Intricate Icings

I’m not really sure how to review this place. They did our wedding cake back in 2011 and did a great job. Everything they did was excellent, from the beginning tasting and design phase to the day of the wedding, they were easy to work with and the cake looked great.
They offer a free 12month cake, unfortunately we couldn’t take advantage of that offer within their time window. Last time we were in Colorado we remembered them and called to see if they would still offer the free cake deal, to which they understandably said no. We asked about any other options they had and we were rudely informed that they had no options. At some point in the conversation I went so far as to ask if we could buy another cake and were told «no.»
Maybe business is so good they don’t need referrals from past customers, maybe they don’t even want that. maybe I caught them on a bad day. I don’t know.

5 years ago, after our wedding, Rachael touched base with me about our cake and I told her that we had only had a chance to have our «cut bite» and our guests had gobbled up the rest before we could get more! She went out of her way to make us a couple of cupcakes in the same flavor so we could enjoy it together. Unfortunately, over the years, it seems the personal touch and customer service had fallen by the wayside. I had hoped to share an anniversary memory with my husband by ordering a dozen cupcakes (which was an option in previous years). However, it seems that you can now only order a cake for 20+ people for almost $ 200, or a boutique cake for $ 500.
I’m disappointed that Intricate Icings no longer caters to repeat, «smaller order» customers. Had that type of service been maintained, they would have easily received 5 stars from me.

Oh my God, do not hesitate at all to go with Intricate Icings for your wedding cake. It was easily the best wedding cake I have ever in my entire life. And it was the most unique and beautiful cake I have ever seen. The cake was for my sister’s wedding and she said the planning process was super easy, and that the quote from here was much cheaper than the other places that she went to.
Seriously, it’s been two weeks since the wedding, and the deliciousness of the cake is still what is brought up the most by the guests of the wedding.

Wow. Rachel is incredible. I can’t believe we have such an artist in our little Erie. Our cake was spot on… both in looks and taste.
