The best happy hour specials! I got the mussels in wine sauce which is huge, and clam bake which were huge clams but just 2 of them… but still very filling. My friend got a thin crust cheese pizza which was good as well but nothing special honestly… and also a chicken empanada which was also tasty… service was great, we came in about 6 pm on a Wedn and there were only 5 people there. We also shared a pink sangria pitcher which is freshly made for you… there are no fruits in there like a traditional sangria but it was still pretty good. I would assume it was Rose wine but I never asked… overall this may be a spot we come back to but just for the HH specials…

Just had the platter with olives, bread, hummus, and bruschetta. It was very good. Had sangria and couple martinis which pour was nice and heavy. Low lit and could be a cool place for first date.

I tried Just Grapes Lounge this past weekend with my sister. I was on the fence about it because their average Unilocal score has gone up and down(between 3 – 4 stars) in the past few months but I wound up enjoying it. Just Grapes Lounge is a small place located in a strip mall. It is very dim, which I liked(great for date night), with a bunch of small tables, a bar and a lounge area with 2 – 3 couches and a fireplace. Even though it was a Saturday night, the place was pretty empty. It gave me the feeling of being at [a way less unique version of] Archetypus in Edgewater, if you’re familiar with that restaurant. We got a few drinks & three tapas. I really enjoyed the food! The mixed olives were delish, the hummus was VERY good, although I wish it came with a bit more, and the vegetable pizza was truly incredible. The pizza alone made this 3 star review increase to 4 stars. The pizza has a soft, fluffy crust that gives a crunch when you bite it. The toppings are fresh and delicious. I was supposed to split it with my sister but, after I polished off half, my hand creeped to her side and two of her pieces were stolen! I’m not sure if I would RUSH back to this restaurant, however if I’m craving delicious pizza for dinner and a nice, dim atmosphere(and full bar) I would choose it.

Worst service ever! Took almost 45 minutes to get our first tapa! They forgot what we ordered. Manager was very rude. We asked why the food was taking so long and his response was«we’re very busy in the kitchen, that’s my short answer. What do you want»? Seriously??? That’s how you please your customers?!? Unbelievable! Oh wait, he got us a free pitcher of Sangria when he realized he was being an a**hole!

We had a bunch of different small plates. All very good. All empanadas are legit and margarita pizza is unique.

A little hidden gem! The pizza & cheese platter were delicious. They have a great variety of wine and a very attentive bartender. The only thing that bothered me was that it was very dark I almost couldn’t see the menu.

Just Grapes Lounge is wine-tastic! You will probably drive right past this place on your first try, given the way the parking lot flows, but please turn around and head on back! Visited here with Hottie, my sister, and her husband on a Saturday night around 6:30PM. We had the place to ourselves but after about 30 minutes, it started filling up. We sat in the front at the cool«tree table» and ordered up a storm. We sampled about 3 different types of wine(6 ounce pours). The bartender(her name escapes me… she was blonde and super friendly) offered some suggestions for us based on the fact that the four of us really like Pinot Noir and Malbec. You can order wine in 4 ounce, 6 ounce, or 8 ounce pours. For tapas, we ordered The Chef’s Board(three meats and three cheeses, along with grapes and apples), pulled pork and shredded chicken empanadas, marinated skewered Angus steak, and a margherita pizza. The tapas were fantastic, ample in size, and very satisfying. The pizza was larger than we expected and we happily scarfed the entire thing down. This is a place where you can chill and stay for a few hours without anyone giving you a sideways«Are you leaving now?» look. We were encouraged to stay for dessert but we were pleasantly full and satisfied at that point. We promised to return and by golly, we WILL! Great spot for a date, for a meet-up with friends, or even for happy hour. The music volume is perfect, so you’ll be able to actually hear the people you’re with. Does anyone like being hoarse at the end of the night from shouting at their peeps? Me thinks not! They should really call this place«Not Just Grapes Lounge» because they offer so much more than just wine. I fear that this place will someday get so busy that I won’t be able to get a seat!

