First of all the owners were super nice. I live in Escalon and I was not aware of this place but as soon as I saw a few reviews here I decided to try it out. The place was completely alone but I might’ve been because of the time we went. I do recommend this because the food was delicious. The drinks were a nice touch with nice and cold glassware. The raspberry tea was really good. We ended up getting the volcano roll and the Shrimp tempura roll. Both were very good but the volcano roll was too spicy for my taste. Happy Garden has really good food and a very nice environment.

We have been here many times, and love it each time! I highly recommend it. They make wonderful teriyaki chicken, and I hate teriyaki. The sushi is good too, I would recommend the Inari and golden shrimp roll. Both are great.

Absolutely incredible! Love the sushi, always fresh and very fairly priced. The owners are incredibly nice and very polite. I come here quite often and have never had a bad experience even once. They deserve an A+ in my book.

Great sushi for small town Escalon. Always very friendly and serve you as quickly as they can. Good prices as well. I always enjoy coming here, never a bad experience.

The owners are very nice. I gave it 4 stars for both good/bad reasons. The food is good and the prices are very fair. The sushi is okay, the Chinese food, I thought, was very good. The place could use a good scrubbing down! The menus and soy sauce bottles are covered in a film of grease. I eat here once a week and they are always consistent!

Definitely didn’t expect much from this little hole in the wall but I must say there Japanese food is great! Sushi rolls are good and fresh! Miso soup is very flavorful. Bento box is very good. I gave it only 4 stars because I definitely do not like the fried rice. It’s Yellow and taste bla. Other then that the food is great. Also great Ice cold beers!

My favorite Chinese/Japanese restaurant around, super good for Escalon. Shun is the owner, he’s super cool and friendly. Mongolian Chicken is awesome!

Cannot believe I haven’t written a review for this AMAZING little jem of a place!!! The food here is SOGOOD!!! We have been faithful(when we can afford it) customers here for four years now. The tempura is so light and airy. Absolutely Perfect! The Chicken Katsu is also one of our favorites, Their beef is delicious as well. I could go on and on about how good everything is but you’ve really gotta give this place a try. Try the Volcano or Dragon roll!!! YUM!!! Even their salad dressing is unforgettable! Oh and they also have assorted beers and hot and cold Sake.

I’m rarely, if ever, interested in Cal-Japanese cuisine. Too much creaminess mixed with fish. Nothing wrong with it – it’s just not my scene. Something about this place reminds me of the high-end spots. There’s that quality of presentation, freshness, and lightness that you don’t get with the usual Bay Area bento box special. The tempura was light and crispy. The miso was solid and flavorful. The fish was firm, clean, and fresh. They know what they are doing. This place can slide into line just behind Kirala, in the East East East East Bay.
