The Hummingbird

Needed a graduation lei for my sister in law several months ago. Drove all over the city and most didn’t have any. And the ones I did find were in such bad shape. Decided to go to IHOP one morning and noticed Hummingbird florist several steps from the IHOP doors. I said to myself, «Why not»? So I walked in there and asked if she had any graduation leis. She said «no» but then showed me some orchids that she can make in to leis for me. There’s was a refrigerated box and it had white orchids, purple, and blueish orchids. She offered to make me a lei while I ate at IHOP. After breakfast, I walked over and was so amazed at the end product. She did such an awesome job. Her husband even offered to put it in a box for me so it wouldn’t be damaged on our way home. I paid $ 32 for a fresh orchid lei. I picked two orchid strands one blue-​ish/​purple and one blue. We received so many compliments on it. I guess it was more unique than I thought. The lady was so accommodating, and I’m so grateful. Will update with a photo of the fancy lei shortly…
