## «If I Only Had a Brain/Heart/The Nerve» — sung by the outsiders that meet Dorothy in Oz. ## You’ve been whiling away the hours Conferrin’ with the flowers Consulting with the rain And your head, you’ve been a scratchin Cause your thoughts are busy hatchin’ The answer is just so plain You will try… to do it faster You were born a multi-tasker To make yourself a name Life is short… talk is cheap You’ve been working while they sleep So take a break, don’t go in-sane Oh, I can taste the Reds — that you’ll be drinkin’ The fresh poured glasses, that will be clinking You’ve escaped… from all that… think-ing That’s fresh air that you’re breathing Feel the stress, it’s up and leaving Aren’t you glad that you came You can dance and be merry Life would be a ding-a-derry You will never be the same

We just left the cardino winery and this is 100% better. Laid back, allow you to bring snacks, farm animals and the owners are super friendly and chat you up! We’ll be back!

This was the first winery we stopped at when we got to the Ramona area, and the wines were simply phenomenal! I especially liked the Syrah. It was perhaps one of the best Syrah’s I’ve ever had! Upon arrival, you’re greeted by two dogs, Tango and Sierra. You walk up to the outside wine bar and the entire staff is extremely friendly. The wine pourer even knew a winemaker at Treos in Oregon, one of our favorite wineries! The wine bottles seemed to be slightly higher in price than the other wineries in the area, but I must say that it’s worth it. Definitely stop by this winery if you’re in the area! Also, you can receive 20% off your wine-tasting if you check in on Unilocal

Went for Valentines Day and had a great time. The owners and winemaker are the ones who are pouring you the wine. As a Valentines Day special they had someone there making crepes. Their patio is relaxing and a great place to enjoy the afternoon.

Been tasting San Diego wines at least 15 years and I think they are the best vintners around. Everything is really good and especially loved the Rincon Del Diablo. No harsh tannic«sweet tart» taste here ;-) We love the casual comfortable setting of the tasting patio area too. And Highland Valley is such a beautiful area in San Diego, an all time favorite road of ours.

Super casual space in the middle of the vineyard. Great if you’re looking for a dog friendly, kid friendly no fuss wine tasting but service is a bit lacking.

What a lovely experience, right here in our own backyard. Who would have thought that one could find wines that rival those poured in Napa Valley, here in San Diego County. Please pay a visit, you will be pleasantly surprised!

Class act to the owners Mark and Lynn. Your place is beautiful. Great outdoor seating with corn hole and horseshoes. Can’t wait to see how the new tasting room with the basement turns out. Thanks for the hospitality Lynn and Mark. We will see you again.

Went to Artefact as I had read great Unilocal reviews and it was close by. The drive down the dirt road draws you into a quaint but modern winery/vineyard. With acres of beautiful vines, dogs lazing around and other farm animals a few steps away, this is a truly tranquil getaway. Lynn, owner, was an engaging hostess. Her passion for wine was evident as well as the dedication and hard work both her and her husband have put forth to create this gem. The wines are wonderful, especially the Syrah. Bring your cheese and crackers and spend some time drinking great wine in a wonderful atmosphere.

So nice to be able to enjoy french style wines so close to home. The proprietors are lovely people who made us feel very welcome as first timers.

UCLA Bruin event. Lynn and Mark are exceptional hosts in the Bruin tradition. A great intro to Rhone style wines in a pleasant setting. Look for great things to come!

First of all, the property that this winery sits upon is breathtaking and very inviting. Each wine I tasted was excellent, though my favorite was the Grenache. The owners and the pourers were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I cannot wait to visit again!

I went to Domaine Artefact with some friends and we all had an amazing time! They have the best Rose I’ve ever had. The staff was super friendly and very knowledgeable of the wine. The place was beautiful too. I highly recommend and look forward to visiting here again!

Domaine Artefact is a jewel in San Diego’s Hidden Wine Country! This micro climate is like nothing else in San Diego! 30 acres of sprawling vineyard and horse farm is the perfect ambience for the colorful urban tasting room. Friendly family run winery with a sustainable approach to growing. Lynn and Mark are warm hosts that are happy to give you a tour of their operation. Already a local favorite with the perfect mix of tables for picnics and unique outdoor room lounge seating. An incredible view of the valley! The wine is an outstanding offering of Rhone varietals with a selection for everyone– absolutely addicted to the 2010 Grenache and the GSM blend, As the Crow Flies! Generous tasting flight for $ 10 THE best place to bring visitors – a glimpse into what San Diego used to look like!

We visited Domaine Artefact Vineyard and Winery on a tip from a former grad school pal of mine. Infact, we met him and his wife there and continued to engage with other folks as the day went on. This is a beautiful property in the Bandy Canyon area. I love their little outdoor tasting bar, patio and separate sitting areas around the property. it’s a family and friends run kind of business which I can appreciate. Much of the wine is in the Rhone style, which is a good choice for the region and good for drinking too. We met the owners and like the things they are offering such as quality cheeses. We picked up a bottle of «As the Crow Flies». Made some new foodie and wine friends there too. A great intimate vineyard in the San Diego region. I am pushing the farm dinner idea in their direction.

I have been visiting Ramona’s wineries for about a year, and a recurring vibe I’ve noticed is a laid back, approachable experience not typically seen in major CA wine regions. Domaine Artefact is no different, offering a casual atmosphere devoid of tension and pretense. Taste is subjective but I enjoy Lynn & Mark’s style of offerings; bringing whites from the Rhonne Region and reds of a Spanish variety. As far as Ramona wineries go, the tasting environment is a bit more polished than others, although as the area gets more popular I expect others will step up. Mark challenged me to question my knowledge of my own tastes and opened me up to some new wines; he is truly passionate about wine. Domaine has already become a favorite.

Out of all of the wineries we visited in Escondido this past weekend, Domaine Artefact was by far our favorite. They have a pleasant relaxing atmosphere with beautiful panoramic views of the valley. There is no pretentiousness here just a welcoming vibe with really good wine. We met the owner Lynn who was awesome and was kind enough to take us for a tour of the grounds. We liked our experience so much we joined the wine club and plan on coming back regularly with other friends. Do not hesitate to visit this gem. You won’t be disappointed. I snapped a picture of the outside sitting area that I’ll be posting with this review as well.

This is just an awesome place! The tasting area is absolutely wonderful and unique — relaxing and outdoors and Californian. The wine is so delicious and the owner is completely friendly! Lynn sat with us the entire time and told us the whole story of how the winery came to be. My friends and I totally agree that if we opened a winery, this is exactly what we would want it to be!
