Excellent service. Delicious food! Definitely would go back soon. I had the fish and chips which was excellent. The fish was flavorful with a light coating.

I’ve been eating here since the 80s and it’s always been consistently good food. They’ve really updated and improved over the years! What started out strictly«pub-by» and my hot spot for wings has become an all around great Italian/American/Grill dinner spot. The staff is a bit slow, but otherwise, all is good!

This place is solid. I would honestly give it a 3.5 if I had the option, so I rounded up. I go a few times a year and have no real hesitation about going back. The food is good and the beer is cold. The grilled cheese is phenomenal and the burgers are good too. My only drawback is that I generally sit at the bar and feel as if it takes FOREVER to be served, and in a manner that is a bit less than welcoming. Clearly this hasn’t deterred me from going. It’s a good, clean place with good food.

Second time here but this time I choose from the menu… Way too many choices. You truly can’t be good at everything and have everything fresh… So I went safe with a turkey wrap! Nothing like eating a dry wrap that was large but mostly oversized wrap and too much lettuce. I made the mistake and asked for a few onion rings that were heavily breaded and very greasy which made me feel like I had lead in my stomach… Trying to stay safe it was below average at an above average price. My friend had the blacken chicken sliders which were ok but definitely in the wrong bread … Why put a small piece of chicken on a huge bun??? The service was slow and we never really saw our waitress. I guess there was only one for the entire place? The highlight was the band… They were very good Exsoulance!!! A great distraction to what was below average in every way! I was so disappointed.

This place stinks, literally. I could smell the cigarette smell and other odors wafting up from the old carpet as soon as I walked in the door. I was tempted to leave, but having been with others, I stayed. The food I ordered was mediocre. To be fair, I felt so sick from the stench of this place, perhaps my meal would have been more satisfying eaten elsewhere. Our waitress was very nice and the service was good. I’d love to come back when this place gets a much needed makeover.

On what seemed to be the coldest night of winter, having a good Italian dinner on a Saturday night at Pete’s Saloon needed to be put into place. We bypassed our usual restaurant and try another dominant fixture in White Plains… Well, Elmsford to be exact. Mr. Man and I, triple-dated with very good friends of ours who we met with, a bit later. So here’s the deal, we made reservations for 6– for 7 pm dinner. If we wanted to see the local band, Pete’s would add $ 10 per head, however, if we didn’t want to catch the band, we would have to scruff down our food and leave there by 9 to make way for other folks who would want to take advantage of both dinner AND the band. And, so… we all came to an agreement of staying put. We began with mussels in wine/garlic sauce and other friends shared an ordered of mozzarella sticks. Between the time we sat down at 7 til about 7:30 ish, our friends and I were chitchating the night away an soon after, placed our orders. Our server seemed like a headless chicken. Although nice, she tried to juggle too many jobs at the same time. My thought is… If there’s a band, on a long weekend(or not), have extra servers to cater to the many patrons to make sure everything runs swiftly. Nothing more unpleasant than being rushed through dinner. Yet, it’s a different case, when meals are paced accordingly. However, entrees were brought out and everyone seemed pleased. Mind you, between the time entrees were brought to the time we finished it had been a 30 minute lapse with no sign of our server. We finished dinner at 8:42, and the band was still practicing, no sign of them starting anytime soon. At this point, I was fuming. And since service was deficient in attention tonight, I suggested that we not do dessert and be out before 9 and skip the $ 10 per head to see the band. But our server beat us to the punch and went ahead with dessert. It’s 9pm and band is still practicing, no reason at this point to charge $ 10… When in reality there was nothing to jam to except scratchy bass notes. P-U-H-L-E-A-S-E. We motioned the hostess and Mr. Man mentioned that because our server was busy elsewhere and nowhere in sight, and music had not started, we were going to wrap up. We went ahead with dessert and I had the delicious chocolate mousse in a white chocolate tulip cup. Between several minutes of back and forth and letting the hostess know the deal of what was going down, she«waived» the $ 10 tag for the band, who mind you, STILL had not started. In the end, Pete’s Saloon made the grade on food. Service, I must say lacked greatly tonight. My pet peeve is bad service and therefore not giving them another opportunity. I so want to give them the benefit of the doubt and say they seemed hurried because of the band playing, but no reason for not keeping the lines of communication open to your patrons.

