This place has the worst, and I mean absolute WORST, office staff I’ve EVER encountered. I wish I got her name before she hung up, but this woman who picks up the phone is complete scum. I visited Dr. Kang in February 2015. It was absolute BS, and without informing me, she sent in my pap for unnecessary blood work that should’ve been included in the insurance. I also paid $ 60 copay as I walked in, INCASH(make sure you get a receipt) — even though I explained that an annual general check up is covered by insurance as part of wellness care. Then, 6 months roll by and I realize that Dr. Kang purposely limited my birth control prescription to 6 months so I’d come in again and pay for another office visit. I was appalled — I told that same AWFUL scum office admin that no other gynos do that — she told me to take my business elsewhere. Oh, it gets better. So I tell her, fine I’ll go in but that I wanted her to check why I was billed in February, 6 months ago, and not credited or refunded for same. I had already spoken with my insurance carrier who confirmed that they sent a summary of benefits to Dr. Kang’s office which explicitly said that I had no liability. Point blank, office admin tells me(in her not so good English — I don’t know why she refuses to speak in Korean when she knew I clearly spoke Korean since I responded to her from the getgo in Korean — so stop practicing English on me), «so what? I tell you now that you get credit.» I said«I don’t want a credit, I want a refund because I don’t feel like going to Dr. Kang anymore.»(Isn’t that what she told me before? To go find another doctor?) Her voice gets louder, and she yells, «but you already make appointment for the 29th!» Mind you, it’s the 17th — plenty of time for cancellation. She sighs heavily, and goes, «FINE. I WILLREFUNDYOUMONEYBUT I DON’T KNOWWHEN.» Um… you kind of should tell me when, considering you’re telling me I have to drive out there to pick the check up. She also doesn’t return calls, so what. I should just blindly wait forever? Over $ 60? I would’ve said eh, screw it. But it’s the principle. This office takes advantage of unsuspecting consumers, and probably psst when any customer finds out that they were not entitled to extra money. Go read some reviews on google if you don’t believe me — I read one where this woman had a miscarriage and Dr. Kang didn’t bother to even explain what happened and made her leave in 5 mins. Heartless. Anyway, back to Ms. Revolting — I told her that she has an attitude, to which she responded, «YOUDON’T TELLME I HAVEATTITUDE. I DON’T HAVEATTITUDE. DOYOUKNOWME?» I said, «no, but you are being extremely unprofessional and it’s my opinion that you have a bad attitude. I’m just commenting and I don’t need to make this anymore personal, because I frankly don’t care what you think of yourself — I’m telling you I think you have an attitude. I am entitled to ask for a refund and I can cancel an appointment if I wish. You have been giving me attitude since day 1.» She goes, «I never have attitude — ITISYOUWHOHASATTITUDE, TELLINGME I YELLANDBEUNPROFESSIONAL.» Then she continued the drama by saying«ANDYOUHANGUPONMELASTTIME»(no, the phone call dropped), she continues… «SO I’M GOINGTOHANGUPNOW, OK?(a way of sarcastically asking me for permission to hang up just to one up me and show me she’s got no attitude — total fail) SOYOUKNOW, YOUDON’T ACCUSEMEOFHANGINGUPORANYTHING.» Excuse me, I said the phone call dropped, are you challenged? There is NOQUESTION that you have some SERIOUS attitude problems and for a lack of better words, you’re the biggest b*tch I’ve ever spoken to — you’re on the receiving end of a call at a doctor’s office. Have you no common sense or education? Should be working in a slaughterhouse smh. Anyway, unbelievable. I know this office won’t close down considering it’s partnered with Holy Name, but Dr. Kang should really try to replace her staff. they are repulsive. I can’t imagine what would’ve happened if I was giving birth here. Needless to say, I’m not going back and I’m here to say: consumer BEWARE. It has literally, the worst office admin staff — even though I don’t know her name, you will know who she is, bc you can’t hide her RBF and her low-class demeanor… I understand that many Koreans have language barriers and will actively seek out Korean speaking doctors, but count this one out. Stay away from. Dr. Kang’s services — I waited forever only to have a 2 minute checkup and for her to give me a birth control pill that SHE chose — turns out, she gets a kickback from it, and there’s no generic version(go figure). I had to call a month after my appointment there to ask them to change the medicine for a generic version of another one(AND I DIDTHERESEARCHMYSELF), because birth control is FREE. Anyway, I hope that revolting office admin woman learns a manner or two. Karma shall get the best of you.
