Waffle House

I love the waffle house. The waitress was friendly, and the food as expected. I was on my way to the Dayton Airport and this was a convenient stop for breakfast.

At the beginning of the meal a lengthy series of raw vegetables was presented one after the other, starting with the sprig of fennel, whose only a adornment was a little seasoning, and had good flavor. This was followed by a lettuce soup with a little pancetta, then birch cookies with chocolate mint. Birch bark is baked in an oven for a few minutes to release its natural flavor, then added to mint chocolate cream. The result was powdery, grainy and tasted like you were eating powdered tree bark on your chocolate, rather as a doctor might add sugar to a tablet to make it palatable for a child. I think the chef could safely put this idea back into his pantry.
The wheat bread is prepared offsite in a Dayton bakery and then finished in the kitchen, and had excellent texture with a particularly good crust. It was served with a trio of butters made on the farm. Two of the butters were identified by the server as being from specific cows («Daisy» and «Sunlight» in this case) which may have been slightly extraneous. I do not really know the names of the animals whose products I am eating. Flashbacks of the Douglas Adams book «The Restaurant at the end of the Universe» came to me at this point in the proceedings.
Overall this was a very good meal, whose level was raised considerably once the sequence of raw vegetables concluded and the cooking began. Service was excellent throughout, attentive and friendly.

I think this Waffle House is great it’s just that I don’t like how unclean the waffle houses everywhere are pease Make a change thank you!

I came to this Waffle House while I was visiting Ohio with my family. It was our first time ever eating at a Waffle House restaurant and we really liked it. My chocolate chip waffles were great and my mom really loved her strawberry waffles. Our waitress was great, she was very friendly and helpful (I know her name started with a K and I cant remember it now, sorry). Everything was very reasonable priced and overall we had a great experience. The girl who was at the register to ring us up, who I think was a supervisor, could have been nicer though. She made us stand there and wait while she counted all the money in the register and complained to the other workers about what a bad mood she was in.

Good and fast food. Servers were all super friendly and attentive despite the busy environment. We will def go back! Great coffee too!
