I was craving Mexican food for dinner. I have not eaten Mexican food in months. I called in an order by phone to Erickberto’s Mexican Food for pick up. The service was quick, and I was in and out of the place. The food was good. The carne asada, beans and rice hit the spot for me! :)

An ok place to get Mexican food. Service is not bad, staff is friendly. Nothing memorable about my visit. Food was ok but did not do much to stimulate me to hurry back. If you here already, it is ok, but there are better places in the area.

This place is so bad I started a Unilocal account just to leave a review. I’ve been here several times as it is close to home. Somehow I always give them another chance despite many dissapointments. Today I ordered a simple bean and cheese burrito. It was the size of a del taco burrito. Totally bland and overpriced. I get crap EVERY time I’m in there for asking for more hot sauce(who does that?), to go orders don’t come with napkins or utensils(even McD’s knows u need these to consume your food normally), the sauce tastes like cayenne pepper and water, and it always takes an unreasonable amount of time to receive your order. Napkins and utensils are available for u to take, but no one tells you they aren’t in the bag. One would assume a «to go» order comes with the necessary items to take it and eat it. It just seems lazy AF to me. In the past I’ve ordered enchiladas(good flavor but tiny portion for the price), a California burrito that came with eggs on it(no warning. No guac) carne asada burrito(also bland and tiny. Boring meat), the only menu item that has been satisfactory were rolled tacos. Just remember the napkins if u get them to go. I’m done with this place.

Whenever the line at Vons looks oppressively long, I drop by here. Good food, courteous staff, and reasonable prices. Not the greatest location for typical sit-down restaurant ambiance, but it’s clean and pleasant. I always enjoy it.

My husband and I held off on buying food from this place just because the reviews weren’t that great. But one day we just really wanted a California burrito and figured it’d be good enough. It was awesome! They have a California breakfast burrito with eggs and its so delicious. I live just across the street and every time I’m going to Vons or to get my burrito there are always people in there. It’s a great hole in the wall spot!

Mmm the carne asada burrito was so yummy. Just what I was craving. A healthy size burrito for a good price. So good.

Bad experience today. I called in my order and several people were in line ahead of me. I was quoted 10 – 15 mins from time of order, but the person ordering In line ahead of me received his food and was gone and I was still waiting. After 30 minutes my 2 item order was called. I ordered a carnitas torta with beans and extra cheese. It was so thin on ingredients; all cold bread — not toasted. Carne asada burritos there are usually good, but just ok today. No Bueno. Posting a photo. see how thin the fillin was compared o the tine salsa container next to it. Not going back. There are many good options in Escondido.

I’ve been going here from before the place had a proper name. Back then then the sign read«MEXICANFOOD.» Its the same two old ladies that take my order every time. Its a very plain interior, but I don’t go there to admire the flooring or walls. I’ve had half the menu but I’ve stuck with the pollo asado burrito as a staple. Id recommend giving them a try if you like Mexican food.

Best carne asada tacos in North county! Cons: Most days in the afternoons it’s very busy so you have to wait longer for your food. Some of the employees don’t seen friendly, although they are always courteous. PROS: Every single food item on the menu is delicious, they serve generous portions and have never messed up our order(we’ve been going there for about 5 years now).

Ick… Really sweet person at the counter but the food was terrible. The chile relleno was«so-so» with a bland sauce. The beef burrito was gross! It was all bell peppers and onions! Maybe an ounce of beef in it!

I have been coming here since 1999… so my opinion might be a bit biased. Haha. In my hundreds of times here there is one thing that I purchased over and over. In fact on one occasion, ONE, I got something other than the Breakfast burrito especial, and it was, meh… Here is the secret, order the breakfast burrito especial WITH salsa Verde in it. The burrito is then, the sloppiest, bacony mess you would ever want to assault your mouth hole with. I actually order a number of them to go before I head back up to LA(home), along with a pint of green sauce(best Verde I’ve ever had, salty and spicy). If you want Carne asada fries. Go elsewhere. If you want a bag of spicy carrots, get outta here with that. If you want a salsa bar, go play with a toaster in the bathtub. If you want a breakfast burrito that will not only help you out of whatever hole you woke up in, but will make you doubt the existence of a higher power, then this is the tortilla wrapped wunderkind you need in your mouth now!!! The horchata is OK too.

Below average in my book. 1.5 stars maybe? Very bland is how I’d describe this place. We had a breakfast burrito, pollo asada taco, rolled tacos and a carne asada taco. Tortillas were not fresh, rollies tasted like their frozen cousins, and the pollo asada taco was just plain tasting. Even a pinch of salt would have helped. No salsa bar and the salsas they provide are pretty weak. I tried it because it is very close to home, but even having said that, I would not return to this place. Just too many others in town that easily excel this place. Service was friendly.

Every Mexican food spot is a little unique. Erickberto’s is a relatively plain looking, small taco shop with not a lot of flair. The plain walls and plain tile lead you to a menu where the prices have been corrected/increased with a marker and masking tape, and counter where cardboard and paper signs guide your transactions. The CC machine was down both times I went, which means cash only! There is no soda fountain, only a display fridge with cans & bottles and a dispenser for the aguas frescas behind the counter. No salsa bar either. The menu seems a little scant, but it has all the basics with a few pictures to guide you. The aguas frescas(horchata, bang, piña colada, etc) was down also the second time I went :( All in all, I wasn’t in love with the place. But the food… Was good! The horchata was perfect(enough cinnamon to be very tasty), muy refrescante! The carne asada burrito was very juicy. For some reason, they put egg in their Cali burritos o_O I don’t give them much credit for ambiance, service, or décor, but the food is why I’ll keep coming back.

Standard fare for a bertos restaurant. I was interested in the name as the name seems more European! We ordered the Supreme Fries, California burrito, Fish Burrito and Rolled Tacos. The California Burrito had egg in it and no guacamole or sour cream which I found odd. They use crisscut fries which was nice, all and all decent. The Supreme Fries had more fries than meat, guac and beans which was unusual, more guac, beans and sour cream would improve it. Fish Burrito was quite good comparatively. Standard yellow walls and orange seating, running low on itensils and not much seating. Pros: they accept credit cards, the fish burrito was good and the gent running the cash register was heart Cons: no salsa bar, no fountain beverages
