This is a quaint, family run business that offers authentic Mediterranean food. I highly recommend trying this gem.

This place is a hidden gem! This is my third time eating here and every time the food has been amazing and the owners hospitality is second to none. I highly recommend it.

I think my mom have our new place to go in Erie! Thanks to Unilocal,I found this place when we were at an event at the Bayside Convention Center, and surprised we had never noticed it driving by a couple times before. The owner was wonderfully friendly and kind. She talked to us before and after the meal and the welcoming atmosphere she presented was a highlight of the meal. A younger gentleman(owner’s son?) came in and finished off serving us. Seems like she might be flying solo right when they open as other said she cooks too. There were already a few tables there, just keep in mind if in a rush. My mom and I both ordered the Chamomille tea. It took a bit for it to come out(just before our food) to us, but we each had our own small pot of fresh loose tea in adorable small glass cups and saucers. It hit the spot on a cool, breezy day and we got a lot of it. I liked that there were a lot of options on the menu to make things a platter with sides, entrees with multiple items, wraps, and appetizers. Vegetarians and meat-eaters a like will definitely find something to suit their tastes! My mom ordered the Falafel Wrap and I got the Shish Tawook wrap. They were served with a small portion of flavorful rice as well as a Syrian-inspired tzatziki type dip. The pita of the wraps was warm and soft. My chicken was cooked perfectly with a tasty, but not overpowering blend of spices. There was a light lemony sauce which blended perfectly. I couldn’t put it down! My mom said her falafels were delicious and seasoned well. I had a little nibble of one and I agree. She spread the side sauce right on her wrap while I mixed it with my rice. We look forward to coming back again and visiting this lovely establishment.

I stopped by because usually reviews are spot on. This was not. 2 stars is for the nice, beautiful, server who also cooked. The lamb meat was tender. The baba was not good at all. It had a thin, oily, watered down taste. I have eaten great Mediterranean food and this want even good. The garlic sauce tasted like mayonnaise. It lacked that wonderful pungent garlic flavor I was craving! Ugh what a let down. There was a overwhelming flavor of cinnamon on everything too. It was on the salad, garlic sauce, and baba. The rice was overcooked and no flavor or almonds. The vegetables were waterlogged. I’m very disappointed in this place and in the reviews that claimed it was good. There must be a lack of knowledge on what Mediterranean should taste like. Where we normally go in Michigan they always have the best vegetables and fruits. I would not tell anyone to go here. I hope future Unilocalers read this before going. On a side note the place is very small.

I love a good family restaurant. The desert menu is what mom made today. The sample appetizer platter is excellent. They also make their own falafel, not store bought. It’s the best I’ve had in a long time! While there’s still a little sunshine, try to eat on the back patio too. It’s a great little place that I’m keeping on my short list of favorites;-)

YES! Everything at Casablanca is amazing! The owner/chef makes it all herself, and she is willing to make anything on the menu vegetarian.(Of course, there are several veggie options right on the menu.) The tea is the best you can get anywhere near Erie, and the hummus and baba ganoush put everyone else’s to shame. If we could, we would just order everything on the menu every time we go, which is at least once a week. This is easily the best restaurant in Erie. And the Sandwich Express downtown is awesome, too!

We went here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon visit to Erie. Overall we were underwhelmed with the entire experience. The décor inside can be described as «Grandma’s cozy old fashioned house that hasn’t been updated since the late 80s». The entrées themselves were about $ 15 each for lunch and were average in taste. The chicken wasn’t very flavorful nor was the ground beef. The eggplant, however, was very flavorful. The weirdest part of the entire meal was getting a glass of water. It’s quite customary to be served glasses of tap water at every sit down restaurant in America. So we were quite surprised to get small bottles of water from Save-a-Lot brought to us for a charge! The restaurant could at least say they only serve bottled water and if they are going to serve bottled water and charge their customers, at least serve them something nicer than Save-A-Lot.

I was looking forward to a nice Mediterranean meal, and this was a disappointment. I parked in front of the restaurant, in my post yoga self and i got weird stares as I entered the place. I asked them if they were open bec it was already 8:30, the owner said yes. The ambience looked authentic. I ordered babba ganouj and duet kabobs(beef and chicken) to go. Was told that the last serving of rice was served to the last customer, so I said it was fine. Bill was $ 26.99 with taxes. There was barely any eggplant in my babba ganouj. The pita served with the babba ganouj was store-bought. I give them credit for the tender kabobs, and the authentic taste of the sauce that came with it. I also don’t think that it is worth for what I paid for. It was really overpriced for the amount of serving. If you’re really used to authentic Mediterranean food, this place is not worth the visit. However, given the options in Erie, it may be one of the«best» places.

This place is awesome, and definitely a MUST when passing through Erie, PA(or if you live there…). The owner is wonderful and takes pride in her cooking(I stopped in for an early lunch so I had an opportunity to speak to her). All of the food is homemade — so don’t be afraid to ask the owner for recommendations. I ordered the mezze platter and it was phenomenal. My partner ordered a Greek Salad and everything was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is also nice. We sat out back on the porch. If you love Mediterranean food, this place is a MUST. I’ve been traveling around the US for over a year and ALWAYS go to Mediterranean restaurants and order the mezze platter. This one was one of the best!

OMG, one of the best restaurants we’ve eaten at during our 6 week trek cross country. The Mediterranean Platter-delicious. The lentil soup –wonderful. And the little«lady fingers» we had as dessert –to die for. If you like good, really good, homemade Mediterranean food, then this is the place. The chef is Syrian and our waitress Jordanian. Very authentic. There is a lovely deck with shade trees but the interior is charming.
