I am shocked there are not more reviews of this spot! handcraft studio school is a gem! I am so happy to have discovered this great space and their cool offering of classes. I attended the ceramic spoon class over the past two sundays, and I’m so stoked I did. the class was wonderful, and I thoroughly enjoyed everything about it! coming with zero experience, I was a little intimated until the moment I walked in — it’s a sweet place with no pretensions. I imagine all classes are awesome — as the experience as a whole was great. the space is lovely — clean, open and bright — it is so easy to get to(even from san francisco, where I am based), parking was plentiful, all aspects of the course set up were so well organized and a beautiful spread of teas, water and delicious snacks were provided. handcraft studio school knows what it’s doing and I feel so lucky there’s something like this in our area! check it out!

I visited Handcraft Studio school for a calligraphy class with Diva Pyari, and it’s a lovely classroom and a really fantastic class. I highly recommend it! Ms. Pyari was pretty attentive and we got to try a lot of different types of papers and inks; I am definitely planning to go back for another of her calligraphy classes when I have some time :) The other classes that are held here also look pretty interesting – I’ve been eyeing the Hungarian embroidery class – so I think there’s a good chance I’ll be back here again. It’s a decent teaching space and I like the concept of a shared space that people can hold classes in to teach their various crafts :)

Handcraft Studio is a work space to do various crafts and great for someone like me who has hobby A.D.D. Doing something fun like arts and crafts(along with cooking) is my escape and way of relaxing. And in the end, come up with something beautiful. This weekend, Tiffanie Turner of papelSF offered a paper dahlia making class at the studio which is convenient for me as i initially saw one of her classes in SF. I’ve seen her work on etsy, pinterest and Rare Device and her work is amazing! Lucky for me, i was able to sign up for her class at Handcraft in Emeryville. Tiffanie is patient, fun, helpful and just a talented person who loves sharing her craft. I hope she teaches other classes in the future. That 2.5 hour class today just flew by! Great space to have a private party with your favorite local artist! Conveniently located by two of my favorite places, Townhouse Grill and the Holistic Institute with plenty of FREE street parking unlike SF.
