Goes towards a good cause but if you’re an avid thrifter I would skip this one. Prices are ok, but nothing vintage and no great finds. Lots of books and knick knacks tho.

Why would anybody want to give a goodwill organization a poor Unilocal rating? I’ve been going to the Salvation Army donation center and thrift shop several times a year but never thought of writing a review. Probably the reason why is because I’m only there to drop off stuff for my yearly donation/tax deductions. But after I drop off stuff and on occasion, I tend to browse the thrift shop like any would be shopper. The Salvation Army thrift shop is very much like an indoor flea market where almost everything is used and for sale. Like a department store that sells only used merchandise, you can buy everything from clothing/shoes, outdated electronics, sporting goods, home goods, jewelry, toys and furniture. I’ve never purchased anything at this smaller location but will if I see something of interest. As to why would anybody want to give the Salvation Army a poor Unilocal rating, my answer would be for people to think twice before they do. That said, I’d give four stars to this Salvation Army donation center/thrift shop for providing a service to those who need it. Just a friendly tip: To those who never been in a donated/used clothing store, you will notice the«thrift store» smell. Though it’s far from an uncomfortable smell and I’m not bothered by it, people with more sensitive noses might find it unpleasant.

This has got to be the worst organized store I have seen in my life. Women’s clothing is scattered, and since it’s not organized by size it’s a cluster fudge. The best was when I was told I couldn’t try on clothes because they were«closing soon»… except they weren’t closing for another 45 minutes. And while I could’ve tried on clothes, there was ONE cashier, who for the life of her couldn’t figure out how to use the credit card machine. I saw her swipe one customer’s card over 16 times! And then had more machine problems with the next customer. Supposedly. I waited 25 minutes when there were 3 customers in front of me. My transaction took 30 seconds! Never use a credit card here.

This is the saddest thrift store that I have ever visited. There is a small home goods portion to the left side of the store with broken and dejected looking items. There was also a milk glass section with pieces priced much too high. We are talking about mass produced milk glass used in floral shops, not Fire King. Also, to the olfactory sensitive, beware! A moldy smell permeates throughout.

Walked in and left right away. Place smelled awful, like the smell of cigerettes in the store. and it was so dirty. Couldn’t believe they had to lock up the shoes and handbags I guess theft is high here. Left really quickly. Go to St. vincents in New Hyde Park. Clean and doesn’t have a smelly odor.

My first Salvation Army experience was so great. All goods were well organized so it is easy to pick. One of my dish purchase has a premier, almost ten dollars or if you find it in the city, you might have to pay 18 or so, I found this only 99 cents. That was big surprise. I haven’t checked any cloths, but I could see there were so many of used clothes. Next time I will check those. I hope there are old vintage clothes… Update I went back for clothes today, clothes were only organized by categories and sizes were unorganized. I was so frustrated and stopped shopping after fifteen minutes.

This Salvation Army Thrift is not as spacious as the one in Long Island City(Astoria), Queens, but well organized. They are open till 7:00 from Mon to Sat. There are many donation box in parking lot if you want to donate out of business hours.

I usually come to this Salvation Army to drop off stuff as it is the closest one to my house. Its a fairly decent size. The clothes are always well organized and clean. The coats are marked fairly high here which is a down point, If you are looking for one skip this store and go to another thrift shop. Staff members are super friendly and helpful.

This isn’t the best Salvation Army. Frankly, it’s dingy, dirty, and not well organized. But the people are nice. And if you search hard enough you can find some cute things. I must admit, about one third of my closet comes from this place. If you’re in the neighborhood, stop by. But otherwise. Nah, it’s not worth the trip.

This may be the worst Salvation Army I have ever been to. It truly feels run down and not in a «oh my God, this place has the best deals and nobody knows about it» kind of way. The entire store is poorly maintained, the merchandise is hardly saleable, and prices can be all over the map. I’ll only stop here if I’m coming back from the one on Front St and feeling lucky. It’s hard to like this location when other thrift stores in the area are working hard to improve their image and streamline their operation. The only reason why I didn’t give it one star is because I know that the proceeds from each sale go to a good cause.

OK… I usually love going to the Salvation Army, but this place was a huge disappointment. They did not have a good selection of anything. I browsed all departments, and was thoroughly letdown, however, as I was heading out the door, lo and behold, just laying in a pile of junk, I found a DVD, «Motrocycle Diaries!» Yea… that was odd, and the price was good, only 99 cents! But really, dont waste your time going to this location.
