I have been going to the same stylist for years and have been in sort of a hair funk. So I went to Unilocal to begin my hunt for a new stylist. I found Melissa, read the 5 star reviews and made my appointment. What an amazing experience, she’s friendly, professional, innovative and took me from blah to BAM! She fixed the years of cheap salon dyes and damaged hair. She helped me find a color that would compliment my complexion and gave me a vision of where we can go in the future. Thank you Unilocal reviews and thank you Melissa for reinventing my hair!

Everything about my experience with Melisa was absolutely perfect. She returned my call promptly and followed up with a confirmation when the appointment was set. She is such a professional. She immediately assessed my hair and quickly went to work. I love the results and highly recommend her.

I am thrilled to be leaving Melisa her 16th (25th if you add the hidden ones) PERFECT review! Melisa has worked with my hair twice — the first appointment was for a cut and highlights; the second was for touch-​up and even more highlights). She is the only stylist I have ever been to who said, «Yes, you can go blonde.» She did such a great job with the cut and color. I had my first cut, color and highlight by Melisa today and I couldn’t be happier. She really understood what type of style and overall look I was going for and how to achieve it. The first thing she asked me when I sat in her chair was ‘tell me what isn’t working for you with your current style’. I don’t think any stylist has asked me that before. We talked for awhile about options and decided on a stylish wavy bob with fresher, richer color and a few highlights for that extra kick. My hair feels great, it has movement and style now instead of just laying there, and the color is beautiful. Add to that, she’s extremely personable and fun to talk to. Overall a fantastic experience!

Melisa is amazing! I moved back to California about 5 years ago and I have yet to find a hairstylist, from San Francisco to Walnut Creek, that could successfully cut & color my hair to my standards. Melisa is the best at both! She has never made a mistake, she just gets better every time I go in! People are constantly asking me about my hair & complimenting my bangs & my color since I started seeing her! Also, I’m trying to grow my hair out and I hate when stylists hear you say that and still do a «trim» which ends up being a «cut». Melisa listens & gives it a light dust rather than chopping it! She also has great ideas and new hot styles for cuts. Great for when you’re bored with your hairstyle! She’s never late nor flaky on scheduling, which is super important for my busy life. Love her!

Melisa is a great stylist! I am so bad at explaining what I want but Melisa is so patient with me and helps me to get the cut and color that works for me and my skin-​tone. I’m a dark brunette and we recently did ombré, relatively subtle at the ends and I love it. Clayton is out of the way for me, but I’ve followed her there because I love my hair and trust her! Melisa is also great at recommending the right products, e.g. to help re-​hydrate my hair after the bleaching. Thanks Melisa!

I love, love the way Melisa colors and cuts my hair. I always get lots of compliments when she does my hair. She has been coloring my hair for years and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I live in Santa Cruz and drive to the Easy Bay just to see her. I have long, thick, dark hair and I like copper highlights (not every stylist can do this well, because copper can easily go orange). Melisa gets it right every time and it looks natural. I love it. Best stylist I’ve ever been to.

I just had my first cut and color with Melisa after a 7 year relationship with my prior stylist. I was afraid to make the change because of my long standing hair relationship. Well I’m glad I got over myself and got into see her, finally. She did an absolutely amazing job. My hair looks better than it has in a long time. The highlights she placed are to the root, something I haven’t been getting with my previous stylist and honestly thought all stylists didn’t do. Well, I was wrong. I won’t be looking back now.

I always love my hair when Melisa does it! I am blonde, so it is extremely difficult to find someone that knows how to do blonde highlights and/​or work with blonde hair. I loved her so much that I followed her from Walnut Creek to Clayton. I have never been disappointed with my color. She always gets down to the roots! (a huge problem I’ve had in the past. I would leave my past stylists and felt ripped off because I would have roots the very next day!)
She even cuts my sons hair and I love it!

This is my second review for Melisa. She recently moved from Walnut Creek to Clayton and WOW is she amazing. I am a blonde with really fine hair so it can kind of be a nightmare to do. Melisa has been doing my hair for about 8 months and each time it looks great.
I told her I would follow her any where and now its true. The Clayton spot is super easy to get to with great parking. If you are looking for a cut or a GREAT color at GREAT pricing Melisa is a must.
