Kathy was awesome! I’ve never been airbrushed before and it’s changed my life! Who needs the damaging of the sun when you can have a realistic tan (Kathy can adjust levels of color to make this happen) and the best part is that it doesn’t have an odor!!! I’ve tried several products in the past– St. Tropez, Fake Bake, etc. but they don’t compare to this!!!
Kathy is very friendly and knowledgeable about her profession!

Gosh, if I wish there’s an option to rate this place zero. Shannon is the worst person ever, I wish she would stay out of business forever. I purchased 3 buywithme voucher for mani-​pedi for 25 dollars because I was attracted to the SpaRitual products. I called Shannon to schedule a mani-​pedi on Feb 17. She only texted me back and indicate her first availability is not until March 2. That’s quite a long time to wait to get a nail done. But since she’s coming from Orange County, so I understand the dilemma and patiently waited. However on the day of the appointment, I went to the salon. The store is pitch black. I waited minimum of 15 – 30 minutes for my 6:30pm appointment. When I called the store, of course no one is picking up, so my only option is texting Shannon again. She never called me back, instead she texted «I send you a text at 5:30 (which she never did) sorry the power went out, guess I should called» So we ended up reschedule through text message and move it to March 15.
On march 14, she ended up texting me saying that «sorry for the late notice, but I need to cancel our appointment tomorrow. I’ve gone out of business.» I was quite angry since she could have give me a call to inform me instead of texting, especially canceling twice on me last minute. I responded her back” It’s really late notice consider you’ve done it twice already, It’s very rude and you should at least call“
She responded «Whatever! If you had any idea of the HxLL I’ve been going through to salvage my business, you wouldn’t be such a BXTCH!»
Extremely unprofessional and wish that she stay out of business forever.

I had a great experience this morning at the skin studio. I had an airbrush tan, and felt fine being almost naked in front of a stranger. The studio is upstairs, above the Illusions hair salon. It is private, quiet, and pleasant (my appt was at 9am). My airbrush tan came out GREAT! I was given great instructions (exfoliate before you come in — I used bath gloves), and was told what to expect for the next 6 – 12 hours. It was a sugar-​based formula, so it was sticky for about 10 minutes afterward. I would definitely try this place out if you live in the area. Park on the 101 for easy access to the studio.

Bought a groupon for tanning here a little while ago and I was very happy. The custom spray tan was a perfect shade (not orange-​y) and had no obnoxious odor. I could even go straight to shoe shopping without having to hide from the public! My friends all marveled at how healthy I looked (before I revealed that I just had a spray-​tan)! The ladies here are super-​sweet and welcoming. The studio looks like a converted townhome, so it has a cozy vibe (tanning, skin services upstairs and hair services downstairs). Can’t wait for my next trip to come up so I can come back for another spray tan!

I have come to Illusions to see Kathy multiple times for an eyelash perm and tint. The service is amazing! I have very thin, blonde, straight eyelashes and even though they’re long they are barley noticeable. Kathy works her magic and wala! Instant mascara that doesn’t smudge! The studio has a very chic modern feel and her products have worked wonders on my skin. I highly recommend Kathy at Illusions to anyone looking for a fresh faced look! :)
