Christian Brothers Moving & Storage

I was nervous after reading the other Unilocal reviews but I had a really good experience with Christian Brothers moving and I plan to use them again.
The best part was the crew they sent me worked fast, and finished 2 hours under the estimated time. Since i’m paying by the hour that made me very happy. But what made me even happier was how careful they were about breaking down and safety wrapping and not damaging our furniture.
Also they were geniuses at packing for space. At first I thought there was no way they would make everything fit in one truck (A four bedroom house) but they did.
And their free boxes are a genius way of recycling. It’s an arrangement they have with distribution company to reuse their boxes. The boxes were heavy duty and most were in really good shape. Some of them were busted up but it was only like one in 15 boxes. And since they were free I didn’t mind that at all.
This move was into storage temporarily, and when we move back out in a few months I will be calling them again.

Update: A day after posting my review here and on another website I received an email from Christian Brothers Moving & Storage asking me to remove my negative comments. Apparently their feelings were hurt. The only reason they gave for this request was that the move happened a number of months ago. I suppose they feel that after a certain period of time their substandard service should get a pass because of some sort of subjective time standard. To be sure: The damage to my furniture still exists. They damaged it. They are responsible. Avoid this company like the plague. You will be sorry if you do business with this company.

I am one of those that always supports a Christian business over other companies and usually it’s a good idea but NOT this time! They are about double the cost of other companies (as I found out) and charge you for every tiny thing. Be careful of the «time» they calculate because they try and add an extra hour ($ 109 bucks for them). Plus the cost of using their truck (which they rent for $ 200) plus wrapping equipment ($ 170) etc. a $ 400 intown job costed me almost $ 900!!! WON’T ever make that mistake of using them again!
Ps: they charge you for them having to drive in «rush hour»!

I just called this company to get one guy to help unload. I own a moving company in kansas city and have a truck going by there. I was going pick up a guy and have him sit in the truck for 4 hrs and unload for 1 hr tops. So actual work 1 hr. I am shocked they said that it would be 50hr for one guys prob around 300 bucks. That is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard in my life. They call them selves christian brothers which is a joke!!! We a carrier calls me in need of help I charge 15hr to get my guys working so they can pay the bills and help out a fellow mover. $ 50hr is a disgrace to the moving industry and down right wrong.,… Im sure jesus who championed the poor would be proud of this company… geeezzz