I randomly stopped in here with my wife just for quick bite for lunch. Expected a different ambience based on the name, but was well pleased. Staff is extremely nice and a large amount of regulars. I had the hangar steak sliders w/onions. Steak was perfectly cooked and the slider buns were some of the best I’ve had. The chef clearly knows how to season his food. My wife is super healthy and went with the veggie burger which I always make fun of. It was hands down the best veggie burger I’ve ever tasted, I may get it next time. Definitely coming back from now on when I’m in the area.

Impressive changes over the years! I had not been here in ten years, and even though it was good before, it’s much better now. The food is good, and comes out fast. The beer selection has vastly improved, now with about twelve taps. One complaint though — they don’t have a printed list of the beers on tap, so the waitresses sometimes forget one or two. I like the fact they have 2 different Captain Lawrence products — DRINKLOCAL(about a mile away)!

Bland. The marinara has less flavor than tomato juice. Even the garlic toast used for the sandwiches had barely the faintest hint of garlic. Service was not great. Had to flag the waitress down for an extra side of dressing, and she put it on my table next to an empty glass without offering to get a refill.

The food is good bar food. Unless you sit at the bar and watch the bartender make your mixed drink, I guarantee you that it will be watered down. Such a shame that a nice place with good bands would stoop so low.

Pete’s saloon became a staple in my life when I was working in Tarrytown. You just couldn’t beat it for delicious food and drinks. I requested all of my birthday’s and my going away party to be held there. For my going away party 30 people showed up(we had it in the back area with tables pushed together) and they handled it like champs– all the food was perfect and came out at the same time. Now I live in Dallas, and am dreaming of that chicken ranch wrap with a side of buffalo sauce. And the fries… and onion rings. Delish

Pete’s Saloon hits a bit of a nostalgia nerve for me. It reminds me of the type of place I would frequent with my family as a child … very casual &(relatively) blue-collared atmosphere. The type of place you would expect people to be throwing darts next to the dining room over a beer, after having scarfed down some meaty buffalo wings. Locals seem to frequent and know each other in this bar restaurant. It is comfortable, people are friendly, and the food is good. The portions are also good. I would say the menu is terrific as it is large — there is something for everyone on it. The prices are also extremely reasonable. Westchester needs more places like Pete’s Saloon … more specifically, central Westchester. These are the types of places you feel comfortable going to after a long day(or week) of work to kick back over a tasty beverage, good company, and good eats. It is not loud, and the dining room is sizable. Don’t expect crystal water-fountains or butler-service though … this is a casual spot that gets the food, portions, and casual atmosphere done right.

Hello 1984, they called and they want their bar back. This place needs a major scrubbing and some modernization. Old fashioned places can be charming but this is just a little sad. From the salty old bartender, the lousy disco music, and the nasty green carpet that would make Gordon Ramsey vomit, let’s put some money into this place Pete and spruce it up a bit. The creepy 80s style butler statue with the eye patch at the hostess station is creepy and should be the first thing put out on the curb. If you wish there was a time machine to take you to the early 80s you’re in luck! Your wish has come true, just go to Pete’s!

I’ve only been to the bar for lunch and drinks and have not been disappointed. Attentive bartenders, fast service, and very good and filling sandwiches. I particularly like their wraps an fish sandwich(Seafarer). They also have good nachos an wings. In addition, they have great daily soups such as beef barley, minestrone, and of course, excellent french onion soup. Then there’s the onion rings. They make them the way I love. Beer batter. They are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The large order is a meal in itself. The place is clean and welcoming and they have a loyal group of regulars. I would probably do 5 stars if I had dinner there. Probably soon.

