Cute Cakes

I really appreciate the fact that I called about 24 hours prior to needing a sheet cake for 20 ppl with a special design on the top in fondant and they said yes and did it ! However the design on top was about 2 stars and the price was really high ! I wish I could say the cake was delicious but for the second time of trying their sheet cakes it seemed a little cold and dense… I would give 5 stars for the fact that they are normally out 1 week for special orders and whipped this together last minute for me, but 3 stars for price and taste. I did tell a friend who ordered her daughters cake there that I am willing to give them a third chance :) based off reviews maybe «it’s not you, it’s me.»

Everything I have tried has been delicious! I got engaged and decided to order 2 dozen cupcakes last minute (2 days before the scheduled event) and they were super helpful and made it all possible. Everyone that got to try a cupcake loved them! Thank you guys!

Watched the driver in a company car almost cause an accident in RB today, not appreciated.

Really happy with my twins 1^st birthday cake. I brought a picture in and they adapted it for twins. It was so cute and tasted great! Will definitely use them again for other occasions.

What a find. You walk into a huge display of beautiful wedding cakes. A huge display case of cupcakes, muffins, cakes and pasteries. Complete coffee house menu of coffee drinks and teas. Über friendly staff ready to discribe each delicacy. Boxed to-​go or stay and relax. Counter area to plug in browse the internet. Two casual sitting areas and several tables. Even an area to plan your wedding or party. One stop shopping. Huge bakery. Fun spot to hang out and visit.

Just had their cupcakes for the first time and they were delicious! And beautiful. I asked my boyfriend to go pick them up. We got the strawberry, death by chocolate and red velvet. The only reason I didn’t give full stars is because my boyfriend said it took them a very long time. He said only one person was helping people (and there seemed to be a lot of custom orders so she was quite busy) but he saw two
Other employees in the back making signs. I would think they could’ve stopped and helped take care of the customers and then continued making signs. He said one woman actually left the store because she didn’t want to wait anymore. But other than that the cupcakes were very good

Such a beautiful place to go have a sweet treat. Everything is so good. I love there cupcakes, they are good and beautiful! If you ever need a wedding or special occasion cake they do such a beautiful job.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. Every employee I’ve encountered is knowledgeable and kind. They have amazing sweets, even at the drop of a hat, I tend to operate on a spur of the moment basis. Definitely found my go-​to bakery.

Amazing cake! We can’t wait to eat again in 4 months! We were able to choose our cake, filling and frosting flavors. We were also able to mix ‘n match. Sadly we only had a bite on our wedding. Wish we could have had more! The rest of the cake was not saved for our anniversary :(They delivered and placed provided flowers on the cake. It was gorgeous!

This place is always amazing: cupcakes, pop cakes, coffee, and teas. Warm and welcoming atmosphere.

My husband, son and I, finally, were able to try Cute Cakes today. It was such a nice experience.
As soon as we came through the door, the man behind the counter immediately greeted us with such a welcoming demeanor – not fawning, just very friendly. He answered all our questions and even made good suggestions. My husband and son, who both love chocolate, were not disappointed with the Thin Mint and the Chocolate Decadence. I, on the otherhand, should have followed their lead and stuck with cupcakes. I got a muffin which was moist, but a little lacking in taste. Next time, I will definitely get from the right side of the display case.
The brewed coffee was a little weak and not very hot. But, then again, the drinks are only incidental to the treats. So, that’s forgiveable.
The business welcomes people to just hang out, which may be good in fostering community. When we were there, there were a group of women playing mahjong.
Overall good experience.

From the cake tasting to the finished product, Cute Cakes was a pleasure to deal with! All of their employees are very friendly and they are able to turn your vision into a reality. We tried 6 different cake flavors at our tasting, and ended up ordering 5 out of the 6 for our wedding cake and cupcakes because they were all so delicious! We couldn’t have been more happy with the process!

Cute Cakes works with our wedding venue in San Marcos. It was easy to set up a cake tasting appointment and they gave us a great tasting experience. We got married in November so it was fitting to pick pumpkin, which was my favorite flavor!
Finalizing cake details was slightly confusing since I was emailing with two staff members. I gave my feedback to Cute Cakes and they appreciated it.

Somehow I had never been to Cute Cakes and I was missing out! I took my nieces there for cupcakes and they loved them. Brought a few more home for everyone else and they loved them too. As I’m allergic to wheat I was really happy they had gluten free cupcakes. And they didn’t taste horrible like most GF! They were actually really good! They have amazing cake designs to choose from. Overall, beautiful cupcakes and cakes that don’t just look good but taste good too. Great customer service as well.

We were given Cute Cakes as our cake vendor for our wedding package at Green Gables Wedding Estate. When we went for our tasting we were told they would be moving to a larger location soon. The girl was very sweet who hosted the tasting and very helpful. We were given a list to select and try and also a list of frostings. There are other flavors to choose from but offer a tasting based on their most popular wedding flavors. During the tasting we asked for other options on a filling, she suggested Rum filling. It was delicious. She explained the were making a banana rum cake for a party and brought out slivers to try. Instantly sold. We served banana rum and pumpkin with a spices cream cheese on a 3 layer cake that came out beautiful and exactly how I asked. We will be taking a drive back out for our anniversary. We also took cupcakes for the drive back. Delicious.

My husband and I had a very specific request for our rockabilly-​themed vow renewal… And let me tell you, Cute Cakes delivered! Our guests raved about the taste and the décor couldn’t have been more perfect. Thank you SO MUCH!

We love this place! The staff is always extremely friendly, the cupcakes are moist and delicious, their coffee is strong and rich, and the breakfast is delicious and affordable (seriously… Cinnamon roll French toast is heaven on a plate and pairs perfectly with their latte).

