Pollo Tropical

I went into this pollo tropical after work at about 10:15pm. Forsure the best fast food option after 10pm. I ordered the tropichop and was happy with how big the portion was and how fresh all of the ingredients were even being so late! Chicken was full of flavor! (: This was only my first time at a pollo tropical but will be back very soon and from this experience I recommend it to anyone looking for a fresh, filling meal that really gives the Caribbean feel

First time eating at pollo tropical. This place had attentive cashiers, but when i ate my food the rice was hard and crunchy;the chicken was dry as well as pretty much everything else in my tropichop. Could’ve been a random occurrence but for the price the food def should not be dried out and crunchy.

I have to give this not quite fast food restaurant 5 stars because of one employee, so I’m really just giving this woman 5 stars. I recently injured my foot and she was so kind and helpful. She would refill my drink, carry my food and purse, and even helped me back out to my truck. Great service can make or break an experience, even if the cashier gets the order wrong, someone being nice and kind always makes it better.

Not many places are open past 10pm. Pollo tropical advertises that they’re open until 11pm. It’s written on the door. We arrived at 10pm, there were people eating in the dining area, and the door was locked. Drove around to the drive thru, sat there for 3 minutes and nobody greeted us over the loudspeaker, so we left. I wonder if the owner knows that his restaurant is being managed this poorly.

Taste good :-) all the tables were dirty but condition doesn’t affect my taste experience unless it’s horrible and this wasn’t bad.

For a fast food place, they have a unique menu and the food seemed like it was cooked fresh. We went twice and tried their salads, both fresh n tasty, their green beans were fresh and crispy yet yummy, and the chicken was delicious! I had the Caribbean soup which was unique and flavorful.

Good food, especially for fast food, but the service was eh and the place was dirty.
Food– I got the ½ chicken with Mac and cheese and rice and beans. The half chicken was cooked very nicely, seasoned well, and for $ 8 for half a chicken, it was well worth it. However the chicken was not of the greatest quality, some of the meat was really dark. The sauce bar was a bit of a joke, because the only sauce that didn’t taste like tobasco or McDonald’s bbq was the garlic cilantro sauce, which was good but basically just ranch with garlic. The fresh salsa also wasn’t bad, but what’s the point of salsa if they don’t have chips? I know chips aren’t a Caribbean thing, but it seems like a waste having such good fresh salsa and no chips. I know I’ve said quite negative stuff so far but considering the price it is really good.
Service– Without this category lacking this could’ve been a five star experience. The restaurant was very dirty, and the kitchen looked like a McDonald’s kitchen. The lady who took our order didn’t even bother to look up at us. I was like, are you ready to our order?, after five minutes of just standing at the counter, and she said yes while continuing to have her back to us as she was stacking cups. So we went ahead and ordered and as she tried to explain the menu to my grandpa she was extremely rude. Give the guy a break please, and do your job without pouting. Fortunately the lady who cleaned our table and said goodbye was nice.
I would recommend going through the drive through for a fresh fast food meal. Only go in to get the fresh salsa and garlic ranch from the sauce bar.

Figured we’d give this newer location a try and Pollo another shot. Last experience at another location was good food, but poor service. When we entered around 8 the staff were frustrated and literally cursing at each other while we were waiting in line. When we stepped up to order the cashier rudely shook their head at us and said they were out of nearly everything we planned to order, including chicken, pork, and white rice. How is a chicken eatery out of chicken? We were only 1 of 3 groups in there and there was plenty of staff. When asked how long it would take, the cashier said at least 25 minutes. Clearly nobody there cared in the slightest. The place was an absolute mess. We’ll never return to Pollo again. It’s a shame because it’s a great concept, but they just can’t seem to get it together.

Amazing fresh food that comes out quickly and is very reasonably priced. They even have lighter options! Favorite sauces are the fresh salsa, pollo pollo, pineapple rum, and cilantro garlic! The chicken was flavorful and juicy, as was the pork. A must try!

I ordered the ¼ chicken with citrus salad from the LITE menu. The chicken was flavorful and moist. Our entire famjly enjoyed our meals and also loved the sauces. Will definitely come here again.

Pollo Tropical is a place that I will be coming back to for lunch and dinner in the near future. I enjoyed the wings, tropichop, and the wrap/​quesadilla. My favorite part of the experience were the sauces. Wow! Those sauces are awesome, especially that garlic cilantro sauce. I could pour that stuff over everything. The staff was friendly. I enjoy the quick service feel with the food being brought over to the table.
I know the quinoa is only available for a limited time, but I hope they keep it on the menu. There quinoa has a great flavor with the seasoning and veggies they added to the quinoa.

The service here is very friendly — on par with most Florida restaurants. A women with a tablet was taking orders in the drive-​thru. She was helpful and patient has I looked over the menu.
I ended up with the pineapple chicken wrap and the Gauva Pulled Pork sandwich. One had waffle fries (Mmmm) and the other had Mac N Cheese (ok). My mom and I split the sandwiches and we both agreed that the pork was better and had a lot more flavor. I also tried the Tres Leches cake which is rich and filling. It’s a nice offering because not a lot of places serve it.
I prefer the food to McD’s. I would go back.

Foods great, won a coupon for free family meal after spinning the wheel! :) and got my caricature done, with henna tattoo!