First let’s get to the good parts. Christine, our server, was friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, and attentive. The interior, which I had not seen in 10 years because I was not residing in the area has an open feel to it and is quite attractive. The pricing is higher than shown on the internet but that happens often. I was taking someone to dinner as a treat so money was not an issue assuming i would get what I paid for. I ordered my old standard, my favorite dish in the place, 12″ strip steak with au poivre sauce. Au poivre sauce is made with peppercorns, brandy & cream. Yes, cream. Cream makes anything taste good. But I reminisced of all the times I had dunked my french fries along with a piece of steak into that au poivre sauce – simply heaven. So without hesitation that’s what I ordered. We were served some really nice tasting bread with whipped butter. I like whipped butter. I hate opening up those mini-cubes of hard butter which takes a while to put on the bread considering that the butter is almost always very hard if not frozen. In addition we asked for olive oil to dunk the bread(after all we want to be healthy, LOL) The olive oil they brought us was dark green, extra virgin olive oil and what a great taste it had. We are off to a good start I thought. My 12″ strip steak with au poivre sauce with a baked potato and veggies($ 23.95) looked kind of «different» when it arrived. Different than before. I didn’t see that beautiful milky colored looking sauce with sprinklings of cracked pepper. I couldn’t even smell the residue of the brandy that is typically added to the sauce. No, none of that. I saw a darkish sauce with lots of bits of something and the bits were especially prominent on top of the steak. I cut into the steak and immediately found that«medium rare» it WASNOT – that’s what I asked for. And then I was overtaken by this sauce with peppercorns in it alright but the many, many pieces of garlic were in it were overpowering. I couldn’t even keep it in my mouth – it tasted bitter and garlicky – but garlicky in not a good way – Like bitter garlic. Most cooks know that if you over cook garlic it gets bitter. That’s what happened here. There was mashed potatoes on my plate instead of a baked potato and there were mixed veggies instead of the green beans which was the vegetable of the day and go so well with a baked potato. So Christine took the steak back to have it made medium rare and to get me a baked potato. In the meantime my companion was eating his Chicken Scarparillo. Chicken breast cut up into pieces with hot peppers, mixed vegetables and french fries. He loved the french fries but said his chicken was just ok because his chicken was overdone. What is it with overcooking meat? Especially chicken which can get tough as nails. Yes, he finished his food simply because he was hungry and he was my guest so he didn’t want my hard earned money to go to waste. It’s called being a grateful, polite guest. Next, my new steak arrived with the same sauce on it although I told Christine our server to tell the chef to add cream to the sauce as it’s supposed to be.(She had said previously when I brought it up that this was the Chef’s version of AU Poivre Sauce) Well, if it’s his/her version then don’t call it AUPOIVRE sauce. Call it something else. Call it the Chef’s special sauce or call it the ALLYOUCANEATGARLICSAUCE. But don’t call it AUPOIVRE because us Francophiles or people who know french cooking know what AUPOIVRESAUCE is and that’s what we expect. I ate the baked potato with veggies and doggie bagged the steak. Does anyone know of a dog who likes steak with pretend Au Poivre Sauce?

Had a good meal here and I was surprised by how nice it was inside. We all were expecting something more divey, but it is quite nice inside. We had a party of 12 and they were nice enough to give everyone separate checks so we could expense them easier. We didn’t have a reservation and they accommodated us without any issues, we were all very happy with the great service. The cajun burger was good, nothing earth shattering but just a good burger. Fries were not to crispy and lightly salted just how I like. Truly a nice place to grab a beer and some solid pub fare.

The clams oreganata deserves a full 5 stars. You get ten freshly shucked clams in an order. They are perfectly cooked with just the right amount of bread crumbs, parsley and garlic. The fried pickles were a big hit for us as well. Fried in cornmeal, it was light and not greasy at all. The chili was just Ok. Nothing that stands out. The mozzarella sticks were way too huge and the marinara sauce was really horrible. Service was friendly and we definitely would revisit just for the clams alone.

I wouldn’t really call Pete’s a «saloon». I stopped here for a drink only and based on the old-timey sign out front I expected something darker and perhaps dingier. In fact, Pete’s is well lit, clean and fairly tastefully decorated. Someplace you wouldn’t mind taking your parents for dinner. Anyway, I did only drink here so I can’t speak to the food but the bartender was friendly and they seem to have a decent crowd of regulars. There’s a «pretty okay» wine list too which I appreciate. That said, Pete’s is WAAAYYYY overpriced. $ 6.50 for a tap of Stella? Them’s Midtown prices y’all.
