This place pretty much raised me as a kid. I went there when I was a kid, and now that I’m out of college, I still go back to my hometown to Pan Paulitas. Everything they sell is superb, fresh, tasty, and cheap. I especially like the bolillos rellenos– the cheese, ham and jalapeño filled bolillo roll. They are the perfect savory treat in the morning and afternoon. Their other sweet pastries are also amazing. My favorites include anything in the shape of animals, the conchitas with the shell pattern, the biscuits, and the horn shaped pastries. Seriously, this stuff is amazing.

Nice small bakery with a good selection and great prices. I tried a sugar raised donut first. It was very good. It was denser than donuts you get at Winchells or Krispy Kreme thus more filling. The flavor was not quite as sugary but I liked it. Then I tried the concha. It was very good. The bread part was nice and fresh and the sugar on top helped give it a great overall flavor. I was told by Jacque the yellow cake is awesome so I’ll try that next time. This is the best Mexican bakery I’ve found in the north county and is in my top 3 for San Diego.
