stay away from them.

Horrible experience, choose another moving company! They are very difficult to get a hold of, and have put off the move for a week now, seemingly coming up with excuses as to why they are pushing the moving date further along. I understand tgat things happen, but after firing their whole crew as one of the excuses, doesn’t that say something in itself? They were supposed to be here today, saying tgey would come between 10am and 1pm. Around 2pm, we tried to call, leaving several messages and never got a return call. You think they would have the respect and curtesy of at least calling you to tell you the truck will be delayed… again. We thought they were very finicky on the phone and couldn’t get a hold of the same person due to them being«so busy.» All of the 5 star ratings and A+ ratings are lies, and we agree with other people who feel their own company put those ratings up just to balance out all of the negative ones. I would never give them the time of day nor recommend this company to handle your belongings. I can’t believe there’s not an option for zero stars…

BEWARE, unethical moving company! I received an initial quote of $ 1500 for a one room apartment. The movers showed up 2 hours late(after I called several times) and started to increase the price to $ 2600 based on a new ‘weight’ estimate and after they INSISTED on wrapping my sofa and dining chairs for an additional $ 200. After several delivery delays and numerous excuses, Northern Van Lines(USDOT-1147457MC-418133CID#; 4051123) delivered my furniture 2 weeks later than the 3 to 5 day promise date. ALL of my living room, bedroom and dining room furniture was damaged beyond repair. Included in the extensive damage to all of my furniture, are several large pieces of furniture and small boxed items that are missing. In addition to my missing items, other boxed items that belong to other customers have surfaced in this mess. Aaron Ramsey, if you are out there, contact me, I have your personal belongings. DONOTUSETHISCOMPANY! UPDATE:(05/09/2012): Still have not received an apology nor any money from Northern Van Lines. My claim is still«in process» nearly two months after I filed. I have no dining room chairs to sit on, my bed frame, bookcase & media counsel are still missing. UPDATE #2:(06/27/2012): Over three months since I’ve filed a ‘claim’ with Northern Van Line for my broken and missing furniture, still no response from NVL. I guess they plan to keep me waiting the 120 days they are allowed by law, instead of doing the right thing which is to at least offer me the pennies they plan to give me at a timely fashion. boo! We need more government regulations against horrible moving companies like Northern Van Lines. UPDATE #3(03⁄2015): I never rec’d a penny from this«company». Tried to sue but the address listed on the invoices is an empty lot. In all I lost over $ 10k.
