I purchased a reproduction Tiffany lamp base for $ 25,000.00 from Ophir Gallery. An expert told me to get a refund. I confronted Jack Ophir and was ignored. Sothebys appraised my entire house. The only question to arise was where I had purchased that base. It was no surprise to the head of their 25th Century Department. Ophir’s reputation had preceded him.
My advice: have no dealings with the man.
