This restaurant is closed. There is a closure notice from the country health department in the front window and a For Sale sign in front of the building.

Came to dine here on Friday night. Some guy was sleeping on a bar table… Snoring. Is this place closed? It looked dead– but the doors were open. Scary. Won’t bother in the future. Beware.

I have NEVER written a bad review but this restaurant is AWFUL. It smelled like someone was smoking cigs in the dining room, the waiter gave us three different menus that didn’t correlate with the online menu, my wife got the cheese pie and it was as hard as a brick. We literally couldn’t cut through it and it was 11 dollars! I got a burger that was extremely greasy and tiny and«Greek» fries that were just salt pepper and oregano, disgusting. The burger made me feel awful afterwards, stay away from this place!

My husband and I picked this restaurant because it was close to our house and seemed to have good reviews on Unilocal. It was truly awful. The moment we walked in, the whole restaurant smelled like cigarette smoke. The server gave us menus, asked if we knew what we wanted to drink, then walked away without taking our drink order. He came back a few minutes later to give us different menus because the new ones he had given us had«typos». We were hoping to have lunch, so when we saw him again we asked for the lunch menu. He found some lunch menus, but then proceeded to tell us that they were out of several items. I am a vegetarian, and the choices were very limited and pricey. I settled on a spanakopita like dish called tyropita(cheese pie). My husband ordered a burger. My meal came with a «Greek» salad, which was a few huge pieces of iceberg lettuce, a few onions, a soggy tomato, one kalamata olive and a dusting of feta cheese. The«Greek dressing» was Italian. Not horrible, but not great either. When our meals came, it was a pretty small portion of tyropita for the cost of $ 11. Tried to cut into it, it was so hard I could not even cut it. The flaky crust just fell apart and the cheese inside was rock hard. The piece I did manage to break off and eat tasted like paper. I have never before in my life sent back food in a restaurant, but this was quite literally inedible. The server offered to get me something else, apologizing saying that most people don’t order that dish(not sure how this was supposed to make me feel better about it) but at this point my husband had already mostly finished his tiny greasy burger, so I declined and asked for the check. When the check came, I was a little surprised to see that we were still being charged for the tiny salad that came with the meal that I could not eat. Having been a server for many years, I didn’t feel right to keep complaining to the server about it. We paid our bill and left. We will not be going back.

While a past experience at this restaurant was quite good, I recently had dinner here, and it was abysmal. There was a very strong smell of cigarette smoke in the restaurant upon our arrival. The food was horrific(worse than high school cafeteria quality), though the service was acceptable/good. The staff only informed us that their ability to accept debit/credit cards was down AFTER the meal was over and the bill was rendered. Overall, one can and should tolerate the occasional off days at a restaurant, but this was a stunningly unpleasant experience.

The Greek Key is a quiet, vegetarian friendly, little whole in the wall with a tavern like appearance. The food is tasty, flavorful, and reasonably priced. The falafel was delicious and cooked perfectly, and I was very happy with the vegetarian dolmades. I’m hoping he is still doing the brunch on Sunday’s, the portions are generous and you can’t beat $ 2.50 mimosas! Can’t wait to try the spinach pie, hummus, and fried zucchini. Definitely going to make this a weekly spot. Super nice guy. Go check this place out, the food is fantastic.

Craving the sometimes elusive Lamb kebob while out of town for work, this was the closest I could find via the Unilocal.Lo and behold, aside from their beef/lamb Gyro there was no lamb to be had. The consolation lunch was a chicken souvlaki lunch primed with a lemon rice soup. The soup was hearty, warm with a little citrus tang while the tahina in the soulaki wrap really set it off for me. Satisfying portions with just enough flavor. If the dining experience was anything like the food I’d have rounded up to four stars, but the interior felt like a dive bar in a dive cave.

I had the stuffed fish special and the girlfriend had the sovlaki. We also had the a lovely flaming appetizer, saganaki. Everything was very good. Good service, Nice bar in the front only downfall of the place is that it was dated. We’ll definitely return.

I have been here several times since they opened. I love Greek food and was super excited to find an authentic restaurant locally. I have always liked this restaurant but my last 2 visits have been spectacular. I almost always get a gyro platter, usually with the chicken lemon soup. The gyro meat has gotten so much better since the owner got his own spit and roasts and slices it in house. It’s excellent. The tzadiki sauce, for me, the make or break point for any Greek place is tasty, creamy and not too garlicky. A thumbs up for sure. And desserts, also made in house I have learned are worth the trip alone. Baklava cheesecake is as good as it sounds. The wait staff is pleasant, attentive and timely. I have meet or seen the owner Nick on every visit. He’s a nice guy always looking to improve your dining experience. Oh and try the Sunday brunch. Yum! And $ 2.50 mimosas

Came for brunch today. Delicious food. Spinach pie was a very generous portion. Chicken kabobs were juicy and nicely seasoned. Greek stuffed French toast was different from the norm as it was deep fried and filled with custard. Very tasty meal. Consistently good food and attentive service. They are always willing to accommodate special requests and gracious with their flexibility. We have become regular visitors to this gem of a restaurant.

$ 5 chicken gyro on Tuesday was a definite win for lunch. I was craving that toasty flat bread for hours after we left. The place is cute inside and the waitress was friendly and attentive. We are adding it to our normal rotation for sure!

Not the same since the original owner sold out. Skip it. Now they lost their liquor license!

Best Greek from upstate to Manhattan. Try everything on the menu cause it’s all great. Fresh and all made on site. Ownership is fantastic. They more then care about their food and customers. If you don’t get your Greek food from here stop and go to the key. Get the hummus and enjoy!!!

Stuffed pepper was delicious, but the chicken in the Chicken Lemon soup was bad, making the rest of the meal difficult to enjoy. The beets and skordalia appetizer was just okay, with the beets seeming canned. Gyro sandwich was loaded with onions and lacking any extras or imagination. Greek salad was good, but did not include any dolmades. The service was very friendly. Overall, some highlights, but they need to tighten up some aspects to really represent good Greek cuisine.

If you want AUTHENTIC Greek Food this is the place to go. Dolmades are great, hummus is spectacular and Pastichio is a rare find in this area. Keep up the good work

I actually enjoyed my meal. The lamb and beef gyro meal worked for me as they left the pita out and provided me with rice to make it a gluten-free meal. I was surprised about a French fry option, so I tried the Greek fries… I would take the time and energy and simply make better regular fries. Beer was good. My friend and I arrived mid-afternoon so talked for hours and others arrived closer to dinner time. My friend loved the meze platter… I think that’s the name… lots of samples of Greek food on it.

The atmosphere is very pleasant and though a previous reviewer thought the temperature a little cold, that was not the case during our visit(I am always cold and I was very comfortable so that’s always a welcome plus in my book). The staff are all very pleasant, friendly, efficient and helpful. I overheard a young man, who I assume to be an owner or manager, assisting some diners choose gluten free foods and describing some of the less familiar dishes to them. Even though the restaurant was fairly busy, our food was quickly served. I am a big fan of lemon chicken soup and was happy that it was offered as an option as part of the meal. While the soup was ok, it wasn’t as lemony as I like it though it was quite thick and creamy with lots of rice. The Greek fries(which are sprinkled with some dried Greek oregano in addition to salt) are hand cut and nicely crisp without being greasy. I also had a gyro which was quite good – if there had been a tad more assertive flavor in the form of garlic or feta, I would have been a very happy girl. My dining companion had souvlaki – a very generous portion, but which she described as on the bland side. As a previous reviewer described dinner entrees as being very flavorful, I think I need to try those on another visit.
