Trattoria Peppino was put to the test recently as they were the lunch stop for 60 Kindergarten/Junior Kindergarten students, the teachers and chaperones after watching a play at Dominican. We put them to the test and they passed with flying colors. Hungry antsy kids can be a nightmare but the delicious pizza was the antidote for that. The three adults at my table all agreed that their sausage thin crust pizza was superb. Nice amount of tomato sauce base and really good italian sausage on a thin crust that held up well. Some cheese pizza also got passed around, and by the look of the diminishing pie, it looked to be a solid winner as well. The servers were helpful – keeping us supplied with napkins and more drinks(yes, that was our table with two spilled glasses of water). Such a kind establishment to let us take over both sides of the restaurant like that. They have outdoor seating that will be perfect if this weather stays consistent.

I’ve been going here for over a decade, they have excellent Italian food and very reasonably priced. It is a must try if you love Italian food.

Will never ever go back to this place. Went to dinner with friends the first time. We loved going to the restaurants next to them and decided to check it out. Went in and server dropped us a basket of bread and butter. Need I mention she never asked us for water and bring us plates and utensils. We let it go. Then when our orders were taken, the server had the biggest attitude and was I mentioned I was allergic to mushroom and if I could switch for another vegetable and she said no that’s just how it’s made. secondly after 5 minutes we realized we never even got asked for soup or salad. My friend had to walk towards her to mention it to her and she lied and said«oh I thought I did». To mention again, she never got us plates or drinks even after taking our orders. She came back and rolled her eyes and said soup or salad and never even apologized. She basically threw our dinner on the table and never came back to check or get us a refill. We were upset with our experience and we decided to speak to a manager. The manager apologized and what really ticked us off was that she just went to the back with the server and was giggling. Our bill came out to $ 33 so two of us paid cash $ 24 and the rest on card. She was taking so long to swipe the card so we went up to the front. The server had the audacity to say«u only gave me $ 14 in cash.» This was very wrong and unprofessional. She kept denying that we never gave her $ 24 and we definitely mentioned to check the cameras. As soon as we mentioned to check the cameras, or we will call the cops, her story changed to oh maybe I didn’t count it right. Out of anger we did mention how disappointed we were with our experience and one of the cooks jumped into the conversation saying«don’t talk about our server like that». We were giving our honest opinion in a respectful manner. We got treated horribly, accused of jipping, and disrespected by the other staff. Will never ever come back to the restaurant. Save your money and go somewhere better treated

Four of us went to lunch today, we had great service. We got a salad, pasta and 2 sandwiches. Everything was above average, price was better than Panera or other North Ave eateries. Will be going again soon.

Unchanged really, from prior visits, although the husband was sad that the polenta is now a bowl of mush versus the old«crispy brick» that they used to have. Whatever, the kids loved it and it gave me something to feed them other than bread bits and some of my soup. I got the angel hair pasta with vegetables and goat cheese — I literally made three meals out of the amount they gave me. Fresh, tasty, fine. The husband had a sausage pizza and thought there was too much cheese, but he is crazy about having only a «touch» of cheese on anything. I tried a slice and thought it was good — sauce not too spicy, crust(thin) crisp and not too heavy. Service was great — our waitress had our twins mesmerized the whole night! Still not a lot of people dining in — and we were here around 6:30 — 7:30 on a Saturday, but the phone rings off the hook, so maybe they do a lot of take out?

Love this restaurant! We have ordered from the catering menu a few times for bday parties and for delivery and is always a great experience with great good, great service and good prices. I highly recommend the chicken Vesuvio, chicken fettuccine Alfredo, baked goat cheese and pizza… everything always tastes so yummy and fresh. The delivery driver is always very nice and polite as well as the guy that always answers the phone. Will definitely order again!

My sisters and I hosted a surprise anniversary party here for my parents. Everything about the experience was AMAZING! The room was perfect and the manager, George and the staff were so helpful and accommodating. The staff and waitresses provided excellent service. Lastly, and most importantly– the food was awesome. So many of the guests came up to me commenting how they would come back again to eat the delicious food. I can’t say enough good things about this place!

