Hard shell chicken taco, super yummy Pollo Saltido, yummy I work very close to this great locatio and its always buzzin at lunch. Cactus has really authentic, good tasting tacos and enchiladas. I never had one of their burritos. But the hard shell tacos are amazing with chicken. It’s slow cooked and shredded, really bomb! I’m reading too many whiny reviews about this place. Staff is cool and the food is definitely worth trying. What’s really amazing now is that they have added a full Peruvian menu. My wife had the pollo saltado which we both thought was as good if not better than any good Peruvian restaurant in the area.

Walked here during my lunch break. The place is small, very few tables. Price was ok… Flavor was not. First Mexican restaurant w/o Mexican cooks. Not sure if the cooks would make a difference, but I didn’t think the steak had any flavor at all. I ordered a steak torta, which was pretty big though. If you like decent Mexican food like I do, I wouldn’t recommend.

Nice people. Maybe best for take out or delivery. I did not personally enjoy the«green cactus burrito» with chicken… The other food I saw people eating looked pretty good & they were busy, so it’s probably just me. Very very tiny restaurant, no A/C… Uncomfortably hot on the particular day I dropped in. Food did seem clean, and the avocado salsa was tasty. Might try tacos if there is a next time.

I ordered a vegetarian burrito and specified multiple times no cheese. They not only put cheese on it but an extra helping of hair. When I called to complain they repeatedly hung up on me. Horrible. Never again.

Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. You Gotta Be Kidding — Name Cactus FRESH, Nothing Fresh We Had: We ate lunch there because of the«A» in the window — what a huge mistake — if I could give them a minus 2 Star rating, I would — they must«buy» their positive ratings to have a 3+ star overall rating. We have eaten at loads of Mexican restaurants up and down the So Cal coast and this ranks right up there with the worst. My husband had a bean and cheese wet burrito, at first he thought they put rice in it, no — they use specks of cheese that had NOT melted and it was served almost cold — the«wet» sauce was just marginal in taste. I had the tostada with chicken(I added the chicken as the man taking the order said it was boneless chicken roasted or whatever he called it) — double UGH, the tostada shell tasted rancid and it may have been cooked in rancid oil(I have NEVER in my life had rancid Mexican food that I recall), the chicken was a OMG, in tiny square pieces tasted old and not roasted — yuck), the lettuce in the tostada was in very large pieces like they just tore up a head of lettuce and threw it in, no cheese to be found, and the pinto beans were COLD and kind of hard. We didn’t say anything as there were what appeared to be repeat customers — the only reason I can think of is it must be cheaper. Final issue — I asked for water, he brings me lemonade and said no problem I could have for free — well, that tasted OLD and did not drink it and the salsas are nothing to write home about. Also, Hispanics did not cook the food. Beware — there’s better eateries out there! Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees.

3 $ for a side of pico on your 10 $ entrée. Plus an angry cashier. No thanks. Cooks is awesome. But really? Naaaaa

Prices are $ 2-$ 3 higher per item then what’s advertised on this web link. We ordered by phone then picked up and were surprised by the total. When we spoke to the owner about the price difference he stated that he bought the restaurant 4 years ago and hasn’t updated the web prices because the previous owner posted it and he doesn’t want to pay to fix it. What an idiot! The food has gone down hill and the prices went up! Won’t be back anytime soon. This place used to be packed during lunch but today it was empty at 12:30. Hope the owner gets a clue.

Cactus Fresh USED to be awesome. I would go especially for the green tomatillo/avocado sauce. They had young, friendly cashiers who were always willing to give extra chips or offer a bag to carry my food. But ever since Old Lady Cactus started running the cashier, they have gone DOWNHILL!!! I don’t know if she’s the older guy’s wife, sister, or whatever she is, SHENEEDSTOGO!!! She messed up my friend’s credit card transaction and didn’t even apologize or even acknowledge she was wrong. It was almost like using a credit card is YOUR fault! She doesn’t know or even care to learn the menu and ALWAYS gets my orders wrong. Whoever she is, she needs to be replaced or told to sit it out and let the real people work the register because she is RUDE!!! If they go back to the way they were when she WASN’T THERE, Cactus Fresh would be a much better place to have lunch! Seriously, if she’s there, just keep walking cuz you’re in for a bad experience!!!

This place is not good. Opted to go here for lunch on the go in place of Subway, and was excited for a yummy burrito that I don’t order often. They messed up on my order a simple veggie burrito, the guy put the sour cream inside when I asked for it on the side, and he looked at me saying«is that okay i made a really nice one for you?» I appreciate that, but NO it’s not okay, I asked for it on the side. I ended up saying sure, just because I was in a hurry and then the burrito he made broke in half, so they had to make another from scratch. The burrito wasn’t very good. Cold tortilla, no actual grilled veggies at all even though the menu says it includes, basic ingredients with no flavor at all. I could have made one better at home. Chipotle tops this place by far as it’s not an authentic taco/mexican food place at all, which I learned after today. I don’t think one employee was Mexican! Not that it matters, but it kinda does it needs some authentic flare with people who know how to make mexican food. Very un-pleased.

This place has gone to hell on the last month since the new cashier started last month. She doesn’t know the menu, messes up credit card transactions and never gets order right the first time. Best to hit the food trucks when they are up front.

Terrible service! Would go twice a week because it is close to my work. Was asked to wait 10 minutes to place an order, so I waited. Two other customers came in after me and placed their orders and when I asked why I was not able to give my order all I received was a shoulder shrug. Missed my whole lunch! Owner is an ass because all he said was I told you 10 minutes. I will never waste my time again at Cactus Fresh! Owner has no idea what customer service is. If I could give ½ star I would!!!

We love it here. My 9 year old daughter and I come once a week at least. It’s nice to have a place we both like. Yummy and so friendly. Glad we found it. We are loyal customers.

Great food! Been here a few times already. Love the rolled tacos. Can’t beat the nachos. Wish they were open late or on weekends but no complaints.

This place would be good if they didn’t mess up every order every time I go there during my short break. I mean come on. I always give them a other chance but this time they f***ed up :(

For a hole in the wall in a neighborhood u don’t want to take a drive in during an hour lunch break and want Mexican food this is the place to go. Its certainly not authentic but it is better than AMERICANIZED Mexican food like Taco bell. this place is like a Baja Fresh or Poquito Mas. Not bad food but it certainly isn’t worth $ 7.75 for a burrito.

Tiny little hole in the wall with some badass food. Not open for dinner and on weekends, but definitely worth your lunchtime. I can’t not stop by for a bite everytime I pass by. Would eat here more often if they were open nights and weekends. The chicken fajita burrito is the bomb.

I work in Sherman Oaks, so I’m always getting bored with the food choices that are close to the office. I was going to get another Subway sandwich(again), when I noticed this little Mexican place inside the same strip-mall. I decided, what the heck-give it a try. I have to say that I was disappointed in the menu selections, as there were not very many choices to pick from. I almost left. But, since I’m a brave diner, I decided to trust my initial instinct. I am SOOO glad I did. I went with a safe choice: Chicken Quesadilla. OMG. I don’t know what they do to the chicken, but this was heavenly. Best quesadilla of my life. Hands down. Eat here NOW.