My wife and I were both excited to invest in a gender reveal cake for our first baby. We had a general idea about what we were looking for but the results went far beyond expectations.
The store is located just off the 15, and has had easy-​access street parking every time we went to visit. We made an appointment and sat down with Sara, who listened to our cake description. We were looking for a Dumbo cake (we are both huge Disney people), specifically, the scene when Mr. Stork delivers Dumbo to Mrs. Jumbo.
Before we could even finish the description, Sara immediately began to brainstorm ways of making this cake something truly special. She came up with some great ideas about the design that we had not anticipated previously, but was careful to make sure that what we had described together was exactly what we wanted. I was also able to email them photos from the movie so they could get a better idea of how to create the different images and characters with the fondant.
I picked up the cake the day before Thanksgiving and could not believe the results. Check out the picture in the photo gallery. And trust me, for the result we got, this cake was very moderately priced.
The reveal party itself was flawless and the cake was delicious, thanks to the awesome people at Cute Cakes. We are very, VERY satisfied customers!

This is one of my favorite places! I’ve been there several times and every time the staff is very friendly and helpful. We’ve been there for breakfast several times and have always been happy with our order.
It does seem to be a tad overpriced for some items but that being said, I don’t mind paying a little extra for my coffee to support a fun local spot.

Stopped by for the first time this past Saturday to check out the bakery. I had seen the new exterior driving by a few times.
I was very pleased with everything, from the friendly service, adorable decorations inside, and delicious treats!
There weren’t many people inside, but it was late on a Saturday afternoon. It’s quite spacious, with several tables and chairs placed thought, some outdoor seating on their patio, and a counter in the back where a couple of people were set up with their laptops and treats working away. They have free wifi. It seems like it would be a nice alternative to hanging out at the typical Starbucks type of place. They do have some coffee and tea drinks. The iced tea was sweet and refreshing.
We were pleased when the girls behind the counter told us that on Saturdays from 2-​close they have buy one get one free on their cupcakes! So of course we had to get a few to take home. These cupcakes are insane! Not just beautifully decorated and generous in size, they are also perfectly moist and delicious. I’ve been to bakeries where the cupcakes make for a beautiful presentation, but the flavor is just lacking — that isn’t the case at Cute Cakes. They are so good! My boyfriend was even saying that he wanted to get my next birthday cake here, haha!
While we were there we indulged in a slice of cheesecake and a shortbread sandwich cookie. Both were delicious. We will definitely be back!

Great place to meet up with friends, study, read a book and of course chow down on some delish sweets. They have a menu for snacks, breakfast, drinks, and lunch. A rad selection of cute treats like mini pies and long slivers of 7 layer bars. I recommend getting their iced tea via the Unilocal check in. They have a separate half of the store for weddings. The staff is oh so nice! Will be back with a book!

I ordered my wedding cake through Cute Cakes. They have a 2^nd location in San Diego so they were able to deliver the cake to the hotel in SD on our wedding day w/​o any problems.
Originally, I showed them a few different photos of cakes I liked. I was indecisive over the size, shape (round vs square), and whether I wanted one or several smaller cakes for the wedding. Allie was VERY informative, patient, and detailed in explaining how many people would be fed and how much each of the cakes would cost. I sent her a lot of very detailed emails and she always responded quickly and thoroughly.
As for the flavor of the cake, unlike other bakeries, Cute Cakes didn’t charge extra for having more than one flavor, which was great for our budget. Also, they have delicious flavors! We ended up going with strawberry cake w/​cream cheese filling (ah-​mazing) and chocolate cake w/​chocolate ganache filling (dee-​lish). The banana cake and sweet potato cakes are also amazing, btw.
As you can see from the photo, the cake they made was almost identical to the photo I showed (I added the extra tier and asked for the sizing to be a little different). I thought the color of my cake and the flowers on it were just slightly off from the photo, but it was so close. I was concerned they wouldn’t be able to make the flowers as pretty as the ones in the photo. I usually hate fake flowers on cakes, so I was worried that they wouldn’t end up being identical and I’d regret not getting fresh flowers. But the flowers they made were perfect — they made the cake.
All in all, they offer delicious and beautiful cakes, they have great customer services, and their prices are reasonable.

Cute Cakes is exactly what Grand Avenue needed. While sitting on one of their comfy chairs, drinking their bold drop coffee, lemon blueberry muffin in hand, I realized that I was in one of Escondido’s finest establishments.
Escondido’s Grand Ave. is slowly becoming relevant with newer, hipper business like Cute Cakes moving in. So I decided to visit Cute Cakes and let me tell you that it’s one of the nicer looking business on Grand from the outside. Walking inside you’re welcomed by their long dessert /​pastry case. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Croissants as large as the ones I saw here. There were also cookies, muffins, bars, and all sorts of other goodies to pick from. With so many treats to choose from you can easily forget that they serve actual food items here too.
The layout inside of Cute Cake is impressive. Lots of cozy places to relax and write Unilocal reviews. But there is so much more here. They have classes and events such as birthday party hosting (with cookie creation). Oh, and I guess they also do wedding cakes.

At first, the thick, white frosting looked flavorless and not too promising, but one lick of it made my day. It was the perfect vanilla buttercream flavor — just sweet enough, but not too sweet. It was also a great texture — creamy and not too stiff. The cake was moist and had just the right white cake flavor. This has become one of my new favorite cucpcakeries on the West Coast!

Hands down the best spot to stop by and satisfy your sweet tooth! My dad was picking up a watch next door {and myself being a sweets gal} HAD to check it out.
Let me say I’m not disappointed. The place was SO darn cute & the staff were so sweet to me! Especially for it being my first time there. I didn’t walk out empty handed… But then again, it’s hard to resist a beautiful cupcake!
