Perfect choice on a hot day, juicy, tasty, nice kick and smoky flavor. Reminiscent of pork bbq served in filipino backyard parties during the summer

Bubbas’ Barbikyu, yeah I spelled that right, is a fairly permanent fixture at the flea market in Englishtown(oddly named Englishtown Auction despite not being an auction house) but they’ll occasionally travel to NYC for a market/fair/event. I first got to try them at the festival at the end of the 5 boro bike tour. Their menu is extremely simple, it’s just pork or chicken kabobs. Nothing else. It’s $ 5 a stick, a little pricey in my opinion($ 3 – 4 would make me give them 5 stars), but they definitely know what they’re doing. Pork is the traditional choice and it’s marinaded in a sweet and smokey Asian BBQ sauce(available for sale on their website) that makes you want to go back for a few more. It was cooked perfectly, charred just enough, and the service was pleasant. I hope they get out of that crappy NJ flea market and make their way to NYC more often as I’m craving another kabob.
