My coworkers introduced me to this place. To my surprise they have dinakdakan! I havent had that since my college days in manila. I rarely cook filipino food at home and this is a great place to get that home cooked filipino food. Reasonably priced and large servings. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends. Try the dinakdakan and the turon!

Closest Filipino food place to our house — always a good amount of choices when my mom & I are craving some(and too lazy to make it)!

When I first saw the name I didn’t realize that this was a Filipino place! They have Filipino groceries — all of the usual goodies, but the store is on the small side. They also have a hot food counter where you can pick out a few house made dishes to take home or eat in the modest dining area there. The bbq looked really good! Mainly though we came for halo-halo. It’s not on the menu, but they will make it for you! Wasn’t bad at all and was a good way to cool off after moving heavy boxes all day. Oh, also I ordered turon and they made them fresh for me — so delicious!

Best Filipino that I’ve had in a really long time! Everything was great! They even have a little market inside. And the place was packed! That’s always a good sign :)

Ive seen this place for awhile but never called my attention. Mostly because it doesnt even look like a restaurant from the outside. And«K & K Orient Valley» doesnt help much to identify it much as a restaurant. Ididnt know what to expect and I didnt have high hopes for this joint. It was a warm daywhen I came in and as soon as I walked in I felt the mugginess immediately, apparently they have no air conditioning here. Which really ruins it for dining in. I feel bad for the employees. Im sure they have a/c but they probably try and keep everything as cheap as possible. That kind of scares me. I picture diluted hand soaps and cheap 99cent cleaning agents. I walk up to the food bar and there is 4 employees behind the counter. 2 are eating!(Food safety in San Diego doea not allow that) and the other 2 are just talking away. Finally I asked a lady that was eating if she can help and she said«oh you want to order?» … So I ordered the 2 entrée for about $ 7. It comes with pancit(noodles) or rice. I ordered Pancit with Pata in a dark sauce(no clue what the actual name was, I couldnt understand her) and I got the chicken adobo. The pancit was good but I would much rather have chow mein lol. Turns out im not a big fan of Pancit. The pata had a mix of tender meat, fat, and tough meat. It was ok with me but the sauce it was given in had a wierd consistency, what made it worse was that the actual Pata was cut into tiny pieces so it made it feel even nastier when you put it in your mouth. The lumpia is good but they always serve this cold! It makes it chewy. Its cheap tho, $ 2 for 5 pieces. If you buy it I recommend throwing it in the microwave for a few seconds. The sweet and sour sauce they give for the lumpia is just wierd its almost gelatin like. Maybe they throw some pork fat on it and if they do they should serve it warm. Not a fan thought. I do recommend you try the chicken adobo and the chicken in coconut sauce. The coconut sauce is really tasty. Its almost as if everything had it down side here tho. I hate hate hate hate the fact that they cut the chicken in so many little pieces, bone and all. Why not just use boneless chicken thigh? Imagine having to go through every bite to get all the bones out of your mouth. Yeah it really sucks! A single thigh seems to get cut up to 4 times. Its ridiculous to do that if you ask me. Hope no one ever chokes. I noticed something really really wierd when paying for my food. At the counter they have what seems like pancit with shrimp. Shrimp! Just sitting there on the counter at room temperature for hours! And they also have mackerel just sitting there. That is sooo not cool. Someone can get really sick from that. All in all I will not be coming here anymore. The service sucks, the food handling is Terrible, and the food is just meh. Sucks because it was so close to home. Peace out cub scouts.

K & K Orient Valley is a nice local spot in Escondido to get some Filipino grub. This place is a great option and beats going to the Orient Valley in PQ. There are plenty of food options for dining as well as a little grocery store inside for other items such as pandesal bread, etc. I come here frequently for the sisig and turon! The SISIG here is top notch and pretty tasty. It has a nice crisp and is tangy with a little spice. Pure goodness! The TURON is always really great and a hit at parties! It has the perfect blend of sweetness from banana inside and the sweet glaze from outside the turon, and it always has the crunch factor. YUMYUM. Each bite is addicting :)

Had a taste for some Filipino food and after looking through Unilocal decided on this place because it was close to my job. I will say that this is the first time I’ve had Filipino food from an establishment, every other time I’ve had it, it has been in someone’s kitchen so maybe my expectation was set too high. When I went in I was greeted right away and the women who helped me were very pleasant. The food left a lot to be desired. Everything looked like it had been sitting there a while but when I asked the woman putting together my plate said that it was«all fresh». I ordered a plate with pancit, pork on a stick and some mixture of pork and potatoes. I also asked for some lumpia. The pancit had parts that were dry and crunchy and the veggies in it were all soggy. The pork on a stick was fatty in the middle and the ends were burnt so the majority of it was wasted. The pork and potato mixture had tons of grease and the lumpia, lol, all I can do is laugh because I assume what they gave me was a joke. Overall this place was a huge disappointment and I will never be back. The fact that I was greeted right away and that the women who helped me were very pleasant is the only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of just 1.

Ok… I love this place. I am Filipino, so I know what Pinoy food is supposed to taste like. I’ve been in north S.D. for 7 years(Poway/RB) area, and have been so disappointed in most of the ethnic restaurants… so whitewashed. Coming from L.A., and I mean metropolitan LA, I had the luxury of authentic international food. S.D. is lacking in general(except down south) but my family and I so thankful we found this place. It’s our go to Pinoy food place, aside from me cooking. The food is definitely authentic… we will come back over and over again. Love the mini grocery store inside too. If you all in Escondido, and have a hankering for Pinoy food like Ma or Lola, this is the place to go.

