I never thought I’d write a review for a dentist, but Dr. Tran and her staff are amazing! Dr. Tran is personable and warm, not to mention very quick and extremely knowledgable. She’s always happy to answer any questions with a smile and explanation. I’ve had a cleaning and fillings, and both were the most painless dentist experiences I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!

i am just shocked! Dr. Tran is nothing short of a miracle worker. Painless and fast she saved another tooth. The closest you’ll get to actually looking forward to a dentist visit! I booked a routine cleaning with Dr. Tran based on her Unilocal reviews, but was dreaaading it out of fear. I’d avoided the dentist for years and had low-​grade anxiety about ever going in, so it was fully out of my comfort zone to put my trust into a new practice.
Dr. Tran is the absolute best. The cleaning was a breeze and there was no judgement whatsoever for my poor attendance at the dentist in the past. She made me feel like the few cavities I did have weren’t my fault at all (angel!) and checked in repeatedly to make sure I wasn’t experiencing any pain or discomfort.
My appointments for the fillings were the same. She coaches you through what to expect and works quickly to minimize the time you spend in the chair.
Dr. Tran really is a doll. She has a distinctive, kindhearted laugh that instantly puts you at ease and she’s just great at what she does, period.
She’s the kind of dentist that has you scheduling your appointments six months out without thinking twice, because taking care of your teeth is a no-​brainer when your visits go so smoothly.

I initially saw Dr. Tran at the end of December for a routine exam and cleaning. I made an appointment with her based on her reviews here on Unilocal.

This past monday I went back to get a filling & have two current metal fillings changed to white composites. They were so efficient in doing their great work. They are awesome and I had a lot of fun laughing with them. That’s right… laughing at the dentist’s office… what!!!
I will definitely come back here… especially since I still eat sugar like it’s going out of style…

Dr Tran is all about helping patients not getting rich. Very refreshing in today’s environment. Her staff is great as well, especially Maritza. I would highly recommend her.

Saw the new patient special every time I went to drop off the kids or pick them up from preschool just around the corner from here. Finally stopped in. They got me in a couple days later and had a bunch of times to choose from. My old dentists I had to book months ahead. Like I can accurately schedule that far out.
The receptionists actually called me to remind me of the appointment. Not a computer. Very friendly. The hygienists did a skip/​run from placing the xray to taking the picture. She said I know it is uncomfortable so I want it done as quick as possible. Super sweet service!
Phuong did a thorough examination and cleaning. Tought me what to look out for and how to care for certain things to avoid more work later. Not at all an up salesman like my last dentists.
What was I thinking sticking with the last guy for so long. So happy to of found Dr Tran.

Dr. Tran is so sweet and caring. She is also very conservative, unlike a lot of dentists who want you to get more treatment than you need so they can charge you more.

I had just moved here from out of state and turned to Unilocal to help me find a great dentist. I booked an appointment easily with Dr. Tran’s front office. Communication was great and I was able to book on short notice which was an added benefit!
My visit made my day! Her staff is very friendly and my teeth cleaning went very smoothly. I felt as if I was making new friends while I was there– that’s how inviting her office was! I’m not kidding! It was a great experience and I can’t wait to go back for my next cleaning!
Next time I’m going to make a point to get there early for my appointment because the waiting room chairs are the most comfortable waiting room chairs ever created.

It’s rare to say that you LOVE your dentist. I LOVE our new dentist. Dr. Tran and her staff are all so friendly. The service is very personable and comfortable. I had no pain during my cleaning which is rare. I’m excited we found a good one!

Dr. Tran is wonderful! I was nervous when the previous dentist in this space, Dr. Lee, sold his practice. Dr. Lee was the first dentist I actually liked, and I was sad when he moved. But Dr. Tran took over the practice, and she’s great! She’s very warm and smiley.
What I like most about her is that she doesn’t scold or shame you for not having perfect teeth. I could honestly take better care of my teeth, and her gentle encouragement and advice has helped me a lot more than shaming would have. I’m getting a cavity filled on Saturday (cleaning was today). Not all dentists have Saturday hours so this is great.
I’m keeping her as my dentist even though I live in Northern California because she’s great and I just make an appointment when I visit my family here.
Also her office staff is wonderful.

Dr. Tran is beyond amazing! Not only is she extremely talented and professional at her job in terms of the services and advice provided, she has the ability to put one at complete ease will all procedures. She’s warm, sincere and such a nice person! I have never loved a dentist and felt so good at my appointments till now. Dr. Tran and her A-​Team are beyond exceptional to work with. I had not been to a dentist for a few years and like most people, get nervous in general for dental check-​ups. The staff at New Leaf made me feel welcome and at ease the moment I walked through the door. Dr. Tran herself is warm, funny, and has a very calm demeanor that instantly allowed me to trust her and the recommendations made by her office. She is very hands on and made sure I knew exactly what was going to be taking place through every step of the procedures I had done. I had quite a bit of dental work done and the entire experience was smooth, efficient and has changed the way I view dentistry. I highly recommend New Leaf to many of my friends and family members and they have all had the same wonderful experience. Enjoy the expertise of this office and the many laughs you are sure to share.

