Candlewood Suites Emporia

Great choice for a night or a week. Clean, comfortable rooms with tasteful décor & full kitchen. Will definitely stay here again.

I stayed for one night about a month ago while in town for business, and while it was an all right stay I don’t know that I would stay here again.
As far as Candlewood Suites go, this one could use a little attention. While it was definitely clean and had all the usual amenities of a Candlewood Suites, it was just a little rough around the edges. The cabinets were stuck in the early 90s, as were all the linens and draperies. Just a touch of a remodel would do wonders for this location.
More importantly, traveling as a female I had some safety concerns. For one thing, the secondary (turn knob) lock on my door didn’t seem to be working. I did throw the deadbolt, but I didn’t feel like my door properly secured. I also went to the workout room (again, in need of a remodel!) which I found out was half exercise equipment and half laundry room… So a guy on his phone doing his laundry stared at me while I was working out the entire time. Super fun stuff.
Like I said, it was clean and comfortable which is really the biggest items in a hotel, but I definitely wasn’t sorry to check out in the morning.

We recently stayed here as we were stranded due to a snowstorm in the area while making our way back to Texas. We were pleasantly surprised by how clean, fresh smelling and quiet it was. We got a great nights sleep before heading out the next morning. The staff was very nice and helpful. Truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely consider it if we are ever in the area again.

They seem to have a big problem with technology. Internet always down, TV barely worked, even the digital thermostat was wonky. Beds were ok. Disinterested staff (not rude however).

I am a «hotel germaphobe» and this passed my test. We picked this because of the price and ratings, and it was perfect. The beds were comfy, the room and bathroom was clean, the staff was friendly.
I don’t go here often but would absolutely stay here again!

Waited nearly an hour for our rooms passed check in time. Two of the parties guests rooms were not ready two hours after check in time so they provided a room at the same rate but with only a king bed. Their excuse was they had cooperate auditors in to inspect rooms. (5 rooms total). During this inspection the auditors would have removed sheets from the bed and checked the rest of the room for dust, plumbing, overall cleanliness. How this affected out rooms to be pushed back for an hour is unknown. They then mixed up rooms and names of guests, gave wrong keys to some. Disappointing stay with bad excuses for lack of preparedness.
