Of all the doctors I have here in SD, from my PCP, to my Gastro-​E, to my Dermatologist, Dr. Seradj was/​is the ONLY one who really seems to care about ‘me’. He was really the ONLY ONE who stepped up and seemed to care when I had a recent health issue to deal with. Most of my experiences with doctors here in San Diego (I come from the Bay Area) have been pretty much ‘mediocre’. Most seeming to just ‘go with the flow’; not really listening to what is going on/​what your saying. Dr. Seradj is a genuineTOP NOTCH doctor, and his staff is excellent too.

Dr. Seradj is exceptional, and his staff is fantastic! I am a huge fan! I recently moved to the area and was in search of a new doctor since I did not care to continue with my old OBGYN who was awful.
I went to see Dr. Seradj because although my old OBGYN said I was fine and just had a couple of cysts, I just didn’t feel well and was in a lot of pain. During our appointment, he listened attentively to my concerns and history. He decided to do an ultrasound and discovered that I had cysts which were related to my endometriosis and had returned. He recommended I have D&C lap to clean me up and help with the pain and increase my chances conceiving. We scheduled the surgery shortly after. During the surgery, he checked my tubes to ensure there was no damage, and that they properly worked which really provided me piece of mind. The surgery went well, and I am really thankful to have Dr. Seradj taking care of me.

I have had excellent experiences with Dr. Seradj. He is very experienced, is pragmatic, and thinks outside the box. He generally maintains a serious demeanor, but I have managed to make him chuckle. MUCH MORE IMPORTANTLY, when I went to see him he immediately noticed two important problems during the examination that had not been noticed by the three female ob/​gyns and a female internist who performed a «pelvic» who had previously examined me.
Most recently, I had a cat scan ordered by a pulmonologist. The scan said I had pulmonary fibrosis. My pulmonologist was out of town when I received the results. Research on the Internet universally reported that I had two to four years to live after diagnosis, that the disease is progressive and there is no cure. Fortunately, I had previously scheduled my yearly exam with Dr. Seradj. I asked him about my diagnosis, and he spent at least an additional 20 minutes with me explaining that, because I had good lung function, etc., this was probably non-​progressive and not to worry too much about it. He was very informed regarding lung disease. He said there is a lot of «junk» medicine on the Internet and don’t rely on it. Most encouraging, he told me his mother was diagnosed with this condition at 80 and is still gardening and trimming her trees at 95. In sum, he was extremely comforting and kind, and took all the time I needed to reassure me.
Later the same day, I had an appointment with my pulmonologist, who corroborated everything Dr. Seradj told me, said there was less than a ten percent chance that my disease was progressive, that I have probably had it 5 — 10 years without progression or symptoms, and that I have great lung function.
Dr. Seradj is definitely my go-​to doctor and I am hoping he never retires. I am also referring my daughter to him.

I will not be returning to see Dr. Seradj — ever. His staff is very nice, but Dr. Seradj himself was condescending and pretty close to downright rude. I was a new patient just in need of a yearly check-​up. When he came in to see me, he sat down, looked at my file for a minute and looked at me and asked «Alright, what do you need?» in a tone that made me feel like he did not want to be there (odd, right? Don’t doctors WANT patients?). I told him I just needed a check-​up, and he started to read over my health history questionnaire. He then questioned me about a non-​OB-​related disorder that I have, demanding to know who had diagnosed it. It was clear that he wasn’t familiar with it, and he proceeded to tell me that it was not what we believe it to be but probably «just anxiety». [I responded that actually I know quite a good deal about the disorder, having read multiple books about it, it’s treatment, etc., and that it IS what I have. Never mind that my son attends a special ed preschool run by the school district because he also has this disorder.]. Then he asked about what birth control method we’re using and barked out this — «That’s going to fail. Use something else.» Ok dude, I appreciate your advice, but could you give it in a way that doesn’t make me feel like you think I’m the stupidest person alive? So, moving on to the actual exam, he spent the time while he was examining me lecturing me on things I need to do if we have more children, such as medications I shouldn’t be on, how I shouldn’t go over my due date because one of my previous children was a large baby, etc. Again, I don’t mind advice, but seriously, it felt like I was in some scene from a movie from the 1950’s with the domineering, all-​knowing doctor, and I was supposed to be the demure little lady eager to be guided by such a wise man. No thank you. Please do not go to this doctor! I mean, maybe he was just having a bad day, but really, there are enough other OBs that you don’t need to be treated like an idiot by this guy.
