I too am amazed at the previous bad review by Nancy G. I collect antique railroad dining car china and have used their service for years for all types of repairs and the results have consistently been better than expected. Their work is superb, great consistent, timely and friendly service as well as a great source for advice on care, etc. On top of all this their prices are extremely fair. This is the only china restoration service I recommend in this region.

Gave one estimate over the phone for a simple joining of two simple pieces of a glass figure no more than 4 mm in diameter; straight break; no fragments. Then increased estimate by more than 5 times to $ 150 once they realized it was Murano glass. Had it perfectly repaired elsewhere for $ 35 in about 7 minutes.

I brought my chipped decanter to Rattay’s and they repaired it within a week. The glass was nicely beveled and polished with no trace of the damage. For $ 32, they saved a lovely piece of Austrian crystal from the garbage heap.
I’m somewhat baffled by the previous reviewer’s experience. I didn’t encounter any snobbery during my visits. Of course, I didn’t have an in-​depth conversation with the staff. Maybe if I attempted to debate their methods or style? I have no idea.
Anyhow, there aren’t many shops in Los Angeles that specialize in this sort of work. It’s a bit far from my home in Los Feliz, but I’ll brave the traffic if another sacred vessel slips through my fingers.

Definition of Rattays = the opposite of customer service!!! Go here only if you want to bump into a couple of people who are so rude and unpleasant that they stink up the rest of your day. These guys are so arrogant they think they’re holy.
