The kids enjoyed their 1st class. The dojo is very well kept and clean The instruction here is incredible. Great Dojo. Their children’s program is very good. The school ensures fundamentals are learned before any real fighting contact is actually done.

My wife started taking karate at Seido years ago while my sons were taking karate at a competing school in Westchester. The first thing we noticed was the difference in approach between a true Japanese school and an Americanized school. It’s a more holistic experience — the practice of karate isn’t just dominating your opponent, but is a way to approach life with confidence and thoughtfulness. The second thing I noticed was the change in my wife’s physique, and the increase in her physical strength. The classes work your total body in a way that is deceptively simple, and you leave class exhausted but some how energized! My sons stopped karate after a pretty long commitment(yellow and brown belt), but when the new Westchester Dojo opened they wanted to start again, and had no disappointment that they had to start from the very beginning. They love their classes and the Sempais make it fun for them while encouraging respect for themselves and others. And now I am taking it as well, and love it. The staff is terrific and even though Seido is a very large organization with dojos throughout the world, it is a family run organization and you feel immediately that you are part of that family. And you would be hard pressed to find a Dojo that looks like this anywhere in the tri-state area.
