I’ve been doing business with this shop for 36 years, and they’re still an outstanding outfit. They deserve my highest recommendation.

I was only in the store for a few minutes(a side-effect of some really fast and excellent customer service), but I think I got a good sense of the store. This is really two stores, one side is a vacuum sale and repair place, the other side is a shaving place. It’s a weird combination, and not quite on the level of peanut butter and chocolate. I’ve been trying to find someplace locally that carries good shaving products. So far I’ve been limited to really cheap shaving soap from the drug store or really, really not-cheap stuff from Art of Shaving. Now, Art of Shaving is some quality goods, but when I don’t want to shell out $ 50 for shave soap, I’d like something in the middle. Colorado Shaver Center is the only place I’ve been able to find in the metro area which carries Col. Conk products. They had a small selection of straight and safety razors as well. Being the only game in town, they have an excuse to let their service slip a little bit. But that wasn’t my experience. I think there were two people working on Saturday afternoon. One was busy with another customer. I’d been in the store about 45 seconds when the other guy asked me if I needed anything. i told him what I was looking for, he had it off the shelf and in my hands and I was out in a matter of minutes.

This is really the only game in town for buying reasonably priced straight and safety razors in Colorado. They’ve got a reasonable selection(although they only sell Solingen blades), and a few good starter kits. One of their employees even taught me to hone and strop the razor right there in the store. My only complaint is that their selection of Straight Razors is limited to lighter weight blades and handles.