I’ve been here a couple times now and honestly, I couldn’t think of any reason NOT to give this place 5 stars. Yes, I agree with some reviews that say the place doesn’t have as many people as you’d think it would HOWEVER I’m also the type of person that really enjoys the company I’m with. If the biggest issue is not enough people, EVERYONEREADTHISREVIEWANDTRYITOUT! :) I also have to remark that the service is absolutely outrageous. The bartenders are always providing such great insight to their wines; from explaining 100 year vines, to the body of the wine you’re interesting in trying. I was there last night with a few friends and Just Grapes wa having an end of summer special(I already joined their email list and was notified– woop woop YE in the house!!). I told a couple people to meet us and we had an absolutely amazing time. Happy hour all night, half priced any open bottle of wine, half price pizzas and tapas specials. I do have to admit although the special prices were something to be excited about, but their price points vs product on a normal day is about right. We landed the lucky couches spot near their faux fire place– love love love. I also have to say, I absolutely love their pizza and tapas. The pizza is not pizza from a pizza parlor… It takes the more traditional route, and I mean good ol’ fashion literal italian traditional pizza. I think that’s what the confusion might be for some poor reviews about their pizza. The pizza reminds me of my family’s classic foccacia bread underneath; to die for(look it up if you don’t know what I’m talking about haha). Everyone I was with last night were huge fans of the pizza as well. It has a nice thickness to it and is perfect for 2 as an over sized tapas plate(see the pictures). The place is really charming. The décor I’m a very big fan of. I think its lovely. Go check it out. The place needs more regulars, they’ve gained a few last night that’s for sure!

Very nice quiet area, however, if there is a loud party there, it can annoying quickly since everything can be heard. But anyways, about the place itself, its a nice environment! The food is great, small plates mostly, but their pizza is awesome. Their sangrias are refreshing and do taste like an actual sangria rather than just watered down juice. lol Owner is very knowledgeable when it comes to his menu and drinks, not to mention a pretty funny guy. Nice place to take a significant other or a small group of friends. Their prices are fair and one can easily be there for hours without realizing the time. Highly recommend this place!

Met a friend I hadn’t seen over a year at Just Grapes. I have been wanting to try this place for a while. When you walk in it’s almost cave like with dark lighting. No one was there when we arrived but we got there at 6:30pm. The waiter was very attentive, engaged in conversation, and even joked around with us. We each had two glasses of wine and we ordered Margarita pizza and chicken empanadas. The food was good. I have no complaints at all and would definitely go back. Not sure why some of the reviews are negative. It’s a very chillaxin atmosphere and would be a great date spot.

I’m happy this place had a Groupon or else I would’ve never thought to go here! I went on a Thursday evening after work. It wasn’t crowded and it’s not like your average restaurant. You feel like you stepped out of jersey and into an oasis that feels like a cave. Service was great & attentive! One guy came over and right away explained the details of there 7 Sangrias– he kept checking in throughout our stay if we were okay on drinks. The one who took our order was the owner which was pretty cool because you don’t get to meet the owners in other places too often. He was informative and courteous. Drinks we tried 4 out of their 7 Sangrias. I liked the red w bourbon and the Caribbean white– the white w mint was great too– very refreshing. Tapas– we tried the angus steak skewers– well marinated and cooked to perfection– melted in the mouth and wasn’t chewy. Bread stuffed with lobster Mac and cheese– looked nice when it came out– I enjoyed the lobster bites but I felt it was too much bread to Mac n cheese/lobster ratio. Baked Brie– amazing! Shrimp and chorizo scampi– very good– I loved the sauce– I just needed a straw! I didn’t know shrimp could be that small btw. Ambience was very nice– I would suggest a mixture of table sizes– since they’re small and round, you can comfortably fit 2 plates and 2 drinks at a time. I think if there’s a mixture of table sizes and a mix of chairs like some more couch/chairs w arms it will give the place a better feel and that bit of what it’s missing. Even though I loved everything that I ordered, I would suggest adding to the menu– possibly some more hot meat options and tostones which you find in most other tapas places. Maybe there can be some specials each day or weekly? Pretty cool place– I read the other reviews before buying the groupon and hesitated but I had a great experience and didnt feel anything of what some other neg. reviews said. Great job and congrats on your upcoming 4 year opening date anniversary. We will be back! k