First and last time here. I was very disappointed with today’s visit as I was craving Italian food. I walked in to Peppinos greeted by the host and seated. We were offered drinks, I ordered a glass of wine and my guest ordered a beer. We weren’t offered water until the middle of our visit and that’s because we had to ask it. There were food flies and that made my visit pretty annoying. Eventually I had to have my wine replaced because the food fly landed in my glass. I decided to order the shrimp Alfredo I cant complain it was okay my guest enjoyed the thin crust pizza. We ordered fried calamari which was good. The French fries were over cooked in what seemed like old oil. I give Peppinos two stars for their poor service. I will definitely not be returning here nor will I recommend it to anyone.

On a warm Sunday afternoon I was looking for a place with out door seating. There are several place along north Abe in Elmwood park the foot the bill. I almost ate at panera but I try to stay away from chains. I stopped in to this place and was glad I did. The good The service was great with my waiter checking several time that I had all I needed. I was the only person sitting outside. The sandwich the davinci was fresh, the mozzarella and peppers were supurb. The sandwich was far better that what I may have had at panera. The outdoor seating is nice, north ace is a little loud, but that is city life. The bad The outdoor seating is right on North Ave so there is a lot of car noise. Really nothing that can be done about that though.

This restaurant is amazing. I’m very impressed and will definitely return. The food is amazing and the service is excellent. The restaurant is very clean and features a TV and casino games too. I highly recommend the sausage giambotto and chicken Vesuvio. Leave room for the DELICIOUS tiramisu.

I’ve had nothing but great food and experience here. The staff is courteous and accommodating. My favorite is the pasta primavera with chicken, broccoli, peppers, and onions. Absolutely delicious. Easily the best pasta I’ve had. I also enjoy their sandwiches. Complimentary bread is consistently good. Overall I think this place is a gem! Very underrated.

Service not great. Managers SO loud. Restaurant very odd. Didn’t get good service or attention until waitress saw we ordered a lot-meaning $ 100 bill. Only then did she greet us nicely. Will not return ever. Too bad, food is good but would say great if it wasn’t for mediocre greeting or lack of and overall atmosphere and service.

We’ve always driven on 64(north Avenue) passed Peppinos many times and on Saturday night we decided to order an 18″ inch pizza with tomatoes, chicken and black olives for 28.00 dollars. I was expecting the works and was very disappointed, it was soggy the crust was under cooked it just wasn’t right. The old lady stuck it back in the oven, i though that was sweet. I wont be back, I will pass as I’ve always have

I have been coming to peppinos for the last 8 years or so. They never fail me! The baby shell basciamella is amazing!!! The best pasta I have ever had anywhere! I usually order out or dine in! If you are wondering what pasta to choose please choose this one! It’s the best! I also order fried calamari which is amazing and the mussels! Everything on the menu is delicious! What I really love about this place is how inexpensive it is! The other night I ordered the pasta, polenta, salad and mussels and my total came to 20 dollars! You can’t beat that price for how delicious the food is! Lastly, if you want to have a private party they close off half of the restaurant and provide you with your own bar and bartender! This is truly a place that is a perfect little gem in elmwood park! If your in the area and in the mood for Italian. Please try it out !

Nick, our server, was very friendly and efficient. We had Caprese salad, bruschetta and fried Mozzarella. The gang enjoyed all of them. Had three pizzas. Above average overall but the sausage didn’t have a lot of flavor. We would come back for entrees as they sounded yummy!

So my girlfriend and I discovered this place when she moved into a nearby condo. The food was great, the service quick, and the portions huge! Then we stopped eating there for a while(no particular reason). So on a night where she was out with her girl friends I decided to call them up for some delivery. That was the high point of the experience. I ordered my usual and was promised delivery within an hour. 1 hour and 40 minutes later, a driver shows up at my door. I pay him, open my food to discover it is cold, the sauce is separating, and the portion is about half of what it used to be. I don’t know what the hell happened but this place is taking a nose dive. The quality of the food is not there anymore, the delivery is unreliable, and it is just overall not worth it. I think I am going to have to search for a new place…

Went here on a Tuesday night with my family. Very Cousy atmosphere, but the service is terrible. We had to ask for water everytime and waited 30 minutes until she took our orders. I honestly don’t know why we even stayed.
