Horribly rude office staff. I was with him forever, before he went concierge… But when I asked for help with a prescription refill his receptionist hung up on me.

I have used Dr. Soppe for many years. He provides old school style service, where he spends whatever time is needed with his patients. He has helped me personally on a complicated medical issue, and he also helped my son resolve a very important matter. He even met us at the office on a Saturday morning to provide over-​the-​top service that I could never imagine getting from a doctor these days. When he recently adopted the concierge approach, I did not hesitate to sign up. My health is too important to take a chance with another doctor. I would recommend Soppe to others. He is very approachable and spends lots of time to diagnose and treat issues with his patients. I am very happy with his services.

Dr. Soppe has been our primary doctor for several years and he was great. Now that he has started his concierge practice, it is all about the mighty dollar. We could not afford to pay the 1,800.00 per person, so now we are forced to find a new primary doctor. We asked to have him refill a prescription, and because it would take 2 hours for a preauthorization (so they say). They will ONLY take the time if you are a CONCIERGE patient.
I guess 1,800.00 dollars per person can buy you simple services at an expensive rate.

I knew things had gotten bad with Dr. Soppe when he came into the exam room eating a biscotti & coke. He put his foot up on a stool so I had his crotch in my face. That was 2 years ago, since then I’ve only seen the PA Melissa. Now Dr. Soppe wants $ 60 to transfer my records to a new doctor since he’s gone «concierge» & wants $ 1800/​year for his services, plus normal fees for each visit. I wouldn’t go to him if he was the last doctor on earth, he obviously is money grubbing & really doesn’t care about his patients. Joan L.

Dr Soppe is a wonderful doctor. He not only really listens to your symptoms but also considers the whole condition of your life. He uses good old fashioned common sense and stopped a well meaning but aggressive orthopedic surgeon from performing an unnecessary surgery on me by insisting they just change the antibiotics I had been put on. I have too many good stories to tell about Dr Soppe and HIGHLY recommend him.

Dr Soppe is the smartest, kindest, most available Dr I have ever come in contact with as an adult. He and his staff spend time explaining and helping me with anything I ask. They even answer questions before I ask. I love every time I need to see him even when I am sick

Didn’t listen to my concerns as a patient. Didn’t explain things in common terminology despite my saying «I don’t understand.» I felt Dr. Soppe was condescending and my time with him was a complete waste of time.

I’ve been a patient of Doc Soppe since the early 1990s. I have pretty good PPO health insurance through my employer and can go to about any GP in the community. Doc is as good as they come, his staff are professional and know their business from the receptionist to the nurses and PA. Interestingly, every specialist I’ve ever had take care of problems from dermatology to surgeons who have asked who my family GP is, when I mention Soppe every response was positive re Soppe as ‘one of the best’ in the area. I have friends who would like to use him as their GP but, he doesn’t handle Medicare any longer due to the punishing amounts of paperwork and red tape. Highly recommend Dr Glenn Soppe, Encinitas, CA

If you are concerned about your health look for a Dr. who is genuinely concerned about helping you. Dr. Soppe seems to be preoccupied and will make it clear that surfing is much more of a priority than his patients. I had a terrible experience with Dr. Soppe and have a few friends with similar experiences. There are plenty of good docs in the area that seem to be genuinely caring, unfortunately Dr. Soppe doesn’t seem to fit in that category.
