I am pretty easy going when it comes to my appearance and as a customer at salons. But my recent eyebrow wax at Hair Excitement was a disaster! I said wanted them cleaned up, since they were well shaped already, but she took off all but the narrowest strip of eyebrow including About an inch on the outside of each brow… Who does that? As well as a decent sized chunk of skin. When I questioned why she did that she simply said, «I don’t know what happened». This is a small thing, they will grow back eventually, but until then I have to walk around looking ridiculous. I would give zero stars since I have gad no other services on which to base me review and this was really that bad, but Unilocal won’t let me.

I wanted bright colors for my hair and was told to try there. I popped in and asked if they could squeeze me in today – and they could – YAY!!!
Bonnie did an awesome job on my hair – it’s chocolate brown with red highlights – and the red is EXACTLY what I wanted. I LOVED that she didn’t try to blow dry my hair and make it into a style that I wouldn’t do at home.
Price was reasonable.
I had my eyebrows waxed for the first time – last time I had waxing done – I blistered and it was awful – this was a great experience.
Next time I’m in the area I will definitely be back.

People said I looked like Simple Jack from the movie «Tropic Thunder» after my haircut here. Others said I looked like Carl from «Slingblade.»
Take your pick… it wasn’t pretty.
Oh, and what’s with the «levels»? Is this like the OT (Operating Thetan) levels in Scientology? It doesn’t seem to relate to hair-​cutting skills, that’s for sure.
Go to Epping Barber Shop down the road instead. Meanwhile, maybe Tabitha’s Salon Takeover will pay them a visit.

Today is Kathryn’s last day at Hair Excitement — she is going to be moving about a mile down the road (Lamprey Waves Salon, 169 Main St. Epping, 679‑2248). So, I am changing my review to «A-​OK» because I still have great feelings about the salon, but will be staying with my girl as she moves on her path to owning her own salon.***
I have been seeing Kathryn at Hair Excitement — Epping for almost a year. At the time of this review she is a «level 4» stylist, when I started with her, she was a «level 3»
I have very thick hair that needs a fair amount of attention paid to the cut so I don’t end up looking like Gilda Radner’s «Roseanna Roseannadanna»
Kathryn is a phenominal stylist, and all of the girls in the salon are very friendly and helpful. I always feel like family when I go in there.
I don’t use the tanning, but they have that there, too.
