Brian and Roma at Action automotive have been very helpful whenever I have had trouble with my car. I recently bought a used Mini Cooper and I feel like I can trust their staff in their expertise and giving me a fair quote. They usually pick me up and drop me off at work. Recently they even picked up my dog with me. They have been able to get my car done the same day a few times now. I am very impressed by the speed, professionalism, and warmth of their customer service. Highly recommended!

They will give you a ride to and from the shop! Hard to beat that!

Came here today with pontiac sunfire issues and was blown away by the friendly & speedy service. The price was very reasonable, actually wayy cheaper (and days quicker) than what I was rudely/​snobbishly quoted over at Shelby’s on the phone for some electrical problems, (where I was headed until I did a little more research online). Very glad I did! This company even gave me a ride to and from my home to pick up my car, which I think was awesome of them to offer. All of the issues were resolved in a few hours and my car works great again for approx $ 150 total. Their employees know what they’re doing. I’m beyond satisfied with the entire experience and I will be back here with any more car issues in the future. Finally found a place in Eugene I can trust with my car. Thank you for the pleasant experience!

We had car trouble out of town and saw that Action had good reviews and worked on Volvos. They also provide transportation which is awesome ride with a nice lady who works in the office. They fixed our timing belt and water pump in less than a day so we could get back on the road. I would highly recommend Action.

My mechanic in Portland directed me here. I had a chewed-​through power steering line and was out of town. Action had me come in immediately and creatively solved my problem and had me safe to drive home! Wonderful experience. Reasonable price under estimate.

They seemed really great telling me all kinds of things they could do. I finally get my broken vehicle to them and all of a sudden the quote doubles and there charging me more for the estimate then they said.
They told me one price to fix it and then came back with all these other parts I needed. Turns out the first place I was at beat there price with these *special parts included. I said I can’t afford that. Ill have to take my truck and all of a sudden I have a estimate fee to pay that’s more then what I was told. Then, the day I go to get my vehicle the fee doubles! Why? Because of labor and fluids they had to add in.
Trust me, shop around and you will find a better price that you can trust will be the price when you go to get your car!

I was in the market for a car and I brought them two cars for a pre-​purchase checkup. Both Craig and Bryan were wonderful. They saved me from buying a lemon. The service was prompt, welcoming and totally worth it. Bryan even helped me narrow down what kind of car i should get for the money i was willing to pay. And after i bought the car I wanted they checked it without charging me to make sure the dealer made the repairs he claimed he made. They are the most honest mechanics I have met.

I was visiting my son who is a student at U of O and I took his truck to fix at Action while he was in class. Their Service Advisor, Brian, took really good care of us. Their customer service was excellent! They also took me back to the hotel and picked me up when the truck was ready. Being 8 hours from home and from another state, being helped by an auto shop like Action was great. I would strongly recommend this business to anyone.

They said my alternator was bad and quoted me a price of $ 458.00 to rebuild it. I had already checked around and found most rebuild jobs to be around $ 100.00. Turns out the place they called to have it rebuilt I ended up calling and told me it was gonna be $ 115.00. That place is Shelby’s Auto Electric and he is awesome. There are two bolts holding in my alternator, it takes me 3 minutes to remove. Also had a high idle and they tried selling me a $ 200.00 system cleaner. And my accelerator cable seems a fit soft they told me $ 258.00 to order and «rerout» the new cable. The cable price is 32.00 and installs in less than five minutes with two bolts. Needless to say I left owing 200.00 in diagnostic work, even though when I asked him if they checked the codes on the high idle he looked stunned and was like uhhhhhh yeah those codes don’t tell us much. I doubt if they even checked but they charged me 80.00 to check even though big O tire does it for free. If someone didnt know better they would’ve been taken. I also find it odd how all of their reviews are 5 stars and that’s probably because they have a reviewing agency runnig their reviews. Plus all their reviews are old, I’m very sceptical as to the legitimacy of some of the reviews. But they were nice if that counts for anything. Does anyone know of good mechanics around Eugene?

Highly recommended. Single mom of five children I have had many car problems with different cars always fixes them fast, and will be fair and honest. Call Craig he will hook you up and you will be satisfied.

Craig’s great and his guys are extraordinarily competent. He correctly diagnosed a weird problem with our transmission and saved us a lot of money by doing so. He helped us source parts and was extremely diligent and patient along the way. Couldn’t recommend the place more.

These guys seemed nice enough, sure. But they fell short of my professional expectations. To start, they gave me a nice low quote of about $ 150 for a new transaxle seal, so after calling around to compare, I finally called back to set up an appointment and confirm the quote, which suddenly doubled. I questioned them on it, they said it was because they didn’t realize my car was an automatic. I call them back later with an estimate from the next lowest repair shop (at $ 200), and Action tries to tell me that THEY gave me that estimate. I should have stopped right there and gone somewhere else, but I’m young and dumb, so we settled on $ 200.
So they get the job done; great. I get the car back the next day, and the seal is still leaking. I take the car back in, they take a look and find that my car has an outer AND an inner seal, and they only changed the outer one which was apparently fine. Now they had to order a whole new seal package for the transaxle housing. I’m OK with the fact that it was expensive (tacked on another $ 200), and I’m almost OK with losing my car for about four days total. I’m not OK with them not catching the real source of my leak when it’s right there in front of their faces and doing the job right the first time.
tl;dr — Nice guys, but gave me the runaround on estimates and didn’t fix the problem the first time around. Won’t go back.

We were visiting from out of town, for Thanksgiving. Headlight wasn’t working, they found it was just a fuse and fixed it without charge. They called it giving a little for Thanksgiving. With such honesty and helpfulness, we would be regulars if we were local. Thanks guys!
