Wonderful light lunch but filling, very refreshing, and the breads were homemade and delicious. The ice tea was great and the service was outstanding and on point! Will definitely be back with friends.

If you’re in Escondido and you want something to eat, don’t stop here. They’re going out of business and it’s not hard to figure out why. We came here based on the rave reviews, must be family and friends. Restaurant was dirty and service was slow.

This place is a gem! Incredible warm chicken salads and reliable service. I have to pick up lunches for work meetings so their great service and the fact that the food is a hit makes my job much easier! I am trying to go gluten free so it’s nice to find a place with a passion for making yummy GF food. Cheers!

After a long time away, I felt that I needed to give this well rated restaurant another try. My first experience wasn’t good. I came for a late lunch on Monday around 1:45, I would have guessed the lunch crowd would have cleared out by then, but they were still finishing up their food. Initially things were not looking better than last time, we had to wait about 10 min to get menus and acknowledged, followed by another ten min to place our order. The waitress was working hard and it must have been tough to run the place with only three staff doing everything. She was polite and helped my girlfriend and I pick items we would both like. Unfortunately they were out of caramelized onions, but she mentioned that early on so we weren’t too disappointed. In the end we ended up with two sandwiches one gluten free and other with potato bread. I had the gluten-free one and it was amazing. Not only was the bread tasty and without that nasty sad like texture of many store bought GF loafs, but the filling was delicious as well. I had a cup of the tomato bisque and it was good, nothing really unique about it, but delicious. The lemonade was also wonderful and I love that they provided free refills. I’m very happy that I came back, I see now what everyone is raving about.

My grandma just took me here for lunch and I’m in love! We shared the Original Warm Chicken Salad, fresh bread, and the La Farfalla Cheese Steak sandwich. It was all heavenly! You can tell that all the ingredients are fresh as well. I will definitely return!

First time in and definitely won’t be the last. Delicious food, great service, friendly and informative staff. We were a group of 5, got seated with minimal wait, all of our dishes were so tasty from the starter salads with homemade dressings to entrees(khalua pork, basalmic wild salmon, warm chicken salad). Desserts were dangerously good(rhubarb pie & cheesecake w/homemade caramel, toffee brittle, with pears) and would have never guessed they were gluten free. Love how everything is made fresh in house and great care is taken for dietary restrictions/food sensitivities. My new fav café!

This review is past due— Terry and her staff were incredible in catering our 35 person wedding reception. This is after we had to cancel the 1st time due to a paperwork snafoo at our church. Terry was so understanding and even reimbursed some of the money. When we did have our wedding 7 Mos. later ATerry hit it out of the park with beef tenderloins, lemon chicken, salad & green beans, rolls, water, soda, cake— my family raved about the buffet. Thank you Terry!

I used to work across the street from them when they first opened and I quickly became a regular. I used to eat there at least twice a week but then I got a job somewhere else. I don’t go to Escondido that often anymore but when I do I make sure to stop here for lunch. I usually order a sandwich or piadine. Make sure you get the potato salad instead, it’s worth the extra dollar. They have THEBEST potato salad I’ve ever tasted. Even my husband agrees and he usually isn’t a potato salad fan. The house rolls are also perfectly baked every time. I also enjoy their pizza soup on cold days and the salads are good too. The ingredients are always fresh and the atmosphere is great. The staff is friendly and I only wished I still worked close by. If you’re looking for a new place for lunch, give La Farfalla Café a try. You won’t be let down.

After much searching for gluten-free options, I decided to give this place a call. I called and the gentleman that I spoke to was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable when it came to celiac disease and gluten intolerance. Surprisingly(and rare) they utilize a separate kitchen for all gluten-free items which is nice and avoids cross contamination. With one-day notice they were able to fulfill my order for a luncheon(20 people) including a gluten-free cake! Now for taste… I have eaten a lot of dry, nasty gluten-free food. This place provides no such thing. The gluten free bread was light and people who didn’t know it was gluten free couldn’t tell it was any different. I ordered turkey, ham, roast beef, and tuna sandwiches and they were all amazing. The salad dressings(also gluten free) were spot on and delicious. The potato salad was better than any I had ever had and the hummus and veggies were a big hit. The cake(OMG…the cake!!) was HEAVENLY! I got a vanilla cake with whipped cream frosting and fresh berries. I myself am a baker and I don’t think I could have done any better. The cake was moist, not crumbly at all, and the frosting was nice and light. I will definitely be making this place a regular spot. Thank you La Farfalla for an amazing lunch!

Very impressive sandwiches. I highly recommend the turkey with cheese it’s superior to some of the other sandwiches I’ve tried. This place is little and you can miss it easily. Worth finding though! Happy eating! !!

This place was a little out of the way from where we were trying to get to but it ended up completely worth the detour. Everything was delicious and freshly made. The Piadine are ridiculously good. One of our party had a few food allergy issues and they were really accommodating and helpful in getting her something that she could both eat and really enjoy. If we didn’t live three thousand miles away, we’d be there all the time.

Charming little place that me and my husband visited for dinner. We split the large osso bucco which was a perfect portion once you add in the side and the salad. Everything was hot and tasty! I recommend a reservation if you’re gonna try them for dinner because it’s a tiny place. Looking forward to coming back for lunch and to try some desserts!

Absolutely delicious, great atmosphere, and really nice staff. The restaurant probably can seat under 20 people max, but the food is so good that I would probably sit on the sidewalk indian style to eat if necessary… GREAT Piadina’s, my favorite is the greek with feta, chicken, lettuce, tomato, kalamata olives and italian dressing. Delicious.

The main reason I went to La Farfalla Café was to try the Chicken pesto panino and the warm chicken salad. Oh my, it was Sooooo amazing! So much flavor so fresh and the service was great! Place located in Escondido called La Farfalla Café. What a charming and fabulous place! Wow, I just can’t say enough about that place that had Gluten Free items on their menu. Of course when I hear of such things I HAVE to check it out! La Farfalla Café is a quaint place nestled in between some other shops on Orange Ave. It is quite small and looks to hold about 26 people for inside dining. It feels very family dinerish and home like. I personally loved the ambiance. If you haven’t been you need to try it, you won’t be disappointed :)) The prices are amazing! I am getting hungry just thinking about it! ;)

Goody! With many thanks to Groupon for getting me here, this tiny tiny place in a non-descript area of Escondido. We parked on the street and peered in the window until they opened at 11. Only open for business on weekdays, and only for lunch, except for dinner on Friday. Why the limited hours you say? She(Terri) is a caterer first, restauranteur second. Ahhh… but a very fine chef. A shame we can’t clone her. We had a magnificent lunch, complete with Tuscan bean soup(herb-y, filled with veggies too), organic baby green salads(we tried the oil and balsamic and the creamy italian dressings– to die for), and one order of meatballs(could not tell it was ground turkey) and pasta, plus an order of rosemary chicken and pasta. Absolutely no regrets! And scraping the bottom of the bowl to get every ounce of her homemade sauces, her fresh out-of-the-oven bread was not to be missed. The grand finale, dessert. A slice of lemon meringue pie, also fresh out of the oven, and a gluten free carrot cupcake smothered in cream cheese frosting. Everything was so fresh, so homemade, seasoned so beautifully, and nice sized servings, this wins the prize for best lunch spot in Escondido. I look forward to coming back. I only wish I had remembered to take pictures. Once the food came, I musta went into a coma.
