Passing thru on vacation and will definitely be back! Unbelievable food and great service, highly recommend the shredded beef stuffed sopaipilla with green chilies!

Been coming here for years. This is an annual stop. I can only give it five stars are we wouldn’t stop every year.

Saturday-morning breakfast. The staff was professional but unenthusiastic. The atmosphere is clean, modern and airy. I ordered Huevos Rancheros. The food arrived quickly but it wasn’t hot. It wasn’t cold, just barely warm. I ordered the eggs over-medium. They were over-easy and very runny. Yuck! The hash browns were cold in the middle. The green chili was good. The coffee was almost hot but kind of weak. Prices were reasonable. Overall, I’m a bit disappointed. It seems they don’t cook breakfast to-order. By that I mean, since the food arrived very quickly and it was barely warm, I suspect everything was pre-cooked(including the eggs) and put under a weak heat lamp.

My favorite Restaurant in Española. The lamb chops and the lamb costillas are excellent.

Maybe I need to give it another chance. I want to. I want to give it another chance but every time I go its just not how it use to be. They use to be where we went for the true local flavor. Years ago Angelina’s took over Emilio’s. That was back in the 80’s. After a while they built the new building. That must have been 25 years ago(or abouts.). We went on a Sunday morning. The after church crowd. They were busy but not as busy as the other places around town. Wait staff: There was a line at the door and plenty of tables. Inefficient. There seemed to be a confusion around the wait staff. And with and around the meal, unattentive. We sat at a 2 seat table. There was a pony wall to the left with some nice decorations, but everything was dusty. We were left alone. I would have loved a cup of coffee but nobody came. Finally, when we got service, I ordered my coffee, and our Huevos rancheros(xmas). The food came pretty quick, along with the the coffee(but with the meal). The eggs were over cooked(I wanted over easy) and the chile was without taste. So the service: 1 star. The food: 1 star. the speed of delivery: 4 stars.

Food was OK but we’ve had better in Santa Fe and Albuquerque. Lamb costtillas were crisp and tasty. I’m

Stopped in for a late light lunch. Split the Chicos and house salad. Never heard of Chicos before… a bowl of small hominy in broth with stewed pork served with sopapaillas and fabulous red and green chile. I will be back.

Spanish food can be a little too much on the spicy side, but i have to admit their sopapillas & beans taste great ! It’s a good place to each over all & prices r reasonable, they just need some work for their atmosphere.

The atmosphere isn’t the best but the food is great and the prices aren’t bad. The lamb is very popular. All the New Mexican food is very good. There’s a reason you can’t find a parking spot for Sunday lunch.

I have had many meals at Angelina’s. The food is very good northern NM food. Always at the top of my list when I am in Espanola, NM.

The food was so good. When I come to visit my parents I always come here. Their food is like grandma use to make. Today’s service was fabulous too. But! Yes but! I noticed since last time I was here in Sept 2014 the outside of Angelina’s is looking a wee bit dirty. I still give it 5 stars because of the good food

Stopped here for a late lunch on our way back from Ojo Caliente. Very good food and service. Friendly and attentive. I ordered the beef enchiladas; he ordered the chile rellenos. Both of us decided on red chile. Very distinct flavor. I’m not a huge fan of New Mexican cuisine in general(I was raised in the Pacific Northwest where chiles are virtually non-existant) but this was very good. In the four years I’ve lived in New Mexico, it has taken me a while to develop a taste for chile. Almost always prefer the red to the green. Angelina’s red chile is very flavorful; right up there with El Paragua. He said the chile rellenos were delicious; two giant green chiles stuffed with cheese and smothered in red chile just as he prefers. The sopapillas were perfect. They brought us a basket of four. After demolishing our meal, we were able to eat one each so the two remaining sopapillas are coming home. Looking forward to repeat visits; would like to try the carne adovada next time.

5-stars for the Red Chili Caribe Sauce. Awesome! I could eat it on anything, mmmm. Unfortunately, this time the Carne Adovada was not great. I think they took yesterday’s Adovada and simply threw in some extra pork to extend it. Some of the pork was over-cooked, but most was undercooked and certainly not fork tender as I needed a knife to cut up the cubes of meat. And, it still had a lot of fat that wasn’t fully rendered. Would have complained, but they had just gotten busy and I figured they can’t recook pork stew anyway. Would order something else next time. However, their Sopapaillas were super tasty, especially to mop-up the Caribe Sauce.

To me this is the very best example of northern New Mexico cuisine at it’s finest. Almost everything on the menu is different in some from the normal tourist joints. The soapapillas are the lightest and best ever made. They have lamb on the menu and the ribs are to die for. If you really want to try traditional NM food this is worth the drive from Santa Fe.

Our favorite place to eat when me, my Mom, and Uncle go to visit my Great Grandma. I really love their food here I always order the lamb burger and it’s always been delicious! They also have the best sopapillas here!

I came here with about 12 family members on the weekend after Thanksgiving. As I understand it, this place was highly recommended by friends of the family. The food was quite good! I ordered the stuffed sopaipilla with carne adovada. I really, really enjoyed the red caribe sauce/chile! I don’t think I have ever had anything like that before, so delicious! My family members didn’t seem to enjoy their food as much as me though. I know the ribs are supposed to be good but my dad really didn’t like them at all, and he’s cooked amongst the best restaurants in Santa Fe(so he knows a thing or two about cooking). Nearly everyone in our party made a comment that the layout/décor of the place… left something to be desired. I think this place used to be a barn judging by the shape and the tables look really cheap. Also, I’m pretty sure we were sitting right under a bug zapper. The waitress was really brief with us, not super friendly at all. She did do a good job of getting the orders correct, so far as I could tell. No free chips and salsa to start the meal?!?
