JC’s Laundry

I am here right now.
Your staff was ridiculously rude to me, (February 18^th, 2016. 9 pm). My laundry was in before the time of last call. He stated the laundry mat is open 16 hours a day and that I should make time to come in earlier because it is open for so long. I apologized citing that I work and go to school full time, to which he retorted that he had worked the entire 16 hour day.
Other patrons agreed that his comments were unnecessary and entirely unwarranted. Your staff needs a serious attitude adjustment.
I felt very unwelcome. This place 2 blocks from my place but now I know that there is a reason I drive all the way to Springfield to use Holiday Laundromat.
I personally feel that the employee treated me as if I had maliciously disobeyed a rule as a personal affront to him. This was not my intent.
Were his job done correctly, he would have informed me prior to beginning the load. My laundry was locked inside the machine with no way of ending the cycle early. I informed him that «trying to make me feel bad about it would not make the situation any better.»
Had I known my only options were to either a. take my laundry home sopping wet or b. leave my laundry over night at the establishment I would have obviously not washed my clothes there that night.
I understand long shifts are difficult but in order to work them you must maintain composure from the moment you clock in to the second you clock out. I should not be punished for someone’s inability to finish a shift with the customer service friendly attitude you should expect to be greeted with. Being that I have done my time in customer service I recognize that tact is required when dealing with patrons.
I believe this establishment would benefit greatly from frequent monitoring to ensure that patrons do not have the experience that I just had.
I will not remove my post but I will edit it to reflect my dealings with the owner, who is supposedly the employee’s son in law. We all have father in laws, I am thankfully lucky that mine will never besmirch the name of my business.

I’m going out of my way to write a review about a LAUNDROMAT, so that should be telling. A better descriptor for «JC’s» should be «a meeting place for religious freaks». Yes, the place has adequate facilities. No, I will never give them another penny of mine. The attendant is always there, meeting with people, and they openly and audibly rant crazy and inappropriate religious crap. I was in there with my young son and they were talking loudly and explicitly about child sex trafficking! With DETAILS! When I respectfully asked them to keep in mind that they’re saying these things openly in front of kids, and others who may not want to hear, they actually threatened me with a fight and justified themselves with loud BIBLE QUOTES. Whoa. I called the owner and my calls were never returned. I encourage all of you caring, sensible people, and devoted college students, to take your money and spend it elsewhere. I learned (the difficult and uncomfortable way) just exactly what the «JC» stands for. There are other friendly and «non-​denominational» laundromats in the immediate area.

I don’t know what the review below was all about. I use the $ 2.50 machines all the time (there is a whole row of them) and its always clean. Great place to go.

I am the owner of this laundry and our goal is to have everyone feel welcome and safe. Our laundry is well lit and all of our equipment is in good working condition. We have the fastest wifi in town!

Formerly Spin City. Where is the hot water?! I was charged the additional money to have a hot water cycle run through and the hot never showed. How can I tell?! It is a top loading washer! You can access the wash at anytime during the cycle.
If you are going to charge people for hot water, then provide it. My clothes came out filmy, the soap never really washed out and the clothes are stiff. The facility was fairly clean though, so if you want to use a cleaner laundry facility without having clean clothes, then this place is for you. I personally like not having to deal with stiff filmy clothes. Never going back here again.