Dr. Tran is to my family a dental angel. I had been referred to a children’s dentist in Vista for my kids dental needs and I put the address in my GPS and ended up at a private school’s headquarters in Encinitas. With two young daughters ages 5 & 8 in the car for our half hour adventure that led to a dead end, I was determined to get to a dentist appointment, any dentist appointment. My 8 year old shouted out «Mom! Family Dentist across the street!» We drove over, went into New Leaf Dentistry, talked to the most kind Maritza who scheduled us an appointment and from that day on we have only experienced the best customer service, attention to detail and calm understanding from Dr Tran and her team. Her assistant is also top notch and has 4 kids of her own so their care of your kids is impeccable. Both my girls love Dr. Tran and this is after all of us having some scary dentist visits haunting our past so it says a lot. After seeing how comfortable my girls were with Dr. Tran, I decided to set my own first appointment which went so well and we are now trying to convince my husband to come in for a visit, ha! Don’t want to go on too long but Dr. Tran herself is a beautiful and caring person who somehow has kept the personal touch alive in a modern world full of high tech and fast paced doctor visits. We love Dr. Tran! :)

I am so glad I switched Encinitas dentists and moved to Dr. Tran’s office. She is warm and friendly, and doesn’t gouge. Let me repeat that: she doesn’t gouge. I have been to too many other dentists that tried to nickel and dime for everything. And when you leave Dr. Tran’s office, it’s not with a bill, but with a patient «goody» bag (toothbrush, toothpaste, floss). If you have misgivings or qualms about your current dentist (the last practice I was with felt like a used car dealership), I would give New Leaf Dentistry a try. It’s casual and comfortable and definitely offers relief from the usual dental anxiety.

I had not been to the dentist for about 3 years and was pretty nervous. Dr. Tran was thorough and fast. I am always afraid of getting pressured to fix issues prematurely and this experience was just the opposite! She told me what i should be watching out for and gave me great tips for slowing down tooth decay and preventing future damage. I now live in LA but will be visiting San Diego to go to Dr. Tran for my future dental visits. It was such a weight lifted to finally get to the dentist and she was so professional and honest, and my teeth look much whiter! Will not be waiting 3 years again.

I found Dr. Tran through a co-​worker who went here who said Dr. Tran was amazing (and took our insurance) so I decided to give her a try. I could not be happier! My front tooth was knocked out when I was 11 and I’ve had a discolored crown ever since. It’s really bothered me my whole life but I have been a little scared and hesitant to fix it. I also went to other doctors who gave me ridiculous pricing and thought I just couldn’t afford it. Dr. Tran took my insurance and make it very affordable. She also knows what she’s doing. Because I wanted my front two teeth to match we decided to put a crown on both from teeth (was also going to make them symmetrical in shape and size). I was extremely hesitant to do this but took the risk in hopes of a perfect smile. There was no pain and Dr Tran was very comforting in removing my old crown. I had a temporary one on for 2 weeks– they got me in as soon as possible to get my new crowns in. They came out FANTASTIC. Color matched, shape was great and for the first time since I was 11 I am not hesitant to smile. :) I also got a cleaning and she was able to remove a few stains that other dentists have not. The office itself is not the newest office that I would have probably felt a little more comfortable with but I would not let that deter you for going here or trusting Dr. Tran. HIGHLY recommended! :) Thank you Dr. Tran!

I never really loved my dentist until I met Dr. Tran. Not only is she friendly, but Dr. Tran really knows what she is doing. I figured that I had a few cavities when I saw little dark spots on some of my teeth. After the X Rays, I was pleased to hear that i was cavity free. Dr. Tran informed me that my fillings from 10 years ago were beginning to decay and that is why I had those spots. She advised me to replace the fillings within the next year. I appreciated her honesty and have the utmost confidence in Dr. Tran. Thank you for a wonderful dental experience!

I had a tooth ache and was looking for a new dentist in the area as I recently moved here. I contacted Dr. Phuong’s office and from the minute I spoke with the front office manager, Maritsa, I was hooked. Maritsa was caring, knowledgeable and friendly. I was able to get in that day and was pleasantly surprised at the convenient location. I was greeted with a smile. The dental assistant, Jose, took me in and was friendly and put me at ease. He took x-​rays quickly and efficiently. Dr. Tran, a female, came in with a warm and caring and empathetic personality. She gave me the options that I had available to me. Maritsa came in and advised me what the charges were and what my insurance would cover. I knew exactly what I was going to be charged. Dr. Tran explained everything and showed me my x-​rays. During my two day procedure, Dr. Tran did not hurt me at all. She was also very attentive in asking me if she was hurting me which made me feel at ease. I feel that I have found a great dentist that I can trust especially with such a delicate and often frightful situation. Thank you so much.