Been here many times and each time the food and drinks are amazing. Always a great time chatting with the owner or any bartenders that have been there when I’m there. The ambience is so relaxing and a great place to have a drink a small plate and relax. It’s always such a great time and always empty. Come on Unilocalers… patronize a terrific establishment!

I’m going in blind on this one, so 3 stars is either a favor or a disservice. We walked in on a(non-holiday) regular ol’ SATURDAYNIGHT at ~8:15pm and the place was empty. Not the kind of empty where there are only a few lonely tables peppered throughout a large room. The kind where you roll into an abandoned ghost town and all you see is tumbleweed. I was really surprised; I just stood there and blinked 3 times at the bartender(who may have done the same) and heard a whisper in my ear«let’s get out of here». That’s what we did. Too bad, because the place is cute. 3 stars because the inside was nice and gets good reviews… how wrong could all these people be? 3 stars because even if the food and wine were fantastic, being in an empty place blows. If you’re meeting 25 friends, go here.

I heard about this place and decided to check it out last night for the first time. The place itself was cute had a cave feeling to it but something was missing in the décor. The candles on the table was too tiny and it seemed empty inside. They have a cute«fireplace» area. The food was great. No complaints there. I had the Brie with wine sauce and margarita pizza. The wine menu wasn’t bad The downside was the lack of selection on the food menu. They don’t offer much choices. Also they do not offer wine by the bottle except reserve wine. Being a wine bar I would expect them to sell wine by the bottle. The service was terrible! I would have added a star but because to the poor service I did not. Our server took forever to drinks. I was done with my glass of wine and he is behind the bar with the bartender on their cell phones! I had to wave him down a few times. There was about 3 tables at that time and he couldn’t keep up?! I think because he was too busy in the phone. Then we notice him enjoying his dinner playing in his iPad. Eventually the bartender came over and assisted us. I never had such a bad experience with service. Put the phone down!

My fiancé and I decided to throw our engagement party here. Right away we were able to meet with the owner and set a date. He was extremly professional and laid back, listened to all of our ideas and worked around OURBUDGET which was incredible! especially since we were paying for this event out of our own pockets. We made two trips after the first initial visit to arrange logistics, in which again I was able to meet with the owner without any problems. On the day of our party, our guests arrived extra early. This was a shock to me since we are hispanic and usually we are always late. The bartender was AMAZING!!! he was attentative, and friendly. He made sure everyone had drinks and refills. Several times i asked for a drink and walked away and he literally brought me my drink everytime ! The place looked amazing. I was able to bring my own décor such as mason jars with flowers, and i had favors which they allowed me to set up in the back mantle. The food was amazing, large platters very nicely layed out. We had about 65 people show up, more than we anticipated but there was more than enough food. I brought in my own desert– cupcakes and after the food was done, Just grapes allowed me to display my cucpakes and run to dunkin donuts next door and purchase a box of coffee for my guests– which was awesome of them considering the fact that they do sell desert and didnt try to push that on me. I loved my party and everyone that attended also loved everything about Just grapes !!! It was a wonderful experiance :)

Tough turn into this lot! It’s really easy to miss… Look for the Dunkin Donuts right after Wendy’s and the Exxon. The décor is a little cheesy, but the wine selection is pretty good and always changing. I’ve discovered a few new favorites at this bar. They also have a full bar and few good craft beer choices. They have a nice selection of light meals and apps, including a meat and cheese platter, fondue, and pizza. The food is pretty good, but the real draw to this place is the wine. Get yourself on the mailing list, as they often have great specials and deals! And talk to the owner! He’s super friendly and approachable! He’s always behind the bar making conversation with his guests.
