Excellent service! The pork tenderloin was legit. Also, had our kiddo with us and he was VERY welcome.

I just ate a good old Indiana hand breaded tenderloin at the former Elwood, Indiana opera house. This historical site delivers really good home style cooking. The daily specials are hearty and like good old down home cooking. The tenderloin meat was juicy and tender. My sister gave me a taste of her shredded roast beef sandwich which was delicious. It was a very nice lunch. I just hope Elwood can sustain it.

OMG!!! Those onion petals are by far the best we have ever had. I order a cheese burger that was so thick I had cut in half to eat every last bite. Hubby Stromboli he said it was very tasty also. The waitress was awesome in filling our drinks just as we where getting to ask for a refill. But she already had the in hand. If ever passing through this small town. Stop by for a bite or a drink. The atmosphere was very pleasing. Had old pictures of the town. Still had the tin ceiling. There were booths, tables and a divider to separate the bar area.

We stopped in the Opera House Pub last weekend, before a show at the Opera House(Yes, Elwood has an actual Opera house!!), and had a very good experience! The atmosphere leans towards the classy side of casual. It’s nicely decorated with photographs of the history of the area. Nice bar with a TV or two above it, so one can check the sports scores without being bombarded by TV’s on every square food of the walls. The service was simply stellar. Even though they were packed… a lot of folks were dining here, pre-show, the servers did a great job of keeping drinks topped off, and orders were taken and food delivered in a timely manner. I had the breaded tenderloin, and I’d say it was pretty good, but not stellar. Those seasoned potato wedges, though, were just awesome! My wife had a Porterhouse steak, and it was HUGE, and cooked exactly as she requested. They’ve got a nice selection of local, regional, and national beers also. All in all, a very good experience. This restaurant is a very welcome addition to Elwood!