Before my mom knew this place existed, we would drive from Valley Center to rancho Penasquitos to get Filipino food for parties. It is pretty nice not having to drive far to get some Filipino food. This place is in the Stater Bro shopping center. This place has authentic Filipino food. Home food that your mom would make. I come here usually for lechon, lumpia, okoy(can’t spell), and turon. The food is good. I usually don’t like turon, but they’re turon is delicious! It’s nice and thin, easy to eat. We always bring it to family parties and it’s gone pretty fast. My mother in law who lives in Chula Vista(where there are lots of Filipino restaurants) asks me to bring it over. You also can eat here for a meal if you want. They have tables you can eat at. Don’t expect nice seating though. They also sell Filipino snacks. This place is usually open on holidays but close early. You can order ahead and pick it up if you’re going to have a party.

OK guys, I’m Filipino but I’m one of the few who isn’t a big fan of our cuisine. Yes, call me a traitor or whatever but it’s true. I’ve been eating the food here since I was in high school. Whenever my Mom is not in the mood to cook, she’d go here for take-out. I have to say, this is authentic Filipino food. I give them big props for it because it literally tastes like my Mom’s cooking. But, I only eat here if my Mom orders take out. I wouldn’t spend my hard earned money here because as I said, I’m not a big fan of Filipino food. So, with that being said, I recommend this joint to people who want their Filipino food fix

Filipino food– what’s not to be a fan of? K & K Orient Valley serves authentic filipino food. As authentic as your auntie’s or uncle’s cooking. =) Don’t get me wrong– this place is not fancy by any means. But it’s definitely better than driving down south SD to grub on chicken adobo and pancit. And… that’s what I did… I grubbed on some chicken adobo, pancit, bbq chicken and had delicious ginataan for the chaser! Everything was delicious and hit the spot. Now, the not so clean. As in, the place itself is not as clean as I would like. The table next to us had a small stack of trays with dirty dishes. Maybe the bus boy was on his break. If you’re craving some chicken adobo, toron or pancit this spot will fix that craving.

Perfect place to get my torrone and lumpia fix! Pro: — torrones are my favorite here! $ 2.00 for 5! — lumpias are $ 1.00 for 3 — entrees here are decently priced — mom pop kind of place — authentic philippino food — they offer free water if you’re eating there! Cons: — not as clean — gets really hot(no AC) — difficult to order over the phone since they speak mostly philippino Overall: 4 stars. It’s my go to spot for lunch since it’s right across the street. I love their torrones! So crispy and delicious! I’ve have difficulty making orders over the telephone. They’ve gotten my order wrong a couple of times because of this. I recently ordered pansut(?) and said no meat, but when I got home there was meat in it. Didn’t really make it a big deal but just an example so make sure you double verify when you are ordering! If you are thinking of dining in, you may want to consider since it gets pretty hot inside!

This is my parent’s go-to place for Filipino food on the-go and catering platters for family parties. Decent prices and truly-pinoy-homestyle-fried-everything. Family party wise-we always pick up Turon(Philippine Spanish: turón de banana or turón plátano), also known as lumpiyang saging(Tagalog, banana lumpia), is a Filipino snack made of thinly sliced bananas(preferably saba or Cardaba bananas) and a slice of jackfruit, dusted with brown sugar, rolled in a spring roll wrapper and fried.(Source:wikipedia). & Ukoy(Shrimp Fritters-note: the shrimps are whole and shelled in batter and deep fried). They carry the typical point-point food(cafeteria style) like Menudo, bbq skewers, sinigang, nilaga, and other common filipino foods. Parking here blows– BIGTIME. Everyone double parks(illegally) street-side right in front to just-pick-up in the midst of the parking lot chaos disrupting the flow of traffic like ALLTHETIME. Service is cool but I mean don’t expect linen table cloths or flattery. Food is good so point to what you want and try it.

I have passed by this shop several times and decided to come in over the weekend. I will write a more in depth review, but as I have seen and tasted thus far… this is a go to spot for Philipino hot food items, and grocery type items for sure! Definitely got a great selection of hot food items!

Best place to get Filipino food in town. They even have a little market area inside so you can buy food to make for yourself. The food is good but has a tendency to run out around 5pm. They aren’t open on Mondays either. Tocino is my favorite but everything else is authentic and delicious too.

This place is our go to Filipino spot if we can’t get to Seafood City. Very limited with things since it very small but they do carry out hot food & the basic grocery needs. We order lumpia & other things here for parties too.

I’ve come here a handful of times with my Dad to eat some food while running errands and we always leave happy and full. While visiting to eat is a rather rare occasion for me my friends and I tend to order large party trays of lumpia from here for when we don’t feel like cooking something for a potluck full of 20-somethings; this location is also more convenient than driving further south into San Diego to pick up some lumpia. Either way, the lumpia from here always turn out to be a hit at get togethers and are usually they are among the first of the trays to be completely consumed by the end of the night. Are you craving lumpia now? Cuz I sure am.

This is the first filipino restaurant I have tried since moving to north county, i believe there is only a handful in the escondido and san marcos area. This is very convenient when craving filipino food and not having to go to San Diego. the portion was very generous and fed me for 2 meals, typical filipino style. I like the small market they kept inside the restaurant for filipino chips, snacks, and other products. their had fried rice, pancit, bbq, lumpia, and all the regular foods you would find in a pinoy restaurant.
